  1. I love what Darren Oliver did today cleaing up the mess of Neftali who didn't have much command. The bullpen will continue to be a major concern for me moving forward. As always, a bullpen is a year to year proposition. Salty came through....okay, hope he can keep putting together decent at bats and stay healthy. Nellie Cruz has sick power, to flick the wrists and go opposite field bullpen is fun to watch. Feldman did what an ace does. Moves past speed bumps and keeps you in the game. Loved it. The offense did get no-no'd through 6, which is a major concern. This offense was not good last year, and today reminded me of that. Hopefully Hurdle can work with the kids and make them compete every time up. You saw that last night in Boston for both the Yankees and BoSox. It's like they were playing a different brand of baseball. I want to see that here. A day off will help the wrist of Elvis, which is still hurting. Hopefully Harden gives us more that 5IP Wednesday night.
  2. Families shouldn't have 6 kids (my opinion). You get what you get if you can't control that aspect of your life. The midterms are not going to be the blood bath that you expect. Oh sure....the right will keep using fear to sway the ignorant, and they will win more seat, but it's not going to be the bloodletting that some of you think. The majority won in 2008, and they are still there in massive numbers.
  3. Why don't we all just drive tanks then. My Nissan is just under the new MPG requirements. But when 2016 rolls around and I want a new one. I would like to think that there is enough technology to make the same model get better mileage. Lets not act like we will all have to drive around in smart cars.
  4. None of you have the slightest clue about how on board with everything UNT Timmy is. Relax.
  5. Just remember that MLB was and still is controlling the club until the sale to Chuck Greenburg is complete. When you are trying to make your club as attractive as possible to a potential buyer, you don't want a story like this leaking out in this era of media. Nolan, JD, and Thad Levine made the decision to keep him last July after he admitted to it before the test results were known. Keep in mind that Wash also gave the same news to the commissioner's office. With baseball controlling the club and wanting it to be sold just as bad as some Ranger fans, they probably had just as much say about keeping this a 'hush-hush' issue. Randy Galloway reported that a ticked off employee is the one that leaked this after blackmailing the club for a number of months, which doesn't shock me. Last season, if you remember - the front office and organization trimmed around 15-20% of it's staff. Understandlbly someone was probably upset to lose their job in this economy and used that info as leverage. It is also possible the club floated that story out there to move around some blame, who knows. Personally, I don't really care, but I probably would have canned him at the time. I don't think wash is the best game day skipper, but his players do like him....which is a lot more than we can say about guys that have rolled through in the past. Although I do understand the tough circumstances that the club has had to endure over the past few years because of a broke owner.
  6. May we all sleep well. Tomorrow is gonna be great. So proud to be an alum. Go Mean Green!!
  7. Way too early for any predictions. Need to see a pitch thrown this spring. We need to see just how healthy / consistent Salty can be. Can Borbon actully pass as a CF with a sub-par arm? Can Clint Hurdle get through to a free swimging bunch that tuned out Rudy for the most part? So many questions and so much young talent. We should all wait to see how things roll for a few weeks in surprise before we throw out any knee jerk predictions. With that said 88 wins. No playoffs. Angels = still good Mariners = very interesting (especially w / Figgins) AL East = still too strong Oh yeah tune into Diamondtalk.
  8. Do not be mistaken. This was a terrorist act. Throw him in the pile with Tim McVeigh. The definition that was given earlier perfectly describes what this was.
  9. Let us not be so quick to call our president weak. He still has a very big and positive base out there. Are they as vocal as the right wing? Not at all. But there are a great number that understand that all of the nations problems wouldn't be cured in one calander year. Give it time. Your precious Ronald Regan had a very tough first year from what I recall and now every conservative is carving a butter sculpture of him at every county fair. Give it a little time. Hell if they passed the current HC bill in my mind that would be a major win for any president. And before you go bashing it, actually read about some of the good it will do and people it will help. That is what bothers me more than anything in the HC debate. There are thousands and thousands our own people being screwed every year because insurance companies and pharmecutical corporations are raping the lower and middle class. Sorry to go off here, but to just dismiss what out President is trying to get done is pretty one sided. Oh yeah, he caught a Taliban leader....we gonna give him some credit for that? Probably not. He wants to prosecute terrorist in court here and get a fast conviction (just like the last president did) and he is getting roasted for that. Let's just all admit that political biases are muddying the waters of what is really going on. A bad situation that we all need to try to fight through. But god forbid it's and election year for a minute percentage of the population.....so we all suffer.
  10. I hate to bring in something from the Huffington Post here, but this should be a part of the conversation. Apparently his wife has been raking in millions from the insurance giant Wellpoint for years. Why would he want to reform the current healthcare system?? If he doesn't have aspirations for a higher office, then he will probably become a lobbyist down the road. Whatever. Just another part of the problem a-hole that is out of touch with the issues that citizens have to endure in this country.
  11. These women are vastly more intelligent and probably more qualified for anything over Sarah.
  12. Not really, just whipped by you and those like you that keep bringing crap like this up ad nauseum. This administration is no worse than the last one. Give it up dude. This whole conversation is becoming a thrashing of the highest order. Your side will never agree with my side. Deal with that and move on please.
  13. My point is that because our president is a black guy, a largely white, conservative, and often rural crowd is starting a movement to air their political frustrations. I seriously have a hard time believing that there is not a strong under current of racism at work here. I am not saying it's the parties platform, but to say racism is not an element is laughable.
  14. If you actually read my original post fully....you would have read me saying that that SOME, NOT ALL,IN THE MOVEMNENT ARE A BIT RACIST. But no, it's more fun for you to start ranting and arguing.
  15. Never said one thing negative about Alan Keyes here. Is he a Tea-bagger? Also, don't go painting me with a brush that I think black conservatives are 'Uncle Tom's' that is complete and utter bullshit. Also, Alan Keyes was too smart to try and become president ten or so years ago.
