  1. I also notice that:

    - they've been installing railings on the stairways of the lower bowl (2:50pm is a good time). Curious that they're doing that before the benches go in.

    - they've been working on putting up the railings on the back rows of the wings/tail which is smoothing out the ragged lines (4:19pm & 4:32pm are good times).

  2. Assuming that the reliefs are still to be incorporated into the new stadium somehow, I don't think that they will literally remove them from Fouts. They are part of the concrete, I believe. Just a guess - they could make "negatives" of them using plaster, and then cast new concrete "positives" just a few inches thick, and then mount them wherever they chose to.

  3. I'm just old enough to remember reading Pogo as a kid, but I was too young then to understand it. If it still existed today, it would be on the editorial page, not on the comics page.

Few people realize that Pogo was actually based on Churchill.

Fun fact; Marmaduke is actually a thinly fictionalized chronicle of Abraham Lincoln's life and political career. SPOILER ALERT: The final comic is going to be a MAJOR downer.

And Garfield is based on President James Garfield!

:thumbsu: I'll give you a +1 to offset whoever gave you a -1.

  4. Sun Belt members North Texas and Louisiana-Lafayette have also been repeatedly mentioned as potential targets, even though the former has spurned WAC advances on numerous occasions, most recently last November. Four rival athletic directors said chatter about any potential defections has been non-existent.

My guess is that he (the other dmccarney) means that he talked to four other Sun Belt ADs, looking to find out if NT or ULL were looking to leave for the WAC.

  5. That's a home game for UH - I wonder if it will be played at Robertson Stadium, or moved to Reliant Stadium. If it's at Robertson, there's another hole shot in the theory that big name teams won't play in a 30,000-seat stadium.

Interesting - UCLA will then play at Rice in 2012. Another school wanting to recruit the state more.
