Like this young man's video. He has a nasty streak which is good for an O-Lineman.

I've been saying this for years. It doesn't really matter now--we aren't going out there for two reasons:
1. The MWC ain't inviting us anytime soon.
2. Our fans don't want to go there. They want to play in CUSA against regional teams. I think it's a gigantic mistake, but not much you can do but accept it. Same with how they accepted SMU as a premier home opponent at Apogee.
1. Probably correct.
2. The only way our fans will keep us out of a conference is by not supporting the team via attendance and donations. The conferences don't poll the fans to see what they want.

Welcome home young man.

I was hoping Vito would have a story on some of these young men that have left.
-
I guess my next question is if this has been confirmed? @Brett Vito, have you heard anything?

Either way, sorry to see him go, but if he wasn't buying in, then it was time to go.

Another subtraction from the roster - 2015 WR signing Rodney Bendy is no longer on the roster.
Also @NorthTexan95, a few updates to the spreadsheet, JUCO OL Signee Jalen Thomas needs to be added to the spreadsheet, OL Garrett Gunter is on scholarship, former tight end Wylie Reinhardt has been moved to offensive line, Kenny Buyers is now a receiver, JUCO QB signee Devin O'Hara is now on the roster, and as previously mentioned Jalen Montgomery is no longer on the roster.
Will Bendy be missed? Had he produced anything?

Yes. and its the repeated setbacks on their injuries that are frustrating, but maybe that's just my kinesiology degree talking.
Have the same degree and have used it for over 20 years and I don't see the point you are trying to make. Who specifically are you referring to regarding recurring injuries? Fielder? Not much you can do with a herniated disc in his neck. It is the result of his swing, the same swing that earned him over $100 million. Choo? Again, it appears to be a disc issue, something that doesn't not gel with swinging sports like golf and baseball.

We usually get a little bump after the last big camp of the summer.

The way that guy runs defense, I'm kinda surprised he didn't end up at Austin Westlake.
Just too lazy to look at how his past defenses performed, but was his defensive system a result of our personnel or was his system his system?

Turner Smiley is a good kid that will be just fine. I will be rooting for him to get past this and if it keeps the same thing from happening to other kids...then we will all be okay.
Sounds like you know him. That is good to hear. I am pulling for him.

There hasn't been any movement on the recruiting/committment front since this past weekend's camp.

Let's look at what Smiley DIDNT do.
The reporting seems to indicate that he hit a parked car or other fixed object (no mention of another driver and Smiley called police himself). He didn't leave the scene of the accident. He could have left a note on the car he hit, left his car, and gone home and reported the next morning to avoid a DWI charge. But he didn't. He stood up and took responsibility for what he did. He called police on himself. He didn't lie about drinking or apparently how much he had (5 beers over a couple of hours would put his BAC at about the level he tears for). He told the officer he shouldn't have been driving.
Yes, he made the initial mistake but didn't complicate it by hiding his behavior. This is a lesson several posters on here recently demonstrated they haven't learned at a much older age.
Glad it was only one game. Give this fact set, I may have made it for just the first half of the SMU game.
This. Smiley handled it like a lot of adults would not. Honestly, I am proud of him and fully expect him to work hks way back in to a starting position. There are a number of professional athletes, celebrities and others that could learn something from his actions.

Denton Guyer DB that showed an offer from us has committed to Okie State. I thought there was a thread on him, but did not find it.

Seriously, there is the train track that parallels Hwy 377. It runs from downtown Fort Worth to the A Train station in Denton. I wonder what it would take to add a commuter line to that track? The tracks that run behind the soccer stadium and Loveless Field runs out of Dallas County.

Not disagreeing with you, just don't understand the infatuation with social media and posting everything one does at all hours of the day.
And if you all would read the post above from back in May, you would see that I don't disagree with the use of social media, I just don't understand the infatuation with it. I have an employee that has trouble going a minute without checking something and panics when he can't find his phone.
Back to Jackson, guess we got out tweeted.

Anyone know if there will ever be a train service between FW and Denton?
There is. Take the T to Dallas, catch Dart to Carrollton, switch to A train and there you go.

What difference does it really make?
This. UNT athletics is bigger than any one individual. Bigger than Odus Mitchell, Hayden Fry, Mean Joe, etc... All great men, all contributed to our past as will those that follow. Very few weremtotal failures, and whether you liked them or not, most did something positive except maybe Helwig. Even Trilli, as bad as he was at coaching, got rid of the orange seats in the SP. Why should we harp on our perceived failures of past employees. Let them go in peace and support the program moving forward.

Well, considering they haven't started Fall practice, I am not sure how they are to evaluate them.
