  1. I know what you mean, but the article is definitely one of those you see on a site with a catchy headline that makes you click. Then the actual "analysis" is anything but. It was simply an attempt at humor and it failed miserably. Now had we still been in Fouts I would have argued for that place to have been #1
  2. A buddy sent this to me. A dumb article in which Apogee is listed as the 8th worst place to see a college football game. When I saw the title I thought they were going to discuss sight lines and physical attributes, but NOOOOOOO Apogee Stadium Congratulations, North Texas, on having the first completely LEED certified stadium… in a state full of people who make money off of oil. This would be like the Denver police department bragging about their highly effective drug dogs. It’s no wonder only 20,000 show up to watch the Mean Green, since “Mean” is probably a word used to describe anything “green” in North Texas. The .451 winning percentage since 2009 probably doesn’t help either. So apparently to them we have a bad stadium because it's LEED certified, or we are an oil state, or is it because we draw 20k??? Seems like sound logic. Oh - and just a slight amount of research would turn up that UNT is 12-6 at Apogee. What jackwagons!! http://www.thrillist.com/travel/nation/worst-college-football-stadiums-america-s-worst-stadiums-to-watch-fbs-college-football
  3. I'm confused by some responses here. They have 8 home games and back to back against big names. Yet we take shots at their atmosphere and attendance. When was the last time we had more than 6 home games in a season? And have we ever had two games against big name teams at home? And I don't count the years we played a game at texas stadium.
  4. So a punt return for a TD and our punt returns have been great. I know this will sound weird but for today only I would have preferred a lot of fair catches. Like when I play NCAA on playstation. I take fair catches to increase my total yards. In this case it would be so Dajon could get more work. I know, it sounds dumb, but he needs to reps!!
  5. Play the regular offense the entire 3rd and then call it a day.
  6. Oh and back to back national TV games. I know the opponent has something to do with that but just saying.
  7. Just be careful. All of these sites can be dicey. My AVG went crazy. A file automatically started to download which is always unstable.
  8. How does that happen? And am I missing something, but I count 8 home games for FIU?? When did they become ND or Ohio State??
  9. Since stupid Directv blacked out the game except for people in Boston and stupid MGS.COM isn't streaming the game I have to listen to George and Hank and flipping through games. A little advanced scouting so I have stopped on IU. Indiana looks pretty good against with #18 Mizzou. And what is on the side of the IU Helmet? Opposite the IU of course.
  10. So damn stupid. How many people in Boston care about Nicholls and North Texas? Why black this damn game out. UGH I'm pissed.
  11. Direct has blacked the game out!!!!!!!! AGH!!!!!! Any internet options?
  12. Bingo. NESN+ is carrying the game. If you have Directv and the sports pack then you have channel. http://nesn.com/2014/09/conference-usa-featured-in-nesnplus-saturday-college-football-slate/
  13. Brilliant!! And to those without DTV it should be relatively easy to find a bar with it. Most serious sports bars will already have directv because of the Sunday Ticket and of course the sports pack. Just bring a few friends and tell them you will make it worth their while with alcohol sales!
  14. FIU actually led Pitt at the half. I only watched about one quarter but they have a true frosh QB that isn't all bad and will get better if they stay with him. Obviously we should still win that game, but outside of Nicholls St how can we say anything is a lock? Seriously. We all reasonably think DW will improve the offense but we don't truly know. I am betting he will, but it's a different ballgame playing LA Tech's 3rd team guys as opposed to the 1's of the other schools. Again, going with DW is the right call and the offense should be better, but to try and predict what our record will be the balance of the year is as useless as those that pontificate as to what injury a guy might have by just seeing a replay.
  15. Yep. Wow, when you click on the school you get all kinds of good tidbits TX ST - $14.6 million in student fees UNT - $9.8 million
  16. Find a buddy who has Directv and the sports pack. Or better yet switch to DTV and use me as a referral. Then I get $100 in bill credits!!
  17. How on God's green earth do some of these schools have budgets much bigger than North Texas? TX State, James Madison, Old Dominion??? 66 Old Dominion $36,929,483 67 James Madison $36,072,842 70 Delaware $33,750,927 74 Texas State $29,764,777 78 North Texas $28,800,436
  18. Bingo. Him being all in is what I was trying to articulate. But you are right we don't know his situation but we have to give him the benefit of the doubt. I just think it speaks volumes that according to Vito Mac has maintained for some time that DW is the most talented QB on the roster but it basically took the worst offense in D1 for three weeks to force his hand. It's almost too coincidental that a few days after an abysmal offense performance DW is all of the sudden up to speed and in total control of the offense. That being said - I still love the move. It had to happen.
  19. On my Directv the game comes up on the NSN Network which I think is the New England Sports Network. Anyway channel 628-1. Man I hope this isn't a big tease. Just in case is the game on Mean Green Sports?
  20. First I LOVE the fact that DW is starting. It is the right call and perfect timing with an FCS team then a bye. I just hope we chalk up his slow development to the fact he is still a young kid, because that has seemingly kept him down. From Brett's post. McCarney said following UNT’s win over Louisiana Tech that Williams is the Mean Green’s most talented quarterback. He has long said that is the case, but maintained that Williams needed to mature and develop as a person and player to capitalize on his potential. “He didn’t do the things he should have during voluntary workouts over the summer, which was workout, throw, take care of yourself,” McCarney said. “The two major scrimmages we had in fall camp — he didn’t take one snap. Now he is figuring it out.” I definitely don't want to be that poo-poo poster and hope he is growing up especially now that he has a kid. Bottom line, the best QB on our roster will start Saturday!
  21. Whether you like them or not everyone needs to get on board with tricked up uniforms. They matter to these young recruits and IT IS a recruiting tool. Regardless of how small of a tool, it is one. And please no trite replies that Alabama doesn't trick up their uniforms blah, blah, blah. We all know why they don't. Side note, I loved them. You might call me biased as a result, but it is still the truth. We need to go the way of Baylor and Oregon. Begin -1 button pushes in 3, 2, 1.......
  22. You guys act like the cushion is something new. Last year they had just as much cushion. It drove me up the wall. But they got away with it because the front 7 was so damn good. I think Skladany is a fantastic coach. But he knows that if they bump and run or press, more often than not our slow corners will get beat. Buyers is a fantastic tackler I mean I am not sure I have ever seen him not make the tackle when he gets contact. But the problem is he doesn't have the wheels. There were so many times that LA Tech had all 11 guys within like 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. I would love to get our defense fast enough to play like that. I fear they would just be too exposed if they did.
