  1. the lettering should have been twice the size it is for highway traffic to easily see it. who makes these final decisions on size, lee jackson?

Mostly likely the architects made the call on the size for the best look - not for clarity from the interstate. Isn't there supposed to be a big banner hanging under the endzone seating that will be visible from the interstate?

  2. KingDL1 has taken some fantastic photos of the new stadium and surrounding buildings at UNT. We are wanting to get him back up there again as the construction is basically complete. This time we need to lend him a hand with the gas which is expensive. He would never ask for this, but I am going to for him. We have created a donation goal of $150 which should cover his costs to get the job done. Please consider throwing in a couple of buck for a good cause. I promise you the pictures he takes are well worth it!! All we need are 15 fans to give 10 bucks a piece and he's in the air!

I'll throw in $10 if there's a way to do it online (I'm in Virginia). Or I could mail a check somewhere.

  3. What football stories of great interest to the UNT community could those schools possibly have during the Summer months themselves? Recruiting violations?

How about movie night at the new stadium? How about the Eagle head statue going into the stadium for the players to touch on the way onto the field? How about Tony Mitchell being on the U19 National Team?

  4. It's better looking than most of the other buildings on campus. Or do you like brown square building with no definable features such as the Super Pit, GAB, and Willis Library?

Actually, I do prefer all three of those buildings to this one. This one just looks like they started to build one type of building and suddenly changed their mind.

  5. Nope, but dead birds falling on you can damn sure ruin a tailgate.

Are you sure about this? Just think ... you're running low on meats ... and plop! Another bird on the grill. In fact, during the fall when birds are migrating you might not need to bring any meat with you.

  6. BIG ASS BATTERIES PERHAPS? I mean really Big Ass batteries...can't the eco/green folks come up with some bad ass big ass batteries for this problem? Just sayin......

Big batteries cost big bucks and require lots of maintanence. We've come a long ways in battery technology in the last couple of decades but it still has a long ways to go.

There are some technological hurdles, that when finally crossed, will usher in a wave of technology that changes our lives. One big one is greatly reducing the cost of moving people and equipment from the Earth's surface into space. A second one is producing huge amounts of power from a very small device. One example is to have a car engine that can fit in your palm. Another example is that we could build a plasma light saber but you would need a nuclear power plant strapped to your back. Once we're able to produce large amounts of energy in a small device we will change how people live their lives. Finally, the ability to store large amounts of energy in a small device, for a long period of time, will also change our world.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

  7. I do not know the actual distances, but from the looks of it they could have moved it up in between 5-10 yeards to that yellow line behind the bench. I think this is coming across as complaining, but I'm just pointing out an observation.

Look at this picture of Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater. They seem to have their sideline seats about where the back white line is in the Mean Green Stadium sideline picture. The sideline seats appear to start anywhere from 6-8 feet high.

That's too close in my opinion. You're begging for a confrontation between fans and players.
