Unfortunately, this doesn't look to be an extension of the deck.

It's hard to tell from the construction cam whether the structure is tall enough to allow trucks to drive through, but I would think that would be a requirement.
I also wonder whether the openings are wide enough to allow small vehicles (the Model A?) to get onto the field.

Although this is tangentially related to NT Basketball, I didn't think it belonged in that forum:

"First off, Florida International University should flat-out fire Isiah Thomas..."

I miss the invitaaaaaaaaaaaaa-tion!
the North Texas Bowwwwwl!
GMG!
That always reminds me of the public defender in "My Cousin Vinny"!

Assuming that the reliefs are still to be incorporated into the new stadium somehow, I don't think that they will literally remove them from Fouts. They are part of the concrete, I believe. Just a guess - they could make "negatives" of them using plaster, and then cast new concrete "positives" just a few inches thick, and then mount them wherever they chose to.

So, was Calvin really based on John Calvin ?
Yes, and Thomas Hobbes. Go look it up on Wikipedia.

I don't miss hearing "Eye of the Tiger" over and over. "Fly Like an Eagle" is a masterpiece in comparison.
At least Patrick Cobbs is in the NFL as well as DeAngelo Williams.

That is sickening. It reminds me of the Treaty Oak in Austin. I hope that they'll be able to save at least some of the trees.
What punishment is realistic for something like this?

I told that ****** at the league office....
All right, I can see you don't want to be cheered up here, Dude.

You have got to buck up, man. You cannot drag this negative energy in to the tournament!

I'm just old enough to remember reading Pogo as a kid, but I was too young then to understand it. If it still existed today, it would be on the editorial page, not on the comics page.
Few people realize that Pogo was actually based on Churchill.
Fun fact; Marmaduke is actually a thinly fictionalized chronicle of Abraham Lincoln's life and political career. SPOILER ALERT: The final comic is going to be a MAJOR downer.
And Garfield is based on President James Garfield!
I'll give you a +1 to offset whoever gave you a -1.

It's a tail! I think I'd like to check out the view from one of the top corners, just for the hell of it. Maybe we could get Bob Uecker to do a commercial for us - what would be the best football equivalent of "He missed the tag!"?

A Churchill quote comes to mind, "I have seen the enemy and it is us" or something like that.
Actually, that was Walt Kelly's Pogo comic strip. The actual quote is "We have met the enemy and he is us".
But, I see your point.

Why is a picture of FAU's stadium attached to our article?
That's what I said!
The more important question to me is why the picture associated with the article appears to be of FAU's stadium, and not ours.

Those are all bullet points on the new stadium page: http://www.unt.edu/stadium/index.htm. I don't think the page been changed since it was put up.
The more important question to me is why the picture associated with the article appears to be of FAU's stadium, and not ours.

Sun Belt members North Texas and Louisiana-Lafayette have also been repeatedly mentioned as potential targets, even though the former has spurned WAC advances on numerous occasions, most recently last November. Four rival athletic directors said chatter about any potential defections has been non-existent.

My guess is that he (the other dmccarney) means that he talked to four other Sun Belt ADs, looking to find out if NT or ULL were looking to leave for the WAC.

Check out the 11:48am Wednesday cam view of the stadium...it's all...melty-looking....

The camera isn't working, so they sent Dali to paint the stadium.

Is it a coincidence that the word denial starts with Denia?

OK, then - motion seconded!

Would it be worth waiting until they've finished pouring the concrete for the lower bowl? It looks like they're moving pretty quickly again now that the weather has gotten better.

For those of us who don't live near Denton - they're taking care of us too - free webcast for both the women's and men's games!

Houston will get beat up by UCLA before playing us...
http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa-11/conf-usa/2011-houston-cougars-football-schedule.php
That's a home game for UH - I wonder if it will be played at Robertson Stadium, or moved to Reliant Stadium. If it's at Robertson, there's another hole shot in the theory that big name teams won't play in a 30,000-seat stadium.
Interesting - UCLA will then play at Rice in 2012. Another school wanting to recruit the state more.

I'll make a guess that his parents are divorced.
He better be singing the Aggie War Hymn!

I also notice that:
- they've been installing railings on the stairways of the lower bowl (2:50pm is a good time). Curious that they're doing that before the benches go in.
- they've been working on putting up the railings on the back rows of the wings/tail which is smoothing out the ragged lines (4:19pm & 4:32pm are good times).
