Good move by Ross to get Jason off the court to settle down. Bad shots and a lazy pass. He needs to lock in for us to have a shot.
First shot back on the court is a weird looking step back that’s blocked. Idk what he’s doing but he needs to calm down.

I feel bad for Stone. His confidence is absolutely in the gutter.

To be fair, our 4 wins have come against teams currently in the bottom half of the conference so the next week will tell us more about where we stand in the league overall. At Charolette, Smut and at FAU then home against UAB. The next 4 will be tough. Sure hope we can get Jones and Buggs back for some of those games. GMG
3 weeks is usually the soonest someone comes back from a hamstring injury and SMU would be 3 weeks exactly for Rubin. I imagine the staff will play this cautiously to prioritize tourney health over regular conference play.

Wonder if the “high-level official” commented on the missed foul call on Jason Edwards shot attempt a couple possessions prior.

It will be interesting to see how Pavia does there, how Seals performs at TCU and how the Kentucky transfer performs at NMSU.
I think you mean interesting to see if Seals ever steps foot on the field tbh

Man. Thing is….. not to be too greedy but we could be 15-1. Could easily be 13-3 and maybe ranked. But in long seasons…..taking games like that instead of losing them could be the difference in conf tourney seeding, being a bubble team, etc. Gotta have those. Hopefully they take momentum into Charlotte and hopefully Hodge is finding a groove with these guys
I think if you finish conference top 3, a win over either FAU or Memphis, then have a good showing in the tourney you have a good case for an at large bid. A lot of basketball to be played though.

Putrid offensive performance tonight and still got the W. Super impressive to pull through like that on such an off night.

Always felt like if Drez could do it over, he would have stayed or at least been more selective where he moved. This all but confirms it. Went from 30+ minutes a game to under 20.

I have to say I am a bit surprised that's the record. I would have thought more than that for the Texas Tech game in 2010 for example. I came back for that game and I remember a ton of students were there.
Could also be a data issue where they didn’t differentiate paid vs student ticketing up to a certain point.

Who left there besides Finley?
I forgot the name but one of their transfers last year went to Ark State to be a WR. But I just meant I don’t see Mooney or Morris leaving bc they lost the battle. I think it’s clearly Morris’ job with Mooney the opportunity to be a future starter. I also think I misunderstood GoGreenBeans post so lol

Crazy thing is, we’re going to see this play out at UNT with Morris and Mooney now… we’ll get a first hand view on two guys transferring in and one of them ultimately losing the starting job. Will be interesting to see it unfold
I dont believe this will be the case. Maybe will see Earle move on after spring ball if he sees the writing on the wall. But this isn’t a Texas State situation where they have (had) 2 highly regarded QBs with one year of eligibility left.

It looks like the Texas State star QB did not take kindly to them bringing in a high-profile QB in the portal.
I know everyone has a love affair for GJ Kinne but my opinion is that he’s a portal merchant that isn’t concerned with building a program. He just wants to win fast and move on.

Tony Mitchell playing for a coach with strong defensive principles would be a scary sight.

Morris lost the job because he was injured and when he was ready to return, TCU season was already lost. Morris had a better completion percentage, QB rating, yards per attempt, TD to INT ratio, rushing stats. They also weren’t winning games with Hoover either.

I think at this point you hope he’s back for the SMU game. I wonder if we try and steal the 2 roads games without Buggs as well to give him a little more rest.

We used to have fun halftime entertainment. The lady that could catch bowls on her foot while atop a 6 ft tall unicycle. Acrobats that would slam dunk. And my favorite, Frisby dogs !
Would that help get people in the stands ?
Game entertainment doesn’t attract but it does retain. (Most) people don’t see a halftime show marketing and a decide to attend. But if you attend a game and the product is good and the environment is enjoyable, you tend to remember it and want to come back.

That must have been awesome!
The funny part was there were some kids that were completely unbothered. They were trying to wrap the thing up and 2 kids were sitting mid court taking their sweet time tying up their shoes haha

It is sad but I mostly agree about the NIT, but I also think since Covid, student engagement at non-major schools has taken another noticeable dip.
Sidebar on the Covid thing: I’ll forever be salty that our NCAA tourney win happened in the Covid year and I feel we didn’t get to properly “experience” it the way we should have.

It’s very low budget and bare minimum and I can tell no one is thinking outside the box.
This is much! The game experience needs a complete overhaul. Do fun things on the Jumbotron (sing along, dancing competitions, etc), have the DJ play more relevant songs, display Jumbotron queues at APPROPRIATE times (last game they played a “get loud” clip as WE were walking out to shoot FTs. Play that when our opponent is about to shoot). Just so much that needs to be done on that side. Off court product needs to match the on court one.

Foul originally called. You can see the ref putting his arm up in the replay. Reviewed to make sure it occurred prior to the shot clock violation
