  1. PAC just has to invite 7 the MWC and they can vote to kill the exit fees.
  2. The MWC by laws are online. Just a quick glance but it seems that a majority of the members can: So if 6 of the 11 voted for it, they could simply strike out these payout rules: So in other words, if the PACx invites at least 6 members of the MWC, the members can vote to cancel out the exit fees, and then resign from the MWC and accept the PACx invite.
  3. NCAA Bylaw 20.02.6 Football Bowl Subdivision Conference. A conference classified as a Football Bowl Subdivision conference shall be comprised of at least eight full Football Bowl Subdivision members that satisfy all bowl subdivision requirements. An institution shall be included as one of the eight full Football Bowl Subdivision members only if the institution participates in the conference schedule in at least six men's and eight women's conference-sponsored sports, including men's basketball and football and three women's team sports, including women's basketball. A conference-sponsored sport shall be a sport in which regular- season and/or championship opportunities are provided, consistent with the minimum standards identified by the applicable NCAA sport committee for automatic qualification. (Adopted: 10/31/02 effective 8/1/05, Revised: 12/15/06)
  4. For PACx to survive: They need to get to 8 FBS playing members to be an FBS conference. They need to get to 7 DIV I members to stay a DIV 1 multisport conference and keep receiving the NCAA Tournament units.
  5. Two things to remember about the "who survives, the PAC or the MWC" discussion: The PAC is owed a lot of NCAA Tourney credits for the next five years. The PAC is granted autonomy status under NCAA rules by name.
  6. It's actually ran by an auxiliary organization to the university, a separate legal entity.
  7. Boise's academics were ALWAYS a problem for the PAC. They were an undergraduate only institution for the most of their really successful years. That's was just a non starter for the PAC presidents. Their first masters degree was in logistics, which is why conference mates refered to them as a trucking school. For example, even today BSU only has 13 Doctoral programs, NT has 80+. Now if things get bad, and several more teams get raided, BSU will more than likely get an invite to whatever is left. The presidents suddenly will overlook a lot.
  8. We already know exactly what it is. People want to keep the suspense going so lets just all play along.
  9. Kayfabe. Charlotte fans seemed to love it and I bet his players did as well. it got the media’s attention.
  10. Coach Eric Morris addresses the media at the 2023 AAC Media Days podium. Mazin Richards and Jett Duncan speak with the media at the 2023 AAC Media Days New UAB coach Trent Dilfer contemplates life, at the 2023 AAC Media Days. Just a few quick photos from media day. @Harry is traveling right now, but be on the lookout for a recap, and announcement, in the next day or so.
  11. SMU head coach Rhett Lashlee This is a great league. Will be deeper than it was before. Winning will be more challenging. No easy weeks in this league. Wants to compete at highest level. You can in the AAC. Champion can make expended playoff.
  12. North Texas Head Coach Eric Morris Important for staff to embed in the community. Brought to linemen to media days. Mazin Richard is a good story from the transfer portal. Not recruited, developed himself into an impact player. Jett Duncan is an incredible leader. Other impact players: offensive line has 4 returning starters. stable of “four damn good running backs” wr group has impact depth. lost 3 very good tight ends. QB is most important position. Still a positional battle. Logan Wilson is a force at safety. Texada might be the best cover corner he’s seen. Was intrigued by discipline that SL was able to instill in program. Would rather not play on Fridays. Understands TV demands. On AAC: North Texas has been on an upward path for 20-25 years. You want rivalry games. Loves to be able to go into places they recruit.
  13. Rice Head Coach Mike Bloomgren AAC is in the upper echelon of college football. New league and schedule will challenge team. “Rice owls are ready to fly high in 2023.” Several new coaches are from the Texas HS coaching ranks. Better skill players on both sides of the ball. First saw JT Daniels at a 9th grade camp. Was able to discuss deep football concepts even then. Unbelievable that a 9th grader has a grasp on concepts that even some NFL QBs struggled with. Why does Rice play Texas? Not because it’s easy but because it’s hard.
  14. Tulsa Head Coach Kevin Wilson QB Braylon Braxton has a high ceiling. Talent is there, has the ability to make some chicken salad. QB friendly reminder program tremendous young college talent . Coaches are now forced to communicate with their players and families Brought in 13 portal guys. Both players they brought to media days were in the portal and stayed. League has quality coaches and players. Very impressed meeting coaches and support staff. Camaraderie and support for each other. Conference is built by supporting each other. Conference needs to win OOC games. North Texas plays at Tulsa on November 18th.
  15. Tulane Head Coach Willie Fritz Team has to out last season behind them. Can’t look at past successes or failures.
  16. USF Head Coach Alex Golesh 48 new players on the roster. Tried to fill gaps and add value. Wants to compete as fast as they can. 35 seniors. Confidence comes from work. Absolute joy to come into building. USF has spent more in the last 8 months than the first 25 years. Has talent, but questions, at every spot on the roster. Only thing that is not a question is if the team will compete.
  17. Now that there is break I have to say Trent Dilfer took the most entertaining crown from Poggi. In five years either UAB is going to build him a statue or he’s their Dodge.
  18. UTSA Head Coach Jeff Traylor Our NIL collectives have done a great job but we need to keep pushing. Spends most of his time recruiting players or recruiting boosters. A lot of respect for the league they are moving into. North Texas plays UTSA on November 4th.
  19. We’ll have more photos from day today up later today.
