  1. McCasland has to make it our game if we want to have any chance of an at-large bid. UNT has to be inside the top 40 by the end of the season to have any chance.
  2. UNT beat FIU by 7 but the spread was 7.5. UNT fell a spot in the NET the next day, down to #48. As of tonight, UNT hold the #50 rank. The spread for our game against Rice favors UNT by 12.5 points. I guess UNT has to run it up or risk falling even lower in the NET.
  3. This won't be popular, but.... The Leach coaching tree has a reputation for fielding weak defenses. So, it is fair to be concerned until we see evidence that staff will contradict the stigma. We have added a few defensive players, but more are certainly needed.
  4. While that is a great addition for LT, I think they need more than just a QB to return to their former level of competitiveness.
  5. THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!!! Thanks for posting this El Paso Eagle. I gave you a +1, but would have given you a +100 for posting such wonderful news. You made my day!
  6. Yes. The spread finally failed as an indicator. I'll give you a +1 for being right. But, I'm still going to keep tracking this.
  7. The spread for this game favored FAU by 4.5 points. UNT lost by 4. So, if the spread continues to be an accurate indicator of NET movement, then UNT should actually see at least a slight bump from this road loss. I'll post an update after the new NET is released.
  8. This won't a popular post around here, but I'll say it anyway.... FAU exposed the fact that this team lacks the size and talent to be the best in C-USA. We are a scrapy team and we play some solid defense. But, we are the 2nd best team in C-USA. Maybe we can land a spot in the NET. McCasland has to bring in bigger and better talent if we are going to compete in the AAC next season. It's that simple.
  9. Ousmane has to stay out of foul trouble and the bench has to score at least a few points. If Huntsberry and Scott can take some of the pressure off of Perry, we should have a real chance.
  10. There is always going to be movement based on other teams playing and those teams moving. I really don't understand why dislike my tracking this. Again, you don't have to follow this topic.
  11. No. Just UNT and the teams we are playing in each game on that night.
  12. UNT wasn't able to cover the 9.5 spread, and regardless of the NET formula, the Mean Green tumbled from #38 to #47. LT beat the spread in their loss and moved up from #152 to #143. This indicator has not failed this season.
  13. Today UNT was #38 and LA Tech was #152. The last spread I saw was 9.5 and we only won by 2. I'm fairly sure FAU didn't cover the spread against FIU either. So unfortunately, I suspect we will drop in the next NET ranking. I'll post the new NET when I see it.
  14. No it wasn't. The spread for that game was 4, and we won by 4.
  15. LT is always a tough out. Glad to see the guys step up at the end and send the Dawgs packing back to Ruston.
  16. Agreed. I'm happy we are landing some quality linemen, but Morris needs be sure to upgrade the defense as well.
  17. Not going to lie, based on the O-linemen we landed, this one is a bit of a surprise. I'll have to watch some film on this guy. ULM isn't where I expected Morris to look for a QB.
  18. Morris adding a successful OL lineman from an elite Leach offense is a great sign!
  19. It's been accurate all season. And currently the spread for tomorrow's game against LA Tech is at 9.5. I predict that if we again beat the spread our NET ranking will improve. If following this anomaly is insignificant to you, then ignore my posts. Or you can just ignore this thread all together. No one is forcing you to read or follow this topic.
  20. I haven't brought it up in every game thread. I address it in this thread, which is the proper place for it.
  21. What does it matter? I made this thread and want to post about it. You don't have to read this stuff. And, I don't care if the spread isn't officially part of the formula. It has been an accurate indicator of our movement all season. So, I'm going to keep tracking it.
  22. If I were a rich man, I'd buy the naming rights, and they'd be hanging a new sign on it that reads "The Stadium of North Texas.... Because smu Sucks!"
  23. Did you lose you sources, or did they tell you they can't comment on our movements?
