  1. So just because your defense couldn't stop our offense you think Coach Freeze should have just brought in a local Jr High team to play the second half? Trust me, if he was trying to run the score up he would have. It was pretty obvious by the half that your D couldn't stop us. Sometimes a team does nothing but run their offense the way they normally would and they can't help but score because the opposing defense just can't stop them. This is D-1/FBS football...this is what happens. We have been on the bottom side of lopsided games plenty of times...because we simply couldn't handle our opponents. This new Red Wolves Football team is being coached to play a full game and that is exactly what they did. As for keeping starters in...not entirely true. I didn't hear Coach Freeze make the comment that you claim, but even if he did what does it matter. This is an aggressive defense that is being coached to never let up. Play until the final second ticks off the clock. The fact that we took a knee with over a minute left on the clock actually kind of surprised me considering what Coach has been preaching. If UNT can't handle that then maybe they are in the wrong division. Don't be sore losers ...ASU is a VERY good team this year. You lost...accept it and move on.
  2. He is a special guy. I am so glad he will be back next year! He is truly a "do it all" player who has been an accurate passer, our leading rusher, has caught TD passes and has even punted a couple times this season. I feel sorry for defenses against Aplin...they never know what he will do.
  3. Not just A new coach...but an entirely revamped coaching staff with a new DC and dedicated Special Teams coach along with a COMPLETELY different attitude on and off the field. There is something very special happening at ASU. We struggled with sub-par coaching for almost a decade. Things have changed and our time has come.
  4. Hey y'all, Just got home from the game and got the kids in bed. Thought I would come on here and tell y'all that I am sorry your QB got hurt. Really wish y'all would have had him the whole game. We want the best our opponents have to offer. Although y'all struggled in the first half your team came out in the second and gave us a fight. Your special teams did very well and you D gave our QB fits all night. Overall it was a good game but I thought it would have been closer, and it probably would have without the injury. I would like to point out that for the 8th straight game we have prevented any rusher from going over 100 yds. Our D is just playing incredibly strong this year. Anyway, I know this was a tough loss for y'all but your program is improving and you will get back to the top soon. Good luck in the rest of the season. Hope y'all will now root for stAte as we go for the 2011 SunBelt Championship! I know I will be rooting for y'all.
  5. What, and miss the 2nd half beat-down that the mighty Red Wolves are going to put on y'all? Nah, I think I'll just keep watching the game.
  6. Actually, Jonesboro is 100% Broadband High Speed. And the port-a-potties are a very welcome addition to the concourse until we get the funding to do stadium upgrades to include new restroom facilities. Our biggest problem is that when they increased the seating capacity years ago they failed to increase the restroom and concession capacity enough to handle the larger crowds. We are going through some growing pains but we will get there. When we win the 'Belt this year I feel like we will sell the naming rights to the stadium and that should provide the funding for improvements. Regardless of our facilities for those in attendance we are still going to win this game. Arkansas State University WILL be the 2011 SunBelt Champions. Good luck to y'all (except for Saturday). Hoping for a competitive, injury-free game in Jonesboro.
  7. The final score will not reflect how close the game actually was...the Red Wolves win at home on homecoming, pulling away in the 4th... Red Wolves 48 Mean Green 24 Sorry guys!
  8. Hey Mean Greeners, Red Wolves fan here. Just wanted to stop by and wish y'all luck on Saturday. You are coming into a very hostile environment against a greatly improved ASU Football team who's D has not allowed ANYONE to rush for more than 100 ypg. We have some very rabid fans and I can guarantee you that your sideline will be continually pelted with all kinds of comments during the game. I have read on here that y'all like to intimidate visiting teams from the stands...just know that we will do the same to you. Anyway, I know y'all are having some success this year...glad to see that. Seems like the Sun Belt has been turned over this year and it is nice to see that the top 3-4 teams are ones that have struggled over the past few years. It's nice to have a coach that can get the team going in the right direction. I know this game is a big one for y'all...it is HUGE for us as we are looking for bowl eligibility this weekend. It is going to be a hard fought game that could honestly go either way. It is going to come down to who executes better and avoids more mistakes. We will have the home crowd advantage and we don't typically let anyone come into our house and push us around. I do hope y'all are bringing a big crowd with you and if any of you have any questions about the Jonesboro area feel free to ask me. I will check in over the next couple of days. Good luck to y'all, hope you do well the rest of the season (with the exception of this Saturday ). May the best team win! Sincerely, RedWolfRunning
