Kind of my point. If what we're aiming for is beating the teams we should beat and losing to the teams we should lose to then what are we doing?

The question asked how differently would we feel if we'd had beaten FIU and still lost the other games. Well, I'd feel the same as previous years. Margin of loss means little to me once the game is over. A loss is a loss. The only thing we have more this year than years past are moral victories.

    I agree

Well recently, Mac was a big mistake. Littrell was a big mistake. Foolish one sided contracts were big mistakes.

We lost what, 10 years of building a strong program by foolish, inept decisions by our administrators?

Ok who wasn’t a mistake football wise and who would you have hired that was available?

    Marshall at Appalachian St.

    Game sold out last July.

    Two Sun Belt teams.

North Texas is not a DI football program.

App State is not like other G5s. By your logic I guess there are zero G5 DI football programs in the state of Texas.

At one of the top P5’s in the nation? Yeah, it can be done.

A tale as old as time. An Air Raid guy can’t find a defensive coordinator to slow the opposition enough to win big games. How many titles do air raid head coaches have (without the Bob Stoops premade setup)? What percentage of the seasons they have coached represent?

If we're going to be ok with losing games we should "expect" to lose, bring back Littrell or just do away with the program (again).

The difference is Littrell would’ve beaten FIU handily. He was frustrating but better than those before and after him.

Wow, this so wrong it doesn’t warrant I thoughtful response.  But I will try.

    1. Morris has faced tougher competition

This is absurd. Outside of Cal, and maybe, (maybe), Tulane, who was the tougher competition?

We played several of the same teams as last year. Temple and Navy are not good.

We were 7 points closer against Memphis but still lost.

We were 4 points closer against UTSA but still lost (although I’d argue last year’s UTSA game was closer despite the final score).

We were 45 points worse against FIU and lost when we beat them last year.

We were 17 points worse against LaTech but still won.

Based on common opponents, we are one game worse than last year. The only way for Morris to change that would be to beat SMU or UAB and I don’t see either happening.

Dr Harris is a smart QB and I am glad he finally going to be out of UTSA.  He keeps his cool and knows when to throw it away.   I think UTSA has much replacing him as we did with Mason Fine.  Wonder if Traylor will take a big payday somewhere else while he is looking good.

Pretty crazy to think he is only one high school class younger than Mason. Jaelon Darden and Frank Harris were in the same recruiting class and Jaelon has already been in the NFL for 3 years.

Honest question. Should Jared have put his foot down when Morris wanted to hire a DC with no coordinator experience, or do you let the new HC hire who he wants?

I think you trust the guy calling plays against defenses over the last 2 decades. I doubt Mosely would have better luck picking one himself. I get the Todd Dodge/RV bit but at least Caponi has been around the college game awhile.

OT: so there is a Jalon Daniels at Kansas, and Rice has a starting QB named JT Daniels.

Are either of these guys related to former Mizz QB Chase Daniels, or maybe to each other?

The surname of the Mizzou/Southlake quarterback is Daniel, not Daniels.

LAWRENCE — Kansas football coach Lance Leipold found himself addressing the injury status of junior quarterback Jalon Daniels again on Monday....

"And when Jalon Daniels is healthy Jalon is the starting quarterback, OK?”

In the games Daniels has missed, that redshirt senior quarterback Jason Bean has started, Kansas is 3-2. In the games Daniels has played and started in, Kansas is 3-0. Together, those marks have the Jayhawks at 6-2 overall — with a 3-2 mark against the Big 12 Conference.

    I was being sarcastic.

What are you trying to say about Bean? Is he a quality QB or not?

    Quality? No

Talented enough to make a couple game breaking plays every week that affect the outcome? Definitely.

To be fair Jason Bean is absolutely balling for Kansas right now. Just upset OU.

That's more of an indictment on Littrell and his lack of quality QB coaching after Harrell left.

So is it also an indictment on Leipold and his lack of quality QB coaching?

Yes I'm serious. The team has gotten better each game. Does that mean it's good (especially the defense)? No. But I see progress each game.

They have only gotten better each week because they started the season much worse than they should have. We weren’t bad last season. I will hold judgment until we show something against both UTSA and SMU. If we can beat UTSA and keep it competitive with SMU then I may give you and Morris your due.

Looks very similar to Aune stats in some of his gamas and those games were not against top ten ranked OU with a great Defense Coach as their head coach.  🤷🏽‍♂️. Seth finally pivoted to run heavy game plans.  I wonder what Bean's home run threat legs would have done for the read option looks they predominantly ran out of?  Anyone that watched those games knows that the 3 headed running back monster perserved Seth's job for an extra season.

Those run heavy game plans led to Aune setting the program record for touchdown passes in a season.
