From what I’ve read, he definitely has a nice skill set and a winning pedigree. But, I’m a little concerned about the size. Sub 6’. Maybe Hodge will utilize an offense to effectively showcase his skills instead of just throwing the ball to Aaron down low to operate or going iso.

If someone wants some homework, I’d like to see what the stats are behind the Aaron iso back down for 15 seconds of the shot clock. I can’t imagine it was successful more than 20% of the time.

CJ is the key to everything next year. Hope Rubin wants to stick around,  figure Scott will see out his career here and Walker has no more transfers.

    Everyone else is replaceable.

CJ should be a lock starter next season. If Rubin and Aaron stay, I see 2 starting spots that need to be filled this offseason. I’d like to see a PF and C brought in so Aaron could play his natural position of SF. Jason and Dello off the bench. The framework is there but we’ll see.

Is this just pessimism or do you know something we don't?

I've thought about it being just stress, which would be good news, or appendicitis, which would be awful for everyone.  Recovery from surgery would extend beyond the tournament.

My mind immediately went to appendicitis when I saw the amount of pain he was in. Basketball availability aside, hope he was able to get the treatment he needed.

I just don't know what we bring to the table. Our home loss against UTSA when we were a 13.5 point favorite is hard to fathom. We finished 7th in AAC in regular season with a 17&14 record which is not NIT worthy. We lost to USF,Charlotte, twice to FAU, UAB, and split with SMU, all of whom finished higher than us in conference play.

As a committee, if you have multiple teams with similar resumes, I’d personally go with the defending champ for marketing purposes.

But all this won’t matter once we win the American tourney so.

This is new to me.  I thought retiring a jersey/number was synonymous with "hanging a jersey from the rafter"

So, what does it mean? If it's not HOF, and it's not retiring the jersey.

I forgot about Davis.  Wasn't his jersey hung after he was put in the HOF?

The Davis banner has his active years and the year he was inducted in the HOF. It’s him, Lyons, and Jalie that has HOF/jersey banners.

Rubin is a very good player, but nowhere near the level to have a jersey in the rafters.  IMO you would have to have multiple all conference first team honors or be a player with national accolades

I don't remember who currently has that honor, I know it was only Mitchell and Reedes for a long time.

Who should be there IMO, Mitchell, Joe Hamilton, Kenneth Lyons, and Tyler Perry

Rubin will leave North Texas with a NCAA tournament win, 2 conference titles, NIT title, and most program wins all time. And could/probably will add to that. That deserves to be recognized. Tylor only being here 2 years makes it a tough call for me.

I know it was a scramble situation, but that was a terrible last second shot.  Surely we could have had a backup plan if that was the first option.

As soon as the ball got to Edwards, I knew it was never leaving his hands and it was going to be a bad shot. Ross should have known that too and called a timeout immediately.

    PAC brand > MWC brand.

MWC schools see an easy road to a P5 conference with a merger.  However, PAC2 currently wants only the best names in the MWC, not all.  MWC leadership is trying to push an all or none merger.  Eventually the better programs like Boise, SDSU, etc will split away to the PAC anyway, if there is a reasonable media package being proposed.

Sure but at which point do you run into the Theseus Paradox. When you lose your storied programs and down to 2 teams, how much does history the brand even matter at that point. You’re “PAC” in name but no one will see you that way. That’s the argument ESPN, Fox, Apple, etc are making right now.
