OU had the best O-Line in the country this year....

They do lose a bunch to graduation but O-Line is definitely not their issue

Fun fact, OU Offensive Line coach Bill Bedenbaugh is Littrell’s brother in law. The two coached together in Lubbock and Tuscon, and would probably put the ban back together whenever Littrell gets a major P5 head job.

Jevin Murray is having a game!  He’s the only Shadow Creek DB that is being allowed to play man up with the receiver within 5 yards of the LOS...and his man is getting NOTHING

Absolutely. You could tell Morris (the HP QB) was checking away from Murray. The few times he moved to the opposite side of the field, they went away from him again. Mind you, Murray plays in a secondary with a UH signee (13), and a junior with P5 offers like LSU, TCU, etc. (4); so this showed how good of player he is. The few times he was thrown at, Murray made a ton of competitive plays on the ball that were highly athletic and technically sound from a DB perspective.

The smallest OL guy we got today was 275LBS.  The other three, if they are actually the weight they claim, are all at playing weight. I'm hoping we see some immediate benefit from this.

You don’t want freshman Offensive Lineman playing at this level. They aren’t ready for the strength, speed, smarts,  and technique required. Will know about this group in 2-3 years.

    Plantin is a different beast.

Art is the perfect Seth Littrell replacement if you want nationwide publicity and a team that won’t fold the tents anytime it gets the lead. All three losses were very winnable and the last one downright embarrassing. If SL wants to go let him. He may have improved the situation here, but he threw away the chance to post a great season. He is ready to move or else he would not have hired an agent.

Let’s clarify your assumption here. He’s had an agent since he got to Denton from Chapel Hill in 2015 (as does every other HFC and major college coordinator). He changed agencies this season to Jimmy Sexton’s firm.

Ummm he completed close to 70% of his balls... had 7 drops that I can remember and over threw JG 1 time....Fine did enough to help us win.  Early on he had 0 protection

Great point. Smith dropped a surefire TD on a fourth down, Guyton had multiple drops. The overthrow to JG was with about a 15-20 mph wind.

Mason was definitely hampered, but played with a ton of grit. Good sign; now we just have to get him healthy for this week as this will be the best defensive front we've seen to date.

Just remember that, as I recall reading, he had a brace on until the previous game. He really started to shine when the brace came off. I hope it is not that knee, the one that he just spent so many months and so much effort rehabilitating.

This particular injury was on the opposite knee, which is the same one her tore in high school. The knee with the brace was the one he tore at SFA, and rehabbed here at UNT while redshirted.

Regarding the celebrations, I saw one for sure that was clearly choreographed. That was annoying.

Mason was not just limping between plays. The tv announcers even noted that it didn’t look like he was following through on his passes because he couldn’t fully put his weight on his front leg. The 10 yard passes were still on but he clearly could not heave it deep like that.

Trust me, they want to win as bad as anyone here, and put in a hell of a lot more work towards that goal. As long as they aren’t drawing a flag for it, let the players enjoy playing the game and celebrating with their teammates.

A gimpy Mason, with the adrenaline that he has during a game, is the best option we have at QB, particularly in the fourth quarter of a key conference matchup.

I hope they were all at the game.  That atmosphere was amazing and would solidify in the recruits mind that they made the right decision.

The majority of commits were in attendance.

I wanted to go. Its home. Kids... If you or anyone else need a heads up up on cool places to go, let me know.

Also, for anyone going, there will be plenty of seats. You'll want to sit on the press box side. The people are way nicer. (Season ticket side) Seating isn't going to be an issue. The other side was a bit miserable last time I watched us play there.

Which restaurants offer the best margaritas? Have seen Carlos and Mickeys marketing that, but would love some local insights. Thanks in advance!

Probably gonna get down votes, too, but @NorthTexan95 is right. The TV showed his knee was down, and he was inches away. If he had stretched, he'd have probably made it, but the risk of fumbling right on the goal line was too large/the tackle happened so quick, he didn't have the chance to think about stretching his arm out.

Yes. And in all fairness to Darden, at that point in the game, you know he was highly conscientious of protecting the football.

My guess is that he will stay here with Mason for his senior year. But if the right job comes available to his liking (see PJ Fleck moving to Minnesota from western michigan) I can easily see him taking the money while the iron is hot—but it would have to be a better job than Texas Tech, I’d  guess. People mention UNC and that one will intrigue him, I’d bet. I’d be surprised if he turned that kind of offer down...

No, he will not be back at North Carolina. He is making UNT into a better job than North Carolina. I'm with @Venson in that It is going to have to be the right one, and probably the last one. Like a LSU, Oklahoma, aTm, etc. Something near his family, near his vacation home, and that pays $5mm+ year. You won't see him on a Coast or in the Texas panhandle again.

Bump him to $2+mm (which will blow CUSA out of the water, and that's exactly what we need to do), bump the assistant and support staff pool, continue to invest in facilities and the program to where it resembles a strong P5 (think Boise, UCF, Houston, etc.).

There's no telling how incredible UNT can be.

We are just starting to get a small sampling of it, thanks to the leadership of the University, Athletic Department, and Football Program; and you know from a guy like Littrell's competitiveness and viewpoint it tastes really damn good. And this is just the beginning...

OU Head Football Coach Lincoln Riley's quote about Mason Fine from the SportingNews :

"And so we knew he was a great player. His film was really, really good. I loved him as a player. Would have brought him here in a heartbeat. But when I knew he was going with Seth ... I was happy about that. I knew what they were doing offensively would really fit him.”

Remember the Riley was a GA on the Texas Tech staff when Littrell was the RB’s coach.
