  1. Weird, I thought Thursday looked much more full than last night.
  2. I don't think P5 is an official designation. It's an old hold over from the BCS era for the AQ conferences.
  3. Great resounding win. I would have liked to see the bench rotated in a little sooner at about the 10 minute mark. But we just got Sissoko getting more minutes so maybe we better not push our luck. 😂 Very nice 3 point shooting today, the guys just looked dialed in and confident.
  4. Certain is a strong word, and we all know how wild realignment can be. I do think there will be a real attempt by the Big12 to see if some PAC schools are interested. Is this video saying ESPN is out completely in any scenario? If that can be verified and it's only Amazon bidding (rumored to be putting up $15m a year/per school) then I'd agree with you, as with a payout that low everyone would be leaving.
  5. Hopefully we are rested up from the double OT on Thursday. The best thing would be to get out early and have the bench get some good minutes.
  6. For those that didn't watch theres a lot of the limited info we already know, but the most interesting thing he brought up is why would the Big12 let OU/UT go a year early? They let them go for a combined $100m, if they had waited until next year they were looking at $80m each, why would they give up $60m? Best guesses are that they wanted to be set up, and will at least try to offer some PAC teams. Otherwise I'm confused as to why they would give up that money.
  7. 55% vs 38%. More than half full and better than being closer to a third.
  8. Not to beat a dead horse, but 3,800 in a 7k arena would look really nice...
  9. Btw this is McCasland's 200th win.
  10. For the primetime slots they probably won't be losing much, the Pac rules the late night slots. Games here on the west coast start at 7pm/9pm central, those were always on Fox/FS1. It's pretty likely that bars and restaurants to have those games on after the primetime games are over. Will ESPN carry those games now? It will all depend on who gets first tier rights, I don't think ESPN will change their programming if they don't get the top Pac game of the week. Amazon already produces shows and content, think about the last time you were on Amazon and saw their content advertised to you. That's probably the answer.
  11. This is such a great thing for the team to do for the students.
  12. Great win to gut this one out. At first I thought our guys were leaving people open and not closing down, but after paying more attention their guards are just insanely fast. You can tell emotions were running high, Perry was really wanting to hit those 3s and was frustrated. I keep saying it, Scott is like Rodman, just 100% effort every minute. Huntsberry is really starting to come into his own and find his role. Sissoko continues to get minutes and gain confidence. You build and grow from these games, and Mac is the kind of coach to stress that. GMG!
  13. Rumors are that they might go full in on Amazon streaming. Amazon certainly has the money to match what number they may be looking for, but the big risk is losing exposure. If they go that route it's a huge gamble. On one hand they may be in the forefront of how sports are consumed, on the other it could backfire completely. When you are at a bar or restaurant how many people are going to boot up Amazon to stream a football game? Casual football fans flip through the TV and watch what's on, it's very unlikely that they would browse Amazon for sports content.
  14. Yes, but don't forget the massive exit fees OU/UT are going to have to pay. They can use those to compensate their current members, and to boost payment to any new members if Fox won't up their share. I think the reported fee is $80m each. The reported total payout after BB credits and CFP money is reported at $50m per school starting in 2025. If you are one of the 4 corners schools, and the Big 12 is willing to take you, I don't see how that's not at least a possibility on the table. Everything hinges on what the Pac deal looks like. I don't doubt SMU has been working for many months to see what was possible. Any school would be open to/actively pursuing a move up.
  15. Oh, and just to be clear. Unlike some arguing against the move, I wholeheartedly think they should do it. Sign as soon as they give you the contract, don't even look at the fine print.
  16. The Big12 contract is reported to have a pro rata clause that any P5 they add will be able to come in at the same share. https://awfulannouncing.com/ncaa/big-12s-new-media-rights-deals-reportedly-contain-pro-rata-clause-in-case-of-future-expansion.html This is the dagger hanging over the Pac12s head if their payout is significantly lower.
  17. Nice, thanks for the clarification.
  18. Some were saying he had some kind of protective headgear, so maybe an undisclosed injury.
