Here is an answer regarding recruiting classes. They do not mean **** if there is not a coach around who can coach them. I have seen nothing from JJ that shows he is the man to break us into the Top 200 much less the Top 100 teams in the nation. Slinker has some many talented players come thru and their talent was wasted. What has DD done in recruiting outside of the Class with Kassell, Booger, etc.. Outside of Soccer there is not much to cheer about in UNT athletics. We have head coaches in positions when they are better suited being an assistant. Everyone keeps throwing the facilities as to why we should be looking up for athletics, facilities can only do so much, then the gold goes away and we are left with the same messy administration from the past. I was a huge supporter of RV when he came in and I still support him but for whatever reason not much is getting done in order to turn the whole Athletic Program around, not just Major Sports.

say what you will but look at Nevada, Western Kentucky (yes they are 1-AA) look at B-Ball, The MVC schools. There are a ton of schools with lower budgets that do much better than UNT, they may not be BCS but they are at the top of their league. As for recruiting classes we have heard the same song and dance for the last 5 years, this recruiting class will be better, but every year it is the same. Guess b/c I am not the lemming following the group my head is in the sand.

Air Force and Seton Hall should have been replaced by Cincy and Missouri State, although Cincy lost a Syracuse Team that one week before got blasted by a weak DePaul team by 40pts, so Cincy should only cry to themselves.

The Atlantic Sun used to have Troy and UCF before conference realignment. Of course not sure we could ever win the Atlantic Sun in B-Ball but that is besides the point. Much like us in Football you have to beat the players in your conference, whether weak or strong.

I would not say UCF has lousy Football and B-Ball consider both of their teams have been to the NCAA's and a bowl game within the last 3-4 years, UCF I believe was in the Atlantic Sun for B-Ball upto their invite to CUSA.

All my opinion and noone else's just judging by this past season when Phillips performed much better than Meager.

anyone want to lay money on Meager starting off next year, for some reason DD does not like Phillips. Guess August will be a barometer.

$$$ does not buy wins. Finding the right coach who wants to be here is what gets wins, finding coaches with some experience wins games. I am tired of the $$$$ being used as an excuse all the time. Is it $$ that Athletics can not update their website to promote upcoming events? Is it $$$ that causes DD to have thumbed his nose at the fans for the past 8 years. Is it $$$ that has kept Slinker here for 17 years with a losing record and no NCAA appearances, 2 NIT blow-outs. Also what are they doing to get the 7K or so new freshman involved, they are not JC transfers.

I think this season has taken its toll. Everybody is tired of the same ole attitude of many of the coaches that are here. There is no commuity involvement that is publicly displayed. All the promises made 5 years ago when RV stepped in have for the most part fallen thru the cracks. We have a Chancellor in office that many believe is holding back Athletics. Our main Athletics Coach DD still shuns the fans, hopefully that will change. This spring the Basketball Teams tanked, Tennis is sinking fast, Softball has some buzz, Track is on the periphery as well as Golf. Just a bad year for the fans and it does not appear as if the Athletics Office even gives a damn. There is minimal publicity and seems to be no communication on setting up events that would actually boosts Athletics the community. Lets hope for a change, but I'll cross my fingers and hope for a miracle.

Could be because none of the MVC schools actaully have Football Teams? Try again.

Possibly watch out for a team like Hofstra or Bucknell. The Zags will probably go the furthest though.

Got see a Syracuse B-Ball Game inside the Carrier Dome. Also the National Bowling Stadium is sweet in Reno.

Talk about a tale of 2 schools.

by combined 18-3, to UAB, Colorado State, and Denver (#52) absolutely great news to go along with the embarassment of the B-Ball teams.

Again seeing Slinker's track record in big games is this result really a surprise? Slinker and JJ should both be gone next year, but more than likely they will both be here for another 5-10 years.

They might make the NIT but like 01 or 02 they will probably lose by 30 to a .500 major Team. That is not great coaching.

I was in New Orleans late last week and not much was happening especially on Bourbon Street, I am scheduled to Demob from Lake Charles to New Orleans on the 28th but the Police are basically non helpful or existant for the most part right now.

look at tennis since we joined the Sun Belt we have placed no higher than 6th then they just lost to SHSU this past weekend. Played 2 matches in CO Fri/Sat lost both 6-1 play Denver tomorrow expect a 7-0 rout. Team has never beaten a Top 75 team. This year won all but 1 match 4-3 and that was 6-1 over a weak Idaho team. Not looking good for them to place higher than 10th this year.

after telling Trilli that no decision would be made until after a new AD came in, also they fired him the day after he returned from his player's funeral.

RF needs to step and play to his Offense's strength a good Coordinator should be able to adjust of course same goes for DD. Chad Rose hopefully has improved since he is the controller of the OL.
