Thanks
mustangmaniacs. You were given all the tools to help your team, but you decided to fail."But Adler, we really just wanted to stand along the front rail and see if we could get on television. Who cares if our team needed our support."
The Athletic Department really does need to step in on the name and steer things back in the right direction. Copying the name of the SMU student section is so asinine it’s almost beyond comprehension.
edit: The fact it does not appear to be an official name for SMU doesn’t change my feeling.

How quick SMU runs through coaches? Jank has been here as a HC for 6 years. Zero NCAA tourney wins and alienated the big money boosters. He knew he was out when SMU lost in the AAC Tournament.
In fairness to Tim Jankovich, the 5 guys before him didn’t win an NCAA tournament game either.

This will be interesting. I think this is a situation where we can keep Grant if we step up. It’s a lateral move in every sense other than potentially money. And we have people (not me) who have the money, I think, to make Grant decide it’s not worth hassling with SMU.

And most likely won and headed to MSG… One bucket away. Really wish we had taken it to the basket at the end of regulation.
I mean, St Bonaventure already beat Colorado and Oklahoma on the road. Far from a foregone conclusion, especially without Jones.

Cannot wait to start playing them again in basketball. It’s been 20 years. Will be a blast.

This is really a question and not a criticism, but why the hesitance to go to the basket in late game situations. Particularly at the end of regulation when it was tied, seems like the higher percentage play would have been to go right to the hoop.

What a fun season. The atmosphere today was incredible.

A strong 3:49 here would be nice.

Would be very curious to know what, other than Twitter posts, that the Maniacs are using for organizing.

Crowd pretty small unless late arriving. Which is possible. There seemed to be a big flow of cars into the area.

SMU having all kinds of problems against Washington State. Down 19 at the half. Being out rebounded 28-11. Of course, as we saw with Baylor yesterday, there’s no such thing as a safe lead when there’s this much time left.

Big crowd for Xavier. Hard to tell but they may have the entire upper deck closed.

True. And, the other 75% probably don't know we have a basketball team.

I'm not sure our students will be back from Spring Break by game time.
We need them at this game.
I bet you 75% of our students didn’t even leave the area.

TAMU had 6500 today. Wake Forest 4300.

I believe these graphics. Unlike a bowl game, none of our tickets have been pre-sold to several ticket brokers.
Those ticket brokers for the Frisco Bowl…now bankrupt.

"And in a late Sunday game, buried on an obscure ESPN alternative streaming platform, in a mid-major gym 1,000 miles from home, disappointed they missed the NCAAT despite having real hopes in February, we’ll have to see if UVA can match or even exceed the hunger from a trophy-hunting Mid-Major for whom a win over a recent Champion would erase their own missed-Dance disappointment."
This paragraph is actually a pretty spot on summary.

This is as hard hitting analysis as you’re going to get for this game:
If we hit shots we’ll win. If we don’t we won’t.
No charge for that preview: it’s free to my GMG family.
Possible keys to the game?
1) Scoring?
2) Defense?

Any idea how many Virginia fans to expect? I would imagine their fanbase travels well.
Traveling from Virginia: their basketball teams and support staff.
Rest of Virginia affiliated individuals attending game: Dallas metro residents.

Amazing run by the Bonnies. We would have had our hands full. Especially without Jones (presumably).
