I mentioned we have two spots left. That’s not enough to fix our issues. I know it’s a crappy thing to do and I don’t like saying it or typing it, but I really think it would be beneficial if we could setup transfers for Alcindor, J Simmons and Tikhonenko, or even just 2 of the 3.
JJ did this after year 2 or 3. It was unfortunate and crappy but it had to be done to become competitive.

I wouldn't know if we're recruiting him - I'm just joining in on the Miles Davis title fun! But yeah, I meant that to be interpreted as "stealth".
Meh, so what?

Same thing happens against UAB and he losses the game. In DMNS he says losses hurt, but it is apparent after the first loss the losses come easier. Count on 2 or 3 more this year. Second half reminded me of Dodge era teams. Fine may be setting records, but I saw Steve Ramsey and he is no Steve Ramsey. Season is lost. Let our young QBs and Quinn play. Quinn is at least mobile and a threat to run. Others have height and won't have the ball batted back in their face as Fine often does. In Fine's defense he has played hurt since La Tech, but other teams know this. They blitz because they know he can't run. They force him out of the pocket where he is no threat on the sprint out. True he has heart but that won't help him grow. Time to see what the bigger QB's can do. As of now there is nothing to lose, the season ended last night.
Are you serious? Bawhahahaha

Just wow. There is a total of 8 teams in FBS that have more wins than the Mean Green this season.

Not for 25K people yesterday.

Punting was not a strength last year - at all. I would hope there is a serious upgrade plan in place.

I’m still in Nawlins and I’m still having a blast.
It was much better than sitting home.
The only thing missing was Tony’s balls!

What does that mean? How many team fan base's over 500 miles away, not in the Sun Belt, with short notice, taking place during graduation, that went to a more prestigious bowl last year would travel better to NO Bowl?
SMU?
TCU?
I doubt there are many if any?
I think we should have waited to see if we got the Indy Bowl, taking first bids is not usually best idea in business.
I would bet that Southern Miss would have traveled 10 times better than us to New Orleans and we would have traveled much better to the Indy bowl.
It does't matter now I guess
Yeah but bids can go away and you can sit at home. Just ask La Tech.
You do make a great point about the iBowl and the N.O. Bowl picking the wrong teams. If it’s attendance you are after that’s a real head scratcher.

“Good for another Mean Green touchdown“ instead of “first down” was the worst. Anybody else hear that?

If there are more 6 (or more) win teams than slots available what are the rules?
Thanks,
I don't think there are any. Just don't be all upity like La Tech a few years ago. They thought they deserved a better opponent for a bowl that was courting them. The bowl got sick of it and didn't invite them. La Tech sat home with more than 6 wins.

So Wren has arranged two home and homes, one with Texas Tech and one with Liberty. Both series have the first game at their place.
I hope that Wren knows what RV learned after a few of these "deals" - that the return game is not reciprocated unless it is very expensive to do so.

There is no such thing as a sure win for us.
Should wins: Lamar, UAB
50/50 chance to win: Southern Miss, UTSA, FAU, Old Diminion, UTEP, Army, and Rice
A little steeper climb to win: SMU and La. Tech.
Need 7 turnovers to win: Iowa
I think we finish 6-6 and go to a bowl.

Bussey is a stud.
Cade Pearson is super young and looked the best to me out there today. Fine was good/bad. He is the best runner of the bunch
The "x" factor was the wind. It was terrible.
English is a load in the middle. He is very disruptive
Where is Tyler Wilson?
Overall, we are much better than we were at this point last year.
i would love to hear people's thought on LB play.

I can tell you from my kids and other younger folks I talk to I know that UNT is the way they refer to us.
This is definitely true. I don't care too much either way even though I voted North Texas - which is winning biggly.

I was getting participation trophies for youth football in 1972.
Generational stereotyping is silly.

Bawhahaha! The ASU AD saying that GM said ASU was the better job.
GM being nice as he exited that craphole called Jonesboro. I've been. That place is terrible.

You underestimate what UNT is.
You wouldn't wager on that would you? He will be fired. The only reason he was back this year is because we were still paying RV, Mac, and Peterson.
I'm not saying this isn't a completely embarrassing cluster eff because it is.
I used to go to 8-10 games a year. I've been to 3 in the last 5 years.
I personally turned on RV New Years Eve before the first HOD Bowl in an Omni Hotel bar when he was was still fully supportive of TB.
This has been epically bad and horribly mismanaged but TB's contract will not be renewed. He was a goner no matter what even before the season started.

I hope things have changed but so far I have been a little disappointed. I just hope i don't hear Tony is a good guy but injuries plagued the team so we are going to give him one year extension. That would be the death of me.
Oh c'mon. There is no way that will happen.

Questions for Recruiting Podcast tonight
in UNT Football Recruiting
Posted
In the last podcast we heard the approach was to be a little more stealthy. This appears not to be the case...or is it?
I see multiple kids in the State top 100 not signed, are we in on any of them?
How many are we signing this year?
As we appear to be building depth (correct me if I’m wrong) how will we approach JUCOs this year?
How did we go from missing on so many JUCOs to hitting on them?
