Maybe you should have screened better.
I mean, if 2 are bad, they all HAVE to be bad, right?
Ahh, playing to old assumption game again. They cleared screenings and had their degrees, but lacked a basic understanding of our business and didn't want to work hard. Having a lack of basic principles of our business, yet obtaining a degree in that field tells my that are not properly prepared by the school.

Worthless. 90 is always right in his mind and will twist results/comments to fit his agenda. Should work on the Hillary campaign. Perfect fit.

Who is Greenlee and who is Elder that are referred to in the story?

While I am sure the Big 12 would like to include A&M's positive achievements, it seems that the SEC might have an opinion on that.
Damn it. Thanks for reminding me.

So, we have basically known for a while that these two would not make it, or they had the opportunity to improve their grades and didn't.

What did Coach Littrell say about the players that aren't here? I second that.

Technically it's a neutral site game, not a roadie.
Is it in Houston? It is a roadie.

“Today pissed me off,” Littrell says. “We had to put extra strain on your bodies, we had to keep you here later, because some of you decided to be selfish. If anyone knew they were going to leave and allowed it to happen, it’s just as much your fault as it is theirs. Depending on how we do tomorrow will determine how we finish practice. This team still owes me one. Either you’ll pay me on the field or we’ll do it again.”
Love This!!!

Lolz. Hardly, but whatever it takes to pretend to have a rivalry, right?
I work with several SMU grads who are smart, hardworking peeps.
But again, that doesn't jive with your football rivalry generalizations.
So according to your view, all UNT students must be poor, stupid working class people who couldn't get into a better school, right? Because isn't that the way this foolish game works?
I have hired two in my past. Never again. They didn't know how to work or think without someone holding their hand.

Just messing with you. I agree that if they can't qualify out of high school and through the JUCO process, then they probably don't need to be at a university eating a scholarship someone better suited could utilize. Wish we had Johnson and Hayes, but as Coach Littrell said, we can only worry about the players we have, not the ones we don't have.

Different times.
Really? Guess it depends on the conference.

Why would the Big XII not be a power conference? Last year alone that had the following highly ranked teams:
Football: #3 OU, #14 TCU, #19 OSU, and #21 Baylor
Men's Basketball: #3 Kansas, #4 OU, #14 WVU, #15 Iowa State and #24 Baylor
Women's Basketball: #4 Baylor, #7 Texas, #23 WVU, and #24 OU
Baseball: #3 TCU, #4 Okie State, #6 Texas Tech
Softball: #1 OU, #12 Missouri, #21 Baylor and Texas just barely missed being ranked following out of the final poll.
Pretty stout results.

The single best thing SMU could do for us is to stop this series and allow our new AD to actually attempt to schedule someone that might be ranked above 100 at some point in a preseason poll.
Let SMU go...they don't want to play us anyway, unless it helps them. Right now, they need the wins, but if they become a winner this year or next, they will drop us in a heartbeat. And that would be the chance for an improving Littrell team to actually schedule and beat a team at home that would bring some much needed attention to the program
Have to disagree. We should play the other Metroplex schools. SMU is a natural fit on our schedule with the animosity between the students and the bragging rights for the local players.

Moore is a third year guy, correct? I have always heard that he didn't see eye to eye with his coaches. If correct, I hope he has matured and is ready to contribute.

This was never an issue for Dexter Manley and Okie State or Byron Hanspard at Texas Tech.

Curious, considering our thin numbers at DL, why we would move Wegman to OL considering he is listed at 265 lbs?

Aw shucks, I don't even have to be around and you guys still think of me.
Anywho, Dimel is our version of Todd Dodge with a few dashes of McCarney. 8-26 over 3 years and the only coach in school history to run an antique pro style offense at UH instead of up-tempo spread.
Then there was Bill Yoeman, but who's counting.

But, but, but, McCarney has skins on the wall. He must be knowledgable about QB recruitment and development.
Did you see his ring?! And to question his evaluation talents.

I think there IS a "why the hell didn't Mac/Chico give him a shot with what we rolled out last year?" movement. But that is in the past, I don't know if anyone actually expects Shanbour to start...
Except Silver, Shanbour may be his love child.
This. I honestly have not seen Morris or Shanbour in live action, but I don't want us to discount someone because he isn't 6'3". Talent wins at this level. Morris will and probably should start, but if Shanbour is the back-up, then so be it.

So I'm assuming that the athletic department's recap of the practice, which also described Morris as a vocal leader of this team, is part of the anti-Shanbour conspiracy too?
Well, the AD's recap did not include a comment about Shanbour, like Vito's, did it?

This young man will earn a scholarship in no time. Mark my words. He will be Wes Welker 2.0, but instead of receiving concussions, he will deliver them.

Jenkins was shown in his new practice jersey the other day. I think this will all shake out in the next few days. Some of the walk-ons that we know are on campus are not even listed yet.

Holston is in Denton, at least his twitter account says he is there. I would be surprised he would travel to Denton, post tweets about being here and then not be eligible.

So our top 2 rated recruits didn't make it. Just effin great.
As Vito reported, waiting on paperwork. I don't think they are ruled out, just waiting on grades to post.

The winning at all cost model is running rampant in college athletics.
What is the difference in "will not play the first game" and "suspended for the first game?" We would have done the same, in fact, are we not doing the same with Smiley?
