Leaching on to the jet story?  Nope, just pointing out the absurdity of complaining about it.  It’s funny how people are happy with the staff through three seasons, and then this year expectations aren’t met and people pick at everything.

Exactly. Look at the contract, he took over $100K less so he could have the access to the airplane for a certain number of hours for personal use.

I'm not crazy about all the transfers. It just feels dirty (and a wee bit shady)

Otherwise, shaping up to be a fantastic and fun game, looking forward to a good challenge, and a great battle of the QBs!

One can't blame Dykes for trying to put together a competent roster. Morris left the majority of the cabinet bare, and Sonny needed to bridge the game until his recruits could develop.

ACU was only allotted 700 tickets which are long gone. Most of my friends bought theirs from Stub Hub or another reseller. Some are planning to buy walk up tickets on game day,

Great news! Should be a fun day for football in Denton, with a solid amount of visitors in purple.

....not if anyone had read this article last October......https://sports.yahoo.com/8-college-football-teams-not-want-play-right-now-173427207.html

I read it and went "Oh Shit" when our bowl opponent was announced.

Yes, they were really, really good. We have drawn tremendously tough bowl opponents recently. Arguably Top 3 G5 teams in the country each of the last three years.

    good stuff Brett.

Man...Bill Clark is under a LOT of pressure this year. He lost so many players and he's about to come back down to earth and have to follow the rules like everyone else.

If he went 6-6 and then next year slid to 5-7 or something....that would be bad and it's certainly possible. He's making loads of money and they're trying to build a new stadium in a state that fights them at every turn and has no use for them.

Their rise is a little bit of smoke and mirrors. People got so caught up in the good story of them coming back, they forgot how bad they were before they shut their program down.

Big pressure the next couple of years. They have to keep winning and building support. The latter is not easy there.

This is a major story to watch in the C-USA West this season and in future years. UAB benefited from major loopholes in recent seasons, and now is on an even playing field with the rest of the league. It'll be interesting to follow.

Certainly is possible.  The other schools are taking Littrell’s eval’s more seriously now after seeing  MF’s stock rising, especially in regards to his draft interests.

So now the P5 world has realized......if Seth Littrell see’s talent...then its talent I also must consider.

    Rick

Very true. Look at the offers that come soon after we extend an offer to a prospect...

    Also forgot to mention.

    All-Texas College Team

    Best QB Mason Fine

    First Team Offense:

Mason Fine, Rico Bussey, DeAndre Torrey

    Second Team:

Kelvin Smith, Sosaia Mose, Elex Woodworth

Note: Sam Ehlinger UT QB and cover model on Second Team.

    First Team Defense:

    Khairi Muhammad

    Second Team:

    LaDarius Hamilton

Excellent publicity for UNT. If we can keep Mason upright, we will be in for an incredible year.

If during a game, there were to be a lightning delay, would North Texas be permitted to stay loose by going to the IPF ?  And if so, would the opponent also have to be given access to the IPF ?

This happened to us at Liberty this year. The answer is "yes", UNT would be able to use their home facility. The visitors were not allowed to use Liberty's during the delay, even though the visiting locker room facility was inside their new IPF.

Haven’t heard much about Whitlock so far this spring. A little disappointing for a plug-and-play CB recruit.

He's less than 10 practices into FBS football. Give the kid some time to adjust to scheme and the game at this level. Remember these RS Freshmen like Crosby have been through an entire summer and fall of practices. Typically Year 2 is better for the JC kids anyways.

If I'm a head coach I look at recruiting, school administration, facilities, and salary for me and my staff.  Consistency and winning tradition only goes so far.  It's a what-have-you-done-lately that matters to recruits.  FAU has no tradition and no fan support.  La Tech is in the middle of no where.  So Miss can't pay their coaches.  Marshall has to rely on questionable "students" to compete.

The top three jobs are probably us, La Tech, and Marshall.  Honestly, if all CUSA teams were trying to hire the same head coach, who would that coach pick?  Right now it would be very difficult for that coach to pass on North Texas.

Agreed, except La Tech cannot pay what we do. Our location, budget, and recruiting base are second to none in the league.
