What was equally as important for UNT last season was the way both helped the Mean Green hold up at the line of scrimmage in a three-man front. UNT's linebackers were able to run free and make tackles.
This was, IMO, the reason for the defensive improvement last year as much as anything. The line allowed the LBs to make plays and get pressure, which in turn made the DBs job easier.

Hmm. I wonder what happened to CB Jordan Roberts? Maybe that explains the two late grad transfers.

Not sure that is complete. I think they added a player from Alabama this week.

I believe Rod Young was on the IR out of free agent camp.

“Fine could end up playing every snap all season. That's by far the best scenario for UNT”
In fact we don’t want Fine playing every snap. That would mean all the games are close and that no backups get in-game experience. That lack of experience really hurt us when Fine went down in the bowl game last year. I was so annoyed when Fine was in the game in the fourth quarter of blowouts last season.

I swear if we don't have a Big 12 or SEC lineup our fans are disappointed in the teams we face tear in and year out.

I think this is a great OOC schedule

I watched all but the end of the 4th quarter. I liked the running game and use of TEs. I didn’t love the short passing gameS

I might have to go find a game with their original starting QB to see how Reeder called it differently. I am assuming a lot of the short passing and QB keepers was a result of having to play the backup most of the year. I wasn’t too impressed with the short yardage calls in this game.

I love our “fans”
First it’s, “We aren’t winning”
Then it’s “Yeah, we’re winning but the other teams are horrible and we can’t string winning seasons together”
Then it’s “We’re winning, and have consecutive seasons of 9 victories, but we ALMOST lost games!”
I think this excerpt from the footballscoop article is fair and kind of where I am on our current situation:
At the same time, Littrell kinda sorta needs to put all the pieces together. The North Texas boosters and administration have answered every “Can we have this?” question with a resounding yes. An indoor facility is being constructed as we speak. Littrell has received two new contracts in three seasons on the job, making him one of the highest-paid coaches in the Group of 5. The 2017 Mean Green squad won the program’s first C-USA West Division championship but was outclassed by the Lane Train in two meetings, including the championship game. The 2018 team was a national sensation in September but blew double-digit leads to Louisiana Tech, UAB and Old Dominion (including a 28-0 lead in that one) and was blown out by Utah State in the New Mexico Bowl.
Put it this way: you don’t make someone the highest-paid coach in your conference not to win that conference.

One could argue that Fine should be number one, not because he is the best player in college football but because maybe no one else is as important to their team’s success than Fine.

I wore a North Texas hoodie to the 2017 Iron Bowl in Auburn... Someone asked if I was lost.
I wore my NT hoodie to the Michigan-Rutgers game in NJ in 2014 and got some weird looks for sure.

Another CUSA carport practice facility. That will be enjoyable for August practices...
It isn’t ideal for sure, but it does get the kids out of the direct sun and shelters from lightning, both of which can help the team stay on the practice field under harsh conditions. At least they are trying I guess.

Kudos to the University for putting this together... The price seems high (especially for two), but using Kayak/Hotwire/Expedia can escape some folks. Hope they continue to organize these sort of travel packages. Maybe with time the package costs will track closer to the Average Joe's cost of booking.
Anyone know what hotel the team hotel is? I probably won't get there early enough for a Friday night event, but just in case. I'd might just change my reservation there anyways.
I thought it was a little high also, but it really isn’t too bad. A quick google flights search shows that if you don’t want to fly Spirit, flights will be around 450-500. Hotel is going to run 300-400. Game tickets 35. And this includes transport to and from both the Oakland airport and the game, which you have to figure is worth a minimum of 100, probably up to 200 if you were doing taxi/Uber/shuttles.
So it isn’t a bargain per se, but not too far out of range. Plus you have to figure there is going to be pretty good access to AD officials. Also some people don’t want to deal with arrangements and this provides everything for a good experience.
(Now if they are booking everyone on Spirit then all my above praise is canceled.)

Not sure if he will without a championship or bowl win.
But Mason Fine will be in there. Probably Bussey too.

Pretty sure we lost the game last time you all flew a banner there.
So, no.
