Why would you choose to come and play for this defensive coordinator in this defense? I know the easy answer is you're probably sure to get playing time but honestly would you want to play for this defensive coordinator?

PS - Their DC makes less than $200K
Please explain to me how Morris was not able to get a very experienced and proven DC?

You made the call to overpay an inexperienced dc. For what he is being paid you could have got a lot of very experienced defensive coordinators or hell you could have even hired one of the best DC from FCS. If you had not chosen this route for a DC we could have been near the top of the conference. I can only hope that you mature as a coach and get the air raid Philosophy for defense out of your vocabulary

For years we complained about a staff that could not make adjustments. This stuff seems to have no problem making adjustments but does not seem to be able to game plan. Is our scouting this horrendous that we have to see in game action to make adjustments?

I’m convinced few to none sat around through the early 90s teams…. Emmitt and Rudy I think we’re at the games maybe around 98 if I recall at the tailgates. Almost nobody really knows how bad we use to be…. This isn’t close to being bad….
Disagree. If you look at the investments in this program and how much these coaches are being paid this is just as bad if not worse.

My early prediction is SMU will put up 70 on us

Eric Morris is just as guilty!!
And hindsight this seems to be a case where Eric did not have the maturity as a coach to hire an experienced defensive coordinator. Maybe he wanted inexperienced coaches so he could show he was a control versus having the confidence in himself to hire an experienced defensive coordinator and let him run that side of the ball. Sadly not sure if this will change until he's been coaching for several more years as history shows Air Raid coaches do not place a lot of emphasis on defense

My fraternity just canceled our tailgate for tomorrow. Rumor is that many frats will be cancelling as well. I saw that the athletic department is giving away free t shirts to the first 500 students, however I am not confident 500 students will show up...
You're not going to get students walk across miles of asphalt and uncovered areas just to watch UNT football... Tomorrow will be a day that greatly displays the negative aspects of NIMBY stadium projects and the impacts they have on collegiate demographics.
I believe it's safe to say you are the most pathetic poster in the history of gomeangreen.com. I have empathy for the pathetic life you must live where you're only joy seems to be from trying to cut down North texas. As I say you are a pathetic individual and a great example of how getting clicks is the most important thing on this board or you would have long been banned

I disagree. If the students were that burned out on paying the extra money, they'd attend college somewhere else, instead of continuing to set enrollment records at UNT every year.
In addition to North Texas being a great school I think it's also a combination of other things that are contributing to the increase in enrollment. Even with athletic fees State schools are still much less expensive than private and also with rising cost a lot of students are staying closer to home which benefits North Texas as there are really no other state schools that compare to North Texas in our region

Just put an athletics fee on the student's Fall Semester billing. $200, $300, whatever number. If they don't like it, tell them to go to another school. Talking out of my ass, I would think an Athletics Fee is a necessity at any major university.
It's probably not just the athletic fee that had them vote no, but the overall number of fees students are asked to pay. For my son, there are fees that, when printed out, take almost a page of paper for all the different areas of the university that he has to pay a fee for; even though many of the places listed, he will never use the services.

clearly, you don't know your history. It passed here. That is how we got apogee. We passed it during the middle of the awful dodge years, not coming off two conference championships like UTSA
If we put it on the ballot again today, we might see the same results. I think many students are tired of having so many extra fees added to their education.

🤔 Let’s delve into this a little deeper. Why wouldn’t Army join the American? Especially with UCF, Cincinnati, Houston and smu all departed making the path to a Conference Title much more attainable and possible chance at playoffs. Conference payout and keeping Army/Navy game intact. No brainer.
When you listen it also sounds like other conferences were trying to get ARMY also.

Check the Wednesday night UTEP/ Sam Houston ratings. Football fans will watch anything.
Many casual fans will watch whatever is on, and if more than one game is on, they tend to watch P5 games over G5, regardless of the teams.

Why does the Army - Navy game need to be out of conference? Every press release keeps referencing "preserving the Non-conference matchup". Why does that matter?
There is probably an NCAA technicality where you cannot have a conference regular season game after your conference championship game. Now, it would be interesting if the Navy and Army played for the conference championship before their "Army-Navy" game in the future.

Please help me understand how this keeps the PAC a conference. Doesn't an FBS conference have to have six members, not alliances?

Sorry, not allowed. Offertunity says he has a receipt. A 15% restocking fee may be assessed.
What a stupid ass comment about a man who has gone out of his way to get recognition and open doors for North Texas. Some of you who claim to be North Texas fans go out of your way to dump crap any chance you can.

I hate those black helmets with a burning passion. If we want to build our brand as the Mean Green, then why don’t we actually wear green when being put on a national stage??? Like c’mon we’ve been on ESPN several times this year and only worn green once. Absolutely ridiculous.
They look terrible on TV. So freaking tired of hearing the athletic department talk about branding for the Mean Green when they keep putting teams out in black (and the grey that is even worse)

Good. They were some of the chirpiest ones when realignment was first happening. I am personally delighted at their failure.
I had forgotten about that. If I remember correctly, their fans made quite a few comments when they left and had quite a few choice words to say about the teams from CUSA when they were going to the American.
