Agreed. That’s the most visited board, but I told the board host 15 years ago that format is outdated and terrible. 15 years ago.
This is my favorite UVa board.
I feel you. We know all about things not changing for multiple decades.

I'd hope so! Obviously given the opponent, and situation, I wish we could draw more, but I think the quick turnaround will prevent an attendance in the 8-9K range.
I’m not so sure. The CBI games were a quick turnaround and we were up above 6,000 for that last one. This is a whole different level. Importance and opponent.

RV has ALWAYS been a great supporter of the program.
I would love to see him involved with the athletic department over "game day experience". Wren is incredible with running the business side; hiring, scheduling, budgeting etc but pays very little attention to other gameday experience amenities like tailgating, bands (Beer Man), adherence to school colors, providing pom-poms at events, basketball band, etc. He just doesn't seem to notice the importance of those details.
The two of them work together well. We should utilize the talents of each.
RV was good at pushing green but there was nothing special about our game presentation from then to now. It’s always been awful.

Good calls. I thought all the Louisville games were pre-Super Pit. Forgot we even hosted Wyoming.
Louisville played at the SP in 1975 but didn’t win first national title for a few more years.

Nope. Sunday at 5
Trying to figure out what that means for attendance. We don’t have many Sunday evening games.

Good call on Wyoming.
Louisville and Baylor both won their titles later.

We've hosted them at the Super Pit? I know we did back in the Snake Pit.
Oops. I was just looking at hosting. Not super pit specific.

Any others? I'm pretty sure UNC played here when we hosted the first round of the tourney decades ago, but we weren't the home team, so I'm not counting that.

I would cut bowl games too. Every sport is over saturating the market with games. NBA allowing 20/30 teams in now with the play in games is a joke. Football and baseball also increasing teams in the playoffs. It’s getting too much.
My only reasoning behind the NIT going to 64 teams is there are already that many or more playing between the three other tourneys. At least being them all together. Make the big dance 64 teams again as well.
If teams want to play in the other tourneys who cares? They are only quasi merit based. But once again, just like the meaningless bowl games, no one is pretending they are something other than what they are. They are more easily ignored than complained about.

Would love to see at least one power conference home game each year. I wonder if that might actually be easier now that it would likely be a Q1 opportunity for teams?

As much as the marching band has improved for FB games, the basketball band has gotten worse. I mean we can't be good in football and basketball at the same time, in sports or in music. Don't be greedy 😅
My gripe with the basketball band is that they've been playing the exact same set list for the last 15 years. I think their issues the last couple years (edit: WEEKS, not years) have been spring break and Green Brigade Ireland trip related.

Depends, do you enjoy games that end 45-41? If so, Virginia is your choice.
That o/u is going to be set at what? Like 105?

What’s Mercer doing on Saturday? Can we play them?

We will have an extra day or two to promote, a weekend game, end of spring break, and power conference opponent. Hoping for double that this weekend.

The crowd, while it could have been bigger, was fantastic tonight. Engaged in the game. Can’t wait for this weekend.

Credit to the team. Holy cow.

Will UVA be the highest attended game ever?

Maybe I’ve got the green glasses on (and I usually don’t in attendance) but I’m going to say 8,000 for this one.
