  1. This is a transfer from a D2 school that according to their website had zero catches in 2015. Gotta be be a walk on...right?
  2. King is a 4-Star "athlete" The only reason he is committed to UH is because the TCU coaches were actually honest with him about his chances to play QB. Cougar High came in and sold him on the lie that they saw him as a D1 QB and promised that's where he'd play. They also lied to him and said he and Sells were the only QBs they were taking and would compete for job once Ward is gone. King is the recruit (not Sells) that Herman had to do damage control on following the Allen transfer. Herman and the Coogs better be careful about making promises they can't/won't keep. What tangled webs we weave when first we practice to deceive.
  3. A&M offered him a long time ago Well the Mean Green made the top 4. An offer to Lee would actually give UNT a real chance with Starkel.
  4. Not gonna say he's Troy Aikman but am gonna say I've seen him make that throw plenty and when Elite 11's lead evaluator says he makes that throw like an NFL QB (actually he said better than most NFL QB) that should clear up whether or not he has the ability to rip that throw in there. The chance to get Starkel is slim to none, but the only chance may be to offer Lee ASAP...only if the staff sees him as an offerable player.
  5. Kid's arm is strong enough on intermediate throws for Trent Dilfer to say he throws the seam ball like an NFL QB during Elite 11.
  6. King is a phenomenal DL and would be a great target for the new staff. A couple of other under the radar TAPPS kids. DL Will Jones Prestonwood http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2132144/will-jones WR Justus Lee Liberty Christian http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3137189/justus-lee
  7. Oklahoma State offered Nick yesterday. They are his first offer. Griffith wound up committing to ACU.
  8. When TCU made their move to the Big 12 one of Patterson's first comments was the he wanted to "build a fence" around the area recruits. Don't think we'll be doing any fence building but at this point I'd like for UNT to at least just throw out a net around Denton county. Seeing many of the local kids that go without UNT offers is baffling...perhaps none more baffling than Josiah. Kid is an absolute beast on the field...and a great kid to boot. I know the staff knows more than I do and I trust that they do their due diligence on these area kids, of course. I just don't understand not doing everything you can to lock down DISD and the surrounding districts as best you can when it comes to the kids that are CUSA type recruits. Josiah would be a great place to start!
  9. Griffith followed up a 6 catch 176 yard 3 TD effort against Bishop Lynch with a standout defensive game against Midland Christian. The highlight was a 40 yard pick 6 but the real highlight was that he lined up over Oklahoma State committ OT Johnny Wilson for much of the game and handled him just fine.
  10. That's understandable. But the kids playing in the highest private school division are not suffering from a lack of competition. That landscape has changed. Liberty's district is littered with D1 athletes. Schools are anywhere from 400-1100 enrollment wise. It's good football. The teams in the district routinely take public schools behind the woodshed. Is it 6A football...no. Even though the district has taken down some 6A teams. But it's every bit as competitive as 4A and better than a lot of 5A. Ok...I'm off that soapbox. Point is, there is some interest, even if it may just be cursory.
  11. They have all been contacted by UNT. What that means...who knows? Griffith attended UNT's Junior Day.

  15. Seen the kid play multiple times. Would have never pegged him as an FBS WR. He's a solid HS player but there are kids like him all over the place. I could see him playing college ball for sure but in my opinion it would be as a borderline FCS/probable D2 guy.
  16. He followed that up by saying he wished he'd gone to Ft. Worth today. One thing Aggie recruits did a few years ago and TCU 2015 commits are doing now is blowing up other recruits twitter with an official hashtag for their recruiting class. Seems to be a growing trend in recruiting.
  17. Another JR day visitor Hunter Griffith 6'3" 225 LB/DE Argyle Liberty Christian http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1742332/hunter-griffith
  18. I really hope you weren't referring to Lundblade here. This is the problem when people pretend to know anything about a kids individual situation, decision making process or character. It's too easy to make throwaway comments like this one.
  19. His son is an absolute stud basketball player at Dallas Bishop Dunne. Mean Green fan checking in during a little Vegas Vacation.
  20. Not a D1 talent. Just go youtube search his name and you get a look at the skill of the teams he's playing against. The level of competition at that level of TAPPS along with TAPPS Division 2 that Midland Christian and McClendon play in is also not good at all. That's why you see the crazy stats. These are good high school football players/teams feasting on bad teams.
  21. Not sure on that. I do know that Daryl Richardson and Bernard Scott are brothers. Edmund Gates and Aston Whiteside are their cousins. Crazy talent in that family that made its way to ACU.
  22. Their problem with football will be that they built that program on non-qualifiers. Manning was committed to Nebraska but couldn't get in because of grades. They also struck gold on a Vernon connection that landed them Bernard Scott, Clyde Edmund Gates, Daryl Richardson (who was drafted in 2012 and spent the season as Steven Jackson's backup....so that's 5 in the NFL) and Aston Whiteside who was in camp with the Cowboys. They won't make the rapid ascent UTSA has because of the difference in population and because they will need the full amount of time to fully fund all scholarships. They have a plan right now to phase in a certain number every year....I think 5. They also currently play their games at a stadium shared with Abilene ISD (Shotwell) and are in the process of funding an on campus stadium. So, if they do ever catch up to UNT, it will take some time. That said, they do have D1 ready track and baseball programs. Both should compete well out of the gate.
