Well, actually I never “alluded” to some kind of insider information concerning AAC expansion. That’s your perception.

All we have is hearsay, speculation and sports rhetoric.

Before we get all giddy let’s get the facts. We live in a world where common sense and logic are cast aside and replaced by the need for  control, power and greed which can lead to foolish and insane decisions. There are too many twist and turns yet ahead of us.

Sorry if you thought I was keeping insider information from you

    @SMU2006 @mustangfan   ....thoughts?

You know they have to be in their feelings tonight. They came with such confidence and bravado only to watch their university be reduced to desperation by offering to join the ACC for nothing for 5 years. How embarrassing. For once in their life they can’t buy their way into the country club. I know that must sting.

Anyhoo I’m gonna go make a sandwich. All this laughing has worked up my appetite.

Looks like SMU is still trying to crawl over glass and shake their money maker to go anywhere with a “power” label.

If SMU goes to the ACC with Stanford and Cal, and the AAC picks up Oregon State and Washington State, I’d consider it a net win for the AAC.

Yikes, didn't the ACC take note of what happened to the PAC when they considered adding SMU?! That ship sank faster than the Titanic. I'm sure the sequel will be just as entertaining as the original. 🍿🥤

    Take em all, big12!

THEN, the AAC can go get the best four G5s available. No reason to stay pat at 14. Wanna be a part of the club gotta act like you belong in the club.

I think they will leave too but do you think the Arizona board of regents - who also represent Arizona State - would let one go without the other?

I can’t imagine that would go over well if they did. Zona and AZ State are a package deal IMO. Utah joins the Big12 to even up the numbers and be BYU’s travel partner.

And with the leak today that the Big Ten is now looking to rescue Oregon, Wash, Stanford & Cal, that just leaves Oregon State & Washington State (and maybe SMU 😂). I have a feeling the MWC will add both schools in the next two years.

When the dust settles, the 30 for 30 on this debacle will be must see TV.

The Arizona BOR (same Regents for UA, ASU, and NAU) met at a virtual meeting today, no agenda mentioned.  This was just scheduled yesterday for this afternoon, short 30 minute duration Executive session.

Again, take with grain of salt, but AZ follower says the BOR Reps have gone "dark"....giving no info about content or subject of meeting

I look for a MWC leftovers and AAC left overs to become one league.   The mwc pays out about 4 million a year. The AAC pays about 7 million a year to its teams.

A lot of dominos would have to fall and even then, I don't see it.

The MWC has an exit fee of $34M if teams leave within 12 months, which means those schools can't afford to just bounce to the weakened PAC. A two year wait drops the exit fee to $17M but even then, what school is going to want to commit 8-figures leave a stable league to enter a shaky one that is losing brandname schools left and right? Also the PAC doesn't have the luxury to wait two years because the PAC's GOR TV deal expires at the end of this year and after it's expired, PAC teams are free agents and can walk without paying an exit fee. If Arizona, Arizona State, & Utah bolt for the Big12, the PAC's chances of landing a lucrative TV deal that keeps the league together is zero. Oregon and Washington will wait a year and then walk over to the Big 10 without spending a dime of exit fees. Stanford & Cal most likely go Independent due to their refusal to be associated with MWC schools. The PAC ship is taking on water and the schools are heading towards the life rafts.
