I hope this guy wasn’t ONLY watching the Liberty tape to come up with his opinion (All of his highlights were from the first half of that game).  Especially on his critical comments regarding Fine’s downfield accuracy, since that game was played in rainy/wet conditions... most QBs will struggle on downfield throws with a wet ball.

That complex seems to be at full occupancy. The lease spaces have some trouble outside of Chipotle and Potbelly, but they’re full up. Not subsidized at all, in fact are more expensive that comparable apartments elsewhere. None of these “student” housing complexes are actually restricted to only students. Will you be out of place if you rent there as a non student? Yes. But I know 20-somethings who have done it.

We’re talking money sports. Baseball doesn’t come close to moving the meter like basketball and football.

Rice. It wasn’t so long ago they won a natty in baseball plus their academic reputation alone is worth it.

And I am not sure what national championships MWC teams have won recently. You said “other sports than football” so I did not know you only meant revenue sports (which for G5 is likely none).  In addition to the above bolded of course. But yes I am aware MWC schools have done well in other sports and in football.

But I still stand by my original statement that Rice is the better opponent for NT and most of its fans. Most causal fans don’t know much about SDSU but they do about Rice. Plus they will not stay up late on a school night to watch us no matter the opponent.

I pick Houston and Cal as go-to wins, and a SMU win-by-chance-too.  An OOC hat trick, if you will.

The problem is that if we lose to SMUt that could drive down attendance for UH.

UH is a home game.  Gotta choose to win that one.

So now it's between 2 away games of Cal/Smut.

If Cal is ranked in the top 25, then that's an easy choice.

If not, then beat Smut any time.

God I would hate to lose to SMUT but a Top25 win would ease that pain considerably.

SMU and Houston. We directly compete with them for recruits. Cal would give us some street cred, but would that play better with recruits?  Our win vs Arkansas made a national splash because of the return. I don’t know. For me, it’s “let’s win Texas!”

They should call is something other than Esports...why? Simply put...it "ain't no sport".  Why don't we also look at scholarships for tattoo artists? call it Tat-Sports.  Why not? About as close to a sport as electronic games. Just saying.  Now, if this program is somehow integrated into a UNT program that develops video games and other on-line programs, well and good.  If it is a stand-alone "team", then..meh, not so much.

You should see the scholarships UTD gives our for its chess team.

  8. Avg rating if their recruits is almost exactly the same as last year. They have several highly rated 3 stars but also some very low 3 stars. In fact, they have the lowest avg in the conference. Their ranking is based on volume.

    https://247sports.com/Season/2020-Football/CompositeTeamRankings/?Conference=Big-12

I will note that they seem to have better energy and enthusiasm than previously - hence the high volume of verbals to this point.

I have last years sitting on my desk still... heres what we scored last year:

    QB - A

    RBs -B+

    OL - A-

    Rec - A+

    DL - C+

    LB -B-

    DB - B-

    ST - B

    Just to give some perspective...

    I think it wasn’t too off .

Post season I would change OL to B-;  DL to B+;   LBs to A; and DB to A.

Theyre always recruiting really hard in DFW.  Makes me wonder why we haven’t set up a home/home with them.

The elevation of Fort Collins is 5,003 feet (1,525 m), which is very high when compared to many other large cities around the United States, most of which tend to be situated at elevations of 500 feet (152 m) or less. The high elevation of Fort Collins is due to its location along the Colorado Front Range.”
