Agreed,! But keep in mind what it takes to get to the NCAA tourney in our Conf. All you have to do is win the Sun Belt tourney at the end of the year. Which is hard enough to do since you have to win 4 games in a row. We have good competition in our league. Every team gets to woo about 3-6 recruits per year. That is it. It is easy to get guys off the top 100 in the nation if you are an ACC school. But Sunbelt you have to get very good players and hope. There are about 26 conf. that each get a spot. That leaves 38 at large bids. 7 to the ACC. 5 to Big 12 5 to Big 10 6 to SEC 5 to Pac 10. ETC. Oh yea what about if Gonzaga does not win its tourney. Do you think we will get an At Large over them. Basketball is a conference sport. See who is on TV week in week out. As far as the NCAA tourney goes. It is the top 25 then the conference tourney winners then the rest goes to the Power teams with top 20 wins. If UNT never plays ranked opponents then how could we get an at large birth. How can we get top recruits when they want to play at teams that go to the tourney. Just saying it is harder than it looks. UNT fields a good team but we are working against some great odds.

By my Calculations UNT should finish in the top 20 this year!!!! Heard a rumor that Rusty Greer is the heir apparent to the manager role of the future UNT baseball team. A friend says that he was on the hardline and mentioned wanting to coach a metroplex college starting a program! I also saw this on the "Baseball" thread. Anyone shed some light on this? If we signed Rusty that would be huge!!!!!!!!!!!!

With Dodge's son coming up in 2008! If he chooses UNT...then this is how I see the QB thing working out. Phillips as the current best passer we have would secure the spot for next year and possible SR year. Dodge would take over mid -- frosh or red shirt. With 4 full years (probable) Meager would serve as backup, with a chance to prove we can throw! But I see Phillips beating him out. (could change) I see Woody Wilson moving to Free Safety or H-back!!! All Speculation but who knows.

1300 the sports station in Austin had Craig Way (UNT Alumni) interviewing George for about 20 minutes on the impact of Todd Dodge and what UNT is doing in Denton. Great Pub for North Texas in Austin. Very nice interview. All of their sports updates include mention of the hire. TD is very well known in the Austin Market since he is a UT ex QB. Side note: On the Buckey Blitz, a caller called North Texas fan called in and with the praises of the hire. Yes, I know who North Texas fan is but don't tell anyone here in Austin!

Why does RV pidgeon hole himself into thinking we need a coach with college or head coach experience. Have we looked at some of the JV coaches out there who had winning records? It seems to be a candidate you must have played at Div 1 football, played Pro, been an OC or have multiple State Titles. This is horse-**** My best coach was my JV tight-ends/ Linebackers/ deep snapper coach. I hear he is a PE coach in Rose-bud Lott system now. But man he was motivational.

It would be embarrassing if we were looking at a JV coach from Pilot Point. By the way has there ever been a JV coach to jump to 1A. That would be a story for sure!
