Thanks - and appreciate you diving in on him. I think for what I'm getting at, I need to look at game logs by half and see if there is any difference between the team numbers. I'd also hate for this to come across like I am saying folks aren't in shape, either. We play an extremely active, high level of defense that has tired me out just watching, so it really was a curiosity followed by a question - are 3-4 made FTs a worthwhile tradeoff for that level of defensive intensity? If I'm even right, my answer is yes, but until I can sit and look or some kind soul checks for me - even if it is to totally own my dumb idea - I just don't know.

No data, but free throw shooting is a combination of focus and technique. I'd think both suffer somewhat when tired.

I watched some of their game with Michigan the other day and then watched some of our NCAA highlights and Ivey looks a lot more a man this year...a few added pounds of muscle and definition...dude is fantastic.

I look forward to a Sweet 16 rematch...

Maybe in jest, but a rematch would be so much fun. We're less of a put it all on one guy (Javion) to win it team this year.

  3. Someone really overlooked though and extremely important has been McBride. Dude has been getting better and better and hitting big shots. So important especially when they take Perry away which is easier to do because of his height.

You can't pound inside if you have no outside threat, and McBride has been providing that.

  4. Abou is really stepping up. His improvement from last year is 📈
T Bell is sometimes frustrating to watch, but in big games he is clutch. When it's a battle he most likely is going to win out.

It's so impressive how the team keeps improving game by game. Best coaching staff in CUSA.

Hear me out - we get the Argyle Police Department to donate one of those giant parking lot watching crane things they put out in malls around Christmas and Andrew sits up there from the middle concourse in the Pit until he can find Emmitt at the game and draw a nice picture of him. Once he's done, we all clap, mic him up and let him do play-by-play through a special streaming feed for everyone in a special upper deck section of the Pit that is typically reserved for bats and little kids who can't sit still in normal seats. Out of town fans can also donate $5 to hear the Andrew feed at home. Additionally, every Andrew picture is left on a special seat to reserve that seat as off limits for future games (don't sit on the marked seats!) and we slowly make our way around the top of arena each game.

Also, if Grant plays 10 players in a game, everyone who has ever been to a North Texas game gets a free Wendy's value menu item.

Now who wants to approach Buffalo Wild Wings about sponsoring a charter for a certain rematch so we can close out all the open plot threads?

This is the kind of content I used to enjoy on the site, but unfortunately it is rare anymore. I'd like my money back unless we get more of this.

You old timers are so weird. This is happening all the time outside the NCAA too in the business world. If I get a better opportunity somewhere, its about furthering myself. Leaving doesn't say anything about them. If Seth Littrell got a better offer, he'd do what's best for his family, not what's best for North Texas. Think about your current role in your job- wouldn't you go somewhere else for higher pay/exposure/opportunity?

Also I'd rather get the chance to play for a National Championship that for a 6-6 team that lost in a made up bowl to a MAC team. I don't fault them at all.

I agree with everything you said, and good for the players getting paid etc. However, the school gets nothing for the time and development of players. They should sign the players for contracts, and if they want to leave that's fine, then the players agent can get the new team to buy him out of his contract just like coaches.

  7. Look, a system that was broken for years is finally working for the players at least a little, and the rich will capitalize off it. The main issue is that the non-rich programs don't even get paid when they develop players. Just sign contracts, and if a kid wants to leave his agent has to get some team to buy him.

I mean the rich schools can just buy players now and then buy players they didn't buy the first time for free. It's laughable.

Thanks for the info.  A lot of urban myths over the years about the origin/approval of those orange seats.  Many felt it was a UTexas conspiracy, much like when UT-lover Craig Helwig was AD and changed the NT athletics logos to add burnt orange and navy blue in 1995.

BTW, all the UT-Something campuses had to add orange to their logos several years ago if not already using it.

Interesting, that logo looks more like a sports logo than our current one kind of. Especially if update to current colors (quick edit)

Helps to offset an otherwise mediocre class along with Perry.

Yeah the last class was suprising? considering the NCAA run, or maybe that takes another year to kick in. Perry is a great player but his lack of height makes him hard to be a consistent threat without other outside threats. It probably also reduced the competition for him.

Scott is a good find as he looks like a project offensively but is filling the Bell role from last year now that bell seems to be working on his NBA game each week during the game.
