Cleverbot, IMO.

Agreed. Good find DA, although it's big-time bummer.Looks like a valid scoop Denton, so kudos to you for breaking it -- even though as a fan it's disappointing to hear.
Vito had this: http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/2014/02/noah-joseph-update-late-night-hoops-thoughts.html/
And yes, as everyone is saying, we just have to be able to start paying the assistants. Wish Joseph and Walters luck, but the work they did in the recruiting trail will benefit us long after their departure this year. Despite all this, I love Mac's ability to replace assistants.
Enter Coach Kevin Patrick as the new recruiting coordinator!

Lol, I'll never understand why people still say "could" instead of "couldn't" in this phrase. So you do care?
If you say you could care less, then that implies you do care in some way, shape, or form.

Looks like he may be close to committing to TCU. They're using the ole multiple-letters-at-once trick with him as well.

Good stuff! First linebacker offer to my knowledge for 2015. Looks like he might be big enough to play inside LB as well.

It's not that he wouldn't be eligible to go to a D1 school, but that he would have to sit out a year if he transferred to a D1 without graduating from the JC. If a guy graduates from a JC, whether he started at a D1 or not, then he can play immediately at a D1 school if he transfers to one.I don't think you have to graduate from a JC if you were eligible for D1 when you finish high school. I believe the graduation requirement is for non-qualifiers.
I think risinggreen is right about this. He may be eligible to transfer to UNT despite not graduating from Navarro since he qualified out of high school, but he wouldn't be eligible to play immediately like a JUCO player who graduated from the JC.

Expressing interest in this guy.

Former teammate of Sir Calvin Wallace, Andrew Tucker, Rex Rollins, and Lairamie Lee at Chapel Hill HS in Tyler, TX. Currently plays for Tyler JC and played the 2013 season there, after redshirting in 2012 at Midwestern State.

Also hearing that former Tyler Chapel Hill DL and current Tyler JC player Colton Moorehead is getting #MeanGreen interest.

Hearing that Tyler Junior College DL Mote Maile has a #MeanGreen offer and will visit in March. Also will visit #TCU on March 7.

Former Trinity Trojan and current Tyler Junior College player Mote Maile has been offered by us per Gabe Brooks. Looks like he played at Trinity early in his high school career and finished up in California. Obviously played good competition here in the DFW, but played very good competition in California as well. Likely being recruited as a strong side defensive end. Also has played tight end.
JUCO highlights and junior/senior high school highlights at Pittsburg High School in Pittsburgh, CA:

Yeah, I think you may be right about that. Also, yes to an NCTC football program.Wouldn't he have to be a JC graduate?

If he's transferring from a JUCO, regardless of whether he played there or not, then he wouldn't have to sit out a year. Could be eligible to start playing this season as a redshirt sophomore.Played at Navarro last season.
Edit: was on the roster at Navarro last season

One player we offered who I have not made a thread for is Jalin Barnett, a 5-star o-lineman out of Lawton, Oklahoma. http://247sports.com/Player/Jalin-Barnett-27402
Barnett is a long shot at best, but one of his teammates is very intriguing to me. His name is Mahlik Hanna, and he's a ~ 6'1" 182 lb linebacker
http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Mahlik-Hanna-156933
Hanna will be a 3-year starter at Lawton, one of the premier programs in the state of Oklahoma. He's an undersized linebacker who likely projects to safety in college, and that's where most of his D1 looks will likely come at. However, I think he has John Skladany outside linebacker written all over him. Can absolutely run sideline to sideline and hits with some authority. Great closing speed. Had 111 tackles, 3 sacks, and 3 interceptions as a junior. If he continues to grow and improve near the way he did in between his sophomore and junior year, Hanna could be a great fit in our defense. It'll be interesting if he comes down to Denton and the coaches see him in person this summer, because I could easily see them falling in love with his game and trying to get him.
Here's Hanna's film.

These things are always on Saturdays in the spring, when I always have club baseball games :/NT90 can have meangreener and Ben gooden. Are they playing? I will take Billysee and Kram

Correct. It absolutely works both ways. They have to work together as well. You need good coverage and a good rush to consistently be good against the pass, including the quick passing game as you pointed out. But I do agree with Mean_Green09 that without a good pass-rush qbs will pick apart even good secondaries. But yes, it does work both ways and you need both.it works both ways. If the ball is coming out in 2 seconds flat because the DBs are sitting 10 yards off the ball, Dline has no chance, not even at NFL standards. In return, Dline has to at least be able to move the QB. You don't always have to sack him or even hit him to be effective. As always, sacks are preferable though.

QB play was the difference between TCU of the last two years and TCU during those 4 years of finishing top 15, more so than the move to the big 12. If their qb play would've been anywhere near the play they were getting from Dalton and pre-suspension Pachall, they would've won plenty more games the last two years. They've been competitive in every game and they have one of the best, if not the best, d-line in the big 12.TCU finished ranked (AP poll) 6,7,2, and 14 in the four years leading up to their move to the Big XII. If they weren't ready to move up, then no team ever will be. Also, it's not like their first season in the Big XII was a disaster. They won 7 games, lost a very close bowl game to Michigan State, and beat UT on the road. Doesn't sound so bad to me. This past season was a down year, and it would have been a disappointment in either the MWC or the Big XII. Every team in the nation has a down year now and then.
They've recruited to the point where if they have good, on a big 12 standard, qb play they will be successful. Coach Mac has a system in place where if we get at least average qb play, on a CUSA standard, we will be in the hunt for the west division title. If we were ever in the big 12 we would need much more than that from the qb position to be competitive in the big 12.
There are two programs in the big 12 that can compete for the big 12 championship with average qb play, and that is Texas and OU and even that has been their downfall over the past few years and helped lead to the rise of schools like OSU and Baylor. I like our potential over TCU if we were to enter the big 12, especially with us being a large public school, but we too would fall into the group of every team in that conference not named OU or Texas. Our success would be dependent, not solely but mainly, on qb play. Just as TCU's is now.

Oops. Wrongful accusation by me. That's a self imposed 2-day ban for me. I thought it was you because of the avi. It was actually MeanGreen13. But yes, that's why I said for good reason. Why had we not heard of him if it was Sam Rice?Me? No, I was just hoping someone close to the program could confirm. It sounds like it is pretty well confirmed now.
Is Vito on vacation?
Also, if him and/or his brother are coming in on scholarship or are put on scholarship before the 2014 season then he/they would count towards the 2015 signing class.

I asked if it was Sam Rice earlier when his name first appeared on the workout sheets and people shot me down (UNT90). For good reason. Why haven't we heard that we got a D1 starting guard , from SMU no less, to transfer here?I was told its the Sam Rice from SMU.

Tillman Johnson's commitment and recruitment had nothing to do with Xavier Washington falling through. The coaches wanted Tillman regardless.
