The MAC is the only G5 that has it pretty much correct for a long time now. The MWC is now the MAC of the west. The AAC, CUSA, and Sun Belt need to figure some things out. It's just crazy to have so much geographical crossover between the three. Count me in the group that has absolutely no problem with schools like Texas State. I wish we would just break away with UTEP, UTSA, Texas State, Rice, La. Tech, ULL, and Ark. St. Maybe someday SMU, Houston, Tulane, and Tulsa come back into the fold when they are done chasing their tails.

Things were pathetic when he took over. I still remember thinking just how bad we looked physically in Mac's first spring game.

That being said I also remember being excited about the 2010 class. I remember thinking how amazing a job Dodge recruited given the shroud of negativity around the program. The fact is he did have the juco busts and for whatever reason could never reach the scholy limit.

I agree about the stars garbage but there is no question Mac recruits more kids other programs want and they are sticking around.

I think LB and defensive end are going to be the issues here going into next season. IF Anthony Wallace like you said can come in and fill the giant void of Orr then we might be able to keep Akunne at his position. I think Sed Ellis could fill Wrights spot, but he needs to put on a little weight in the offseason. It'd be nice to see him at a minimum 215, but 225 would be preferable.

I think this staff turns this into a recruiting boon unlike Dickey and company. We went to 4 strait N. O. Bowls and actually recruited worse. I think so much of that was our facilities issue.

Not sure how UL and ASU damages the CUSA brand since they would immediately be contenders. If we brought them the SBC goes back to a one bowl league. UL and ASU is a far cry from NMSU, Idaho, USA, and Troy. Good lord the SBC sucks going forward.

I don't disagree with that, but until that happens we need as much distance as possible from the Sun Belt. CUSA isn't falling apart enough to move toward that yet. I don't know much about James Madison, but the people complaining about the addition of ODU (which has decreased some) should realize they have at least 2-3 times as many season ticket holders as we do. For me, Texas State would be the first team I pulled out of the Sun Belt...you know, if the sky is falling and I had to pick one.

The Bahama bowl is about as useless as the Hawaii bowl.

I think taking their two best programs would further distance us from the SBC. Agree?

No they shouldn't have. Maybe you missed the news about the new bowls; Miami-beach, Boca Raton, and Bahamas.

Meh, we took La Tech and WKU so markets matter only somewhat. Lose those bowls and pick up more locals. Don't get me wrong, I am loving life in CUSA but a regional FBS is the ultimate outcome.
