We lost in a Bowl that claimed 12,000 in attendance.  There might be more people on campus during the fall semester on an away game Saturday.   🙄.  If you were one of the few UNT Football fans who watched or went to the game I applaud your loyal support.  But I don’t know what you are saying.  They lost to a Boise State program in such good shape their head coach Andy Avalos  got fired just a month ago.   Bowl games are worthless now more than ever because any of your players that put on an impressive show might use that to jump into the portal.

sidebar: I would love to add Andy Avalos to the defensive coaching staff as a replacement in waiting for Caponi.

Seth Littrell coached them to that bowl game but not in that bowl game. Bennett coached that bowl game. Bowl attendees did have the chance to see the new coach (Morris) during the pregame stuff though. I don’t know how you specifically pin that particular low attendance on Littrell, if he was the big issue wouldn’t more folks have come out to show their support for the AD in firing him and also for the newly hired coach?

Many colleges require a minimum number of hours to be completed at the institution to receive a degree.  The number is typically about 30 or the equivalent of two full time semesters.

Thank you. Rogers has most likely completed 30 hours since he arrived before last spring.

For one, he stated in the recent DRC Mean Green newsletter that "We have a lot of confidence heading into the off season.  We understand how close we are."

Last March Gumms was talking about why he chose to stay at North Texas and how spring workouts were going with the new staff while on Sanoe’s show. A week later he entered the portal. Until week 1 of the 2024 season comes, I’m not convinced of anything.

I’m sure this was meant to be a facetious comment.. but outside of Maclin, Ayo, Wilson, Miner and Febechi I don’t see staff losing any sleep over any one else that has hit portal so far. And 3 of the 5 I listed were walk ons and 1 of the others only offer out of portal was UNT. Sucks losing them. But it’s happening to everyone. There is over 1000 guys in portal right now. Almost 10 per team

No disrespect was attached to my comment. I was simply saying what I had seen said. It was in no way a swipe at you.

  5. @UNTFan94 I love Todd Dodge, truly, but I think he is happy doing what he is doing. He gets to enjoy football at his own pace now. I just had my kids in one of his minicamps this past weekend. He is holding another one this weekend. Best quarterback coach in the country as far as I am concerned. Anyways, I don’t think he wants to go back to the requirements of a full-time gig. He gets to enjoy his family and friends too much to go back to the daily grind. Now if you want to take advantage of that connection and make the most of it, you probably need to do your best to grab Riley Dodge instead. I think that would be a stellar hire.

  6. If you are of the mindset that FSU shouldn’t be in bc they wouldn’t be favored in a head to head over Texas or Alabama right now, then you should also be of the mindset that Texas shouldn’t be in bc if they played tomorrow they would definitely be dogs to Georgia and probably Ohio State too.

  7. Plain and simple Texas lost to Houston except for extremely questionable calls. I’m sure the powers that be did what they could to keep Texas afloat.

Reminds me of when the refs gifted them the win over us too.

Part of the time-honored tradition of referees screwing other teams to the benefit of Texas.

Do we know for sure that Rogers will graduate this spring or does he need to wait until grades are in to be able to use the free transfer?

Don’t know about his grades but do know that, unless he took a hiatus from school, this spring would be his 10th semester and even at the minimum fulltime per semester credit hours of 12, he’d be right around the number of credits needed to graduate.

We had a true freshman on the roster this season, Dylan Gebbia. So it'd be Head and Gebbia. I wonder if Stone leaving is an indication that Rogers is staying though.

I hope so but I don’t trust anything until the first game week comes. Most of the spring we were led to believe Jace Ruder was the clubhouse leader as the starting quarterback only for him to become a linebacker by the end of the season. Then we had players at other positions that transferred out dang near to fall practice. This portal stuff has everything out of whack.

Revenue sharing is on the way without a doubt (and good for the players).  That will have a self-regulating effect on the market/NIL.

How would that work though? Schools like Texas and A&M I could see that working for but what about schools like yours where money is mostly generated by donations and not necessarily generated by demand for the product. I am not being disrespectful here, the same would apply to us minus the donation part.

Offensive Analyst Jason Smith posted this a few minutes ago. He also played in NFL and works with the O Line too.

Can we assume he gets the O Line Coach role?

That would be phenomenal. He is great and the players love him. #2 pick in the draft right behind Matthew Stafford.
