  1. Very interesting…pick the MWC for reasonable regional schedule, but less money and academics that I would say in their eyes, below their standards. Pick the AAC and get a problematic national schedule, but more money and schools within the conference on par somewhat to what they’re used to.
  2. I wonder the bigger these conferences become and the adding of a 10th conference game if it’s going to be harder for independents to stay independent. Time will tell I suppose
  3. Where are recruits going to watch games? That’s one of the reasons the Apple deal was a non starter…tough to tell a recruit watch our games on Apple when they don’t have a subscription 😅
  4. Incredibly desperate and weak move by SMU. All that money just to become the Vanderbilt of the ACC. Good riddance at this point
  5. Let’s just do relegation like they do in soccer.
  6. SMU solves none of the ACCs problems. Adding any new team will trigger a renegotiation of the media rights deal that FSU is desperately trying to get out of….you know what, at this point, please just leave SMU 😆
  7. Say they don’t have to pay anything, why would these (MWC) presidents vote to leave a conference that has guaranteed money to a conference that can’t guarantee anything to them. I think you’re way overvaluing the “PAC” brand as it stands now.
  8. Navy has to play in the west division, it was a condition of them joining the AAC. They want to be in the Texas recruiting market.
  9. Thank you. Those are the two biggest reasons why the PAC is dead…why it would be insane to join the PAC now, the PAC has no leverage.
  10. Why would any MWC institution pay 34 million dollars in exit fees to go to a conference with no GOR deal? Or want to be part of a George Kliavkoff run conference, that guy just ran the conference into the ground and you’re saying the presidents are going to vote to leave a stable conference for a once that is in complete flux? Far fetched. The PAC is over, the MWC has the leverage here.
  11. That is over never year. There is no autonomy status in perpetuity if there is no conference.
  12. The name means nothing, it’s over. It’s always been about the schools within the conference, once USC and UCLA left it was over.
  13. Why would they do that? That makes no sense the PAC has no GOR deal, the MWC does. Those schools would be shooting them selves in the foot. Sounds like “trust me bro” journalism
  14. No way the new PAC media deal remotely gets to 25 million much less 30 million per school. They all know the numbers and they’ve known for a while. That’s why Colorado left, they knew it was going to be 20 million with no linear option. The rest are just waiting for official numbers.
  15. Absolutely. If Arizona leaves the PAC is over, no one is staying and the 4 left over schools go independent (Cal and Stanford) or join the MWC (Washington State, Oregon State).
  16. Boise State man….you’re putting SDSU over Boise State as their biggest brand? TCU made the MWC work so you can’t say a Texas school wouldn’t do well but then again we sure as heck aren’t TCU.
  17. Didn’t the PAC and BIG10 try that and it failed miserably.
  18. North Texas tanks 75th out of 232 schools in revenue at $44 million dollars. Article is on USA Today Sports if you want to look it up yourself.
  19. The only thing I know about realignment is that literally no one is happy about either the school leaving or the schools coming into a conference in….any conference. A lot of these fan bases need a dose of reality, there is literally no where else for some of these schools to go.
