I had the same question. I would assume there is a predetermined number of seats available for students so those seats aren't sold ahead of time.

Show me an Oklahoma drill vid that has the D usually making stops.
I can't so maybe I'm being a bit hard on them. I just saw a lot of poor defense in that video.
-
Going by that little big of Oklahoma drill it would appear we will have no issue running the ball. Granted, it was a short tape but I think there was maybe one time that I would count as a successful defensive stop.
I'm also glad that when we've seen videos of practice we've had the actual sound and not some blaring rock song.

$3M for that? Looks like a strip club and it even has the pole in the center ... not that I've ever been to a strip club.

I heard that Houston's band may make the trip to Denton (not sure if this is accurate) but I sure hope the GB blows them out of the water.
GB can blow any other band out of the water.

I think we're severely overrating the McCarney hire. Sure he's a respected coach but unless you're in Iowa or have some sort of connection to Mac nobody really knows the guy. Leach is known and recognizable nationwide. As for FAU getting him....I highly doubt it since he can get something a lot better. But if they do get him then more power to them...it greatly increases the perception of the league.
I think you're seriously underrating the McCarney hire. He is a VERY respected coach and everyone around college football has tremendous respect for the guy.
But let's assume you are correct when you say "unless you're in Iowa or have some sort of connection to Mac nobody really knows the guy". The thing is that he has "some sort of connection" to EVERYONE in college football. Now a lot of that is due to his personality. He's is so outgoing, so energtic that you can't help but like the guy. I also get the feeling he's one who never forgets a name.

It would be great for the conference to hire a coach like Leach which in turn helps us.

When you say you "Ran into..." him...did you knock him down??
He ran his car into Andrew. Andrew walked away ... the car was totalled.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Lots of really good stuff in that interview. Can't wait till the second part. The most memorable comment was about Clint Bowen and Royce Hill.

Step 1 ... get embarrassed by being denied by the SEC ... check!
Step 2 ... whatever

Someone gave you a -1 for this ... but I thought it was hilarious. +1 back!
... +1 to both of you. I also use my +1's to reward posters and right injustices from -1's.

Well, I don't have a hushed-up invite so I'll spread the rumor I was told. I heard it is a donation from our Thailand friend, close to $100 mil, to several departments, maybe a mil to athletics.
What?!?!? Once again Athletics gets the short end of the stick. Typical!
//end joke
If that rumor is any where close to being correct then I'll be shocked in a very good way. Even if it's closer to the $20 million previously rumored it will be amazing.
I would guess this is the same guy in Thailand that made a donation to help us get back to Div I football back in the 90's?

The announcement will be made this evening at a reception. My wife and I will be attending the reception. I believe it begins at 7:30PM, and I think it runs until about 9PM. I am sure it will be in tomorrow's papers.
I am really looking forward to attending and hearing first hand "what's up" and yes, I am hearing it is BIG. The number being thrown around is $20million plus...we'll see. Sorry i cannot say more at this time. I have been asked not to do so....soon...patience. Let's all just know that IS a big deal for UNT.
Feel free to post an update tonight once the news is announced.

Let's have a play-in game with Houston on September 10th. Winner gets the Big 12 spot.

I would be very surprised if things went the way this article predicts.

When I think of the Ags in the SEC I see Arkansas. The Ags will immediately become an also ran. I just can't see the Ags doing more than that. They'll become the Texas Tech of the SEC West.

After listening to the interview I think the radio guys were typical but Kevin Wilson definately had a bad attitude. He needs to be able to work with the media better than that.

No offense to those of you who like baseball, but unless adding baseball somehow definitely helps us move up the food chain, I'd prefer we spend the money on the sports we have now.
It will help.

I remember him talking about blowing out his knee - how it felt like someone had stuck a burnng branding iron inside of his knee. I remember that from when I injuried my own knee.

When RV hired Dan McCarney he said it was time for UNT football to grow up. I'm so glad this is happening not only on the field off it as well. I love that we appear to be gearing up to run our entire athletics program the right way.
-
I too am excited to have Chris Bynes back. I think he'll really surprise people. He's probably our best receiver, imo.
When the QB is talking like this about one of his receivers then I'd expect a lot of passes to come his way.
-
I love it. Keep the videos coming.
-
Looks like they've finally pulled the plug on the camera. About 4:30 this afternoon was the last picture. I guess McCarney doesn't want anyone peaking at the practices.

Is This Guy Our Breakout Receiver ?
in Mean Green Football
Posted
Exactly! If he was a few inches taller he would be a perfectly sized receiver. If he's still a 4.6 at 220 lbs then he should be able to break some tackles and make some plays.
