  1. Ok, to make the rest of this game interesting if not bearable, lets all guess MTSU's finally point total. I'm going with 79. Phillip Tanner = Sun Belt Offensive Player of the week. Would be interesting to know how many of these this year were playing UNT when they won the award.
  2. Love that special teams improvement!! Good thing we got a lot of work in during that week off!! Freaking embarassing! Special teams is coaching. We can't even kick an extra point consistently. I really don't see how Dodge survives this season.
  3. ill be there also. Is the tailgating any good since school is out for the holidays? Trying to decide if I shoul tailgate or just go to the pourhouse before the game.
  4. I have absolutely no inside info. It will be interesting to see if Deloach abandons ship for another job if Dodge is allowed to stay. If Deloach is suddenly offerred an "oppurtunity I can't refuse" as a position coach at another Sun Belt level school and takes it, that will say a lot about this program. That is if Deloach can get another job after the pathetic performance of his defense this year. We all are graded on our job performance, and Dodge will be also. Just don't know if he survives this abomination of a season.
  5. Really don't see much changing next year. Most frustrating is 0 improvement in all 3 phases of the game this year, and regression on defense from the LSU game. Wouldn't be suprised to see Dodge leave voluntarily or get the ax if we get blown out next week at home.
  6. 38 points before halftime. Good thing that defense is showing signs of improvement Have not said one thing negative about Dodge on here, but if he starts 0-4 next year, he will be gone. SOOOOO FRUSTRATING to be blown out by the second quarter in every game but one this year (OK, maybe 2 with LaLa, but really, did anyone really think that game was going to be any different at halftime??). Thank God basketball season is here. Anyone been to the Mean Green room at the BBall game. If so, is it worth the trip in there?
  7. Damn no facial expression computer screen!!
  8. NT is 3-0 is 3-0 in Murfreesboro but hasn't played there since 2005.
  9. Not correct. The arrest will always be on record at the arresting agency, but will not show on his criminal history, which is maintained by the state. Basically, if the same PD dealt with him again, they could see that he had an arrest through thier in house records (computerized nowadays), but no one else would have access to the info. Not even the courts. Especially not any future employer. The only records that employers can get (assuming not trying to get a law enforcement job or a job with security clearance) is records for convictions. Also, this is not a theft case, where the amount of merchandise taken determines the charge (misdemeanor or felony). This charge is Credit Card Abuse, which means he could of charged a 99 cent hot dog at 7-11 on the credit card and it still would have been a felony.
  10. Your dead on about expungement. Not hard to get at all. Just takes some $$. Me thinks Stebo a little confused about the legal process. But that is completely understandable.
  11. The main point of the post was to communicate that he confessed, and that confession would most likely include statements that he knew he wasn't supposed to be using that card. Wasn't trying to steal your thoughts.
  12. OR he could have confessed to police, who, being knowledgable about this type of crime and knowing that the crime must be committed intentionally or knowingly, probably established his culpability (that he did the offense intentionally and knowingly) in the confession. Whenever you have write that much to attempt to justify someone's actions, your just working to hard.....my 2 cents
  13. Pretty sure that the only organizations that would have access to the Deferred record would be law enforcement and District Attorney's Office. Even if I'm wrong (which I doubt), he could always petition the court for expungement of his criminal record. If granted, not even law enforcement (except for the county in which the offense occurred) could access that record.
  14. Well, at least he doesn't look like a Nick Nolte clone in his mug shot.
  15. I bet a quick guilty plea and 2 years Deferred Adjudication....unless they uncover numerous "friends" credit cards in his dorm room, god forbid!!!
  16. My bet is the parents reported this since it was probably thier card. The "friend" probably had no choice in the matter. But continue on with the hypothetical argument...
  17. As someone with some familiarity with the process, what will probably happen is Rucker will be given Deferred Adjudication, assuming his juvy record is clean and dependant on re-payment to the credit card company. Simplified, Deferred Adjudication means he will do a time period under probation-like conditions. At the end of this period, assuming he has met all the requirements of the court and has kept his nose clean, the charge against him will be dismissed. No felony conviction, no felony record. All the rights of regular citizens (jury service, etc..). The victim in these cases are the financial institutions, not the card holders, due to the fact that the financial institutions reimburse the card holder for the stolen amount of goods once they receive a police report from the card holder (probably the parents, by the way). So once the offense is reported, the financial institution becomes the victim and only they have the right to drop the charges. BUT, this is what normally happens in a larger county. Don't know about Denton County (reference the deferred adj. only).
  18. Shouldn't Elizabeth Smart be about college age now?!?!
  19. The bigger story is you went to the Parks Mall and escaped with your life (and hopefully all your property that you left in your vehicle while you were inside). That place is THE hang out for every south Dallas gangster that has a ride. I've also checked that new Academy by The Parks and found no merchandise. Dude, seriously, shop at the Highlands. Much safer.
  20. “I don’t think that’s possible at all,” Bass said. Sometimes, it's not what you say, but how you say it.
  21. who gets the 2nd half kickoff?
  22. I am a grad from 1990 that recently found myself coming back to UNT for events. Partly because of the success the football and basketball team enjoyed, partially because work and personal schedules eased and afforded me the time to become more involved. Before this year, I usually made 2 football games a year and about 3 basketball games a year. This year is my first year to be a season ticket holder for football and Mean Green Club member. That said to say this: I would hate to see any fan (speaking in general) of this program who has been dedicated to this program for years leave right before things get good. Maybe because people have been so close to this program for so long, they develop a myopic view. Todd Dodge will either win next year or be fired. RV, love him or hate him, will not be here forever. But, this year the STUDENTS vote an increase to their own fees in order to fund a NEW STADIUM, something that, from what I understand from this board, was simply a dream for years! I don't understand why people that have supported this program for so long would want to leave when the dream is this close. This stadium will produce better recruits, better future coaches, more revenue, and a better team. Try not to think about this year, but 3 years from now when all of your loyalty is rewarded when you watch that first game in a new stadium. When 35,000 fans pack the stadium for opening day to see North Texas Football. Yea, the football this season sucks, we may go 0-12, everyone at work may tease us as they root for a school in which they never attended a class, but I personally have had a great time enjoying the game day atmosphere (of which there was NONE when I attended UNT) and will renew my season tickets as soon as possible next year. Good times are coming.
