  1. No annoucnement as of yet but I would say the chances are high. A portion of the band traveled to Rice last year and I think since this game will carry so much importance, Hickey will make it happen. We will let you know.
  2. Looking at our attendance trends the 4th and 5th home games have always been a bit lower but with the spikes from the beginning of year and the last game of the season attendance will be fine. Season ticket sales have increased year over year and there is no reason for that to stop. We only graduate 11 seniors and only 4 starters after this year so the team will be even stronger in 2014. I think this is a bit premature for attendance smack talk considering we will still end up with the 2nd highest average attendance in CUSA after ECU. Congrats on the spike in attendance but I'm sure it’s directly correlated to being the conference leaders. Hopefully UNT can continue to do well and attendance will continue to improve.
  3. UTSA was in a lot of trouble without their #1 (Glasco) and #2 (Okotcha) running backs this game. The running game was on the shoulders of 5'4 Brandon Freeman and freshman Jarveon Williams. Freeman's fumble came when he rushed up the middle and was somewhat expected when a 5'4 190 lbs player meets a 6'3 325 DT. Jarveon fumbled on the 1 yard line. Freshman mistake, I'm not completely sure but I think our #1 WR, Kam Jones was also not 100% as his playing time was reduced. He got banged up vs Tulsa. UTSA won the game on 2 big plays. The 60+ yard TD run by Freemnan and the 50+ pass from Soza to Grubb on 3rd and 13 to get in FG position. Other than that the offense could not move the ball. Thankfully the defense has been playing great over the last few weeks and causing turnovers Everyone is immensely excited for the game in Denton in 2 weeks. From my perspective, everyone I know is traveling to the game so I would expect a large UTSA contingent at Apogee. Hopefully the bye week allows all of the players on UTSA and UNT to heal up so we can have a great matchup.
  4. Thanks we need a lot of help and chances are unlikely but hopefully we at least become bowl eligible. That one td loss to Rice hurt The Rowdy Burger was the same price as a regular burger at Sonic. The edible logo was a good move an a lot of people got behind it. Burger was good but beef, cheese and brisket usually equals mud butt. This was no exception. I was kidding about the free tickets although that type of marketing campaign has worked. Even the KFC promotion that gave a family pack of tickets only resulted in negligible attendance. The whole point was to to get non UTSA followers or non football fans to the dome to enjoy a Saturday afternoon. We may have earned an additional 500 people a game (upper deck) tops. I even knew someone at work that went to game on a KFC ticket had such a good time and purchased season tickets. Everyone hates on the idea but you have to get consumers to buy your product before they will buy it. You can't just rely on students and alumni when you live in a populated city. Look at Tulane (SuperDome) and Georgia St (Georgia Dome) who struggle mightily with attendance. Why are they not marketing to the city to try and earn new fans?
  5. UTSA always travels well and I can tell you most fans who can only make 1 road game a year are traveling to Denton later this month. Last year the same push was for the Rice game and we were told we were the largest travelling fan base at Rice Stadium in recent years For some reason I thought UNT peeps liked to drink but apparently the UNT rule makers have outlawed kegs? Bummed about that
  6. Shame on you sir. San Antonio is a great military city and we are proud of those who have served or those currently serving for our country. Every memeber of the Air Force attends basic training at Lackland AFB. Want to be a pilot? Most likey you will learn to fly at Randolph AFB. Ft. Sam Houston is a historic base that still provides medical training to our service men and woman. Brooks Army Medical Center now called San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC) is a level 1 trauma center and one of the best burn units in the county. Many IED victims end up in SAMMC when they get back state side. Since UTSA is San Antonio's team I think we more than earned the right to wear America's colors on our helmet.
  7. I think they are giving us a break because we are playing for America this week. Its our military appreciation game and we will be rocking our American Flag Rowdy helmets. Just a guess
  8. We all know UNT90 well and find his dilusionary comments entertaining. All in good fun and every fanbase has someone similar By the way, we no longer do the KFC deal anymore. Its now Sonic and the "Rowdy Burger" I bought one and got 4 free tickets, a UTSA koozie, his and hers tshirts, 2 vouchers for free drinks at the AlamoDome and a Coach Coker Fathead for my wall.
  9. We are playing great football lately averaging 200+ yards rushing in our last 3 games vs Rice, UAB and Tulsa. Soza was turnover prone for the first part of the season but has since gone turnover free for 3 straight weeks. Additionally coming into the UAB game we had a putrid 2 turnovers. In two games we have forced 7 turnovers with 2 defensive touchdowns. The Dome will be rocking and hopefully we can knock out Tulane.
  10. Goree also has a UTSA offer. His current QB, Blake Bogenschutz has already committed to the Roadrunners.
  11. Just to add: Anthoula Kelly - (CB) and Kevin Strong - (DT) both have committed to UTSA. Both also carried an UNT offer
