I didn't know that Perry came to NT to win a NIT championship.
With the absolutely insane NIL status, there are very few NCAA players that can't be lured away. So fans can worry about losing most of the team or dream of getting another team's elite player: great off season speculation.
NT has just won the NIT, despite losing McCasland; recruiting should be a lot easier.
It will be very interesting to most NT fans to see how Hodges handles all this turmoil.
I would think it would a lot easier to recruit with the NIT trophy encased in the reception area.

Yea that's not the amount.
That is what I had seen posted a few weeks ago. What is the amount?

If anybody deserves a great send off it is coach Mc. We should also thank him for the $1.5m buy out. GMG

Hodge has a great resume and reputation, he has done it all as an Assistant Head Coach. We are very fortunate we were able to hold off P5's from getting a hold of him. The smooth transition to a 5 year contract is great. The AD has made some solid decisions. GMG

Also I know there's still a chance Grant stays but I just feel it's highly unlikely... Tech would've hired a new HC by now if it wasn't him. I am trying to prepare myself so I don't feel depressed when it's finally announced...
I got to have a conversation with Grant earlier this year and he's truly one of the most humble yet driven people I have ever met. He gives you countless reasons to root for him and I am so damn proud of what he's accomplished at UNT. He deserves to take his talents to the next level and as much as I wish I could be selfish and feel like he should stay, I know he's earned whatever is coming to him. Much love for Mac
He really is what you are looking for in a head coach. Has always been a great representative of the UNT. He really has a passion for coaching young men. Sat next to his parents at a UTSA BB game a few years ago in San Antonio. His father was a minister so I could easily see where Mc got that passion. He deserves the best.

Hodge unless he doesn't want it.
Maybe, but you have to put the job out there and see the response.

Rob, this wasn't just a walk on. He was the top quarterback in the Dallas area. He was an all-district and all-state performer with terrific statistics. I'm not worried about this year...Eric and the quarterback coach should do fine but he would have been a great quarterback for the future and he's from just about twenty miles down the road. I believe that the only reason was that there wasn't a scholarship available. It appears that his family didn't want to have to pay a year's tuition when they thought that he had performed well enough to have earned a scholarship somewhere. I would've felt the same way.
If he was worth it there would of been plenty of NIL money to keep him.

Hodge should get the job, unless you can find a coach with G5 or P5 ( and be a recognizable name) success. This is why a national search should be done. The job is more attractive than it ever has been. If we were still in C-USA, then I would be on the Hodge band wagon. The AAC will be very attractive for coaching candidates.

I have stated before that I believe BB will be the biggest beneficiary of the AAC. Hodge has a strong resume, but should interview others with a $1.5 salary range. Mc has made this job very attractive.

I’m not Hodge fan! We should be able to attract top notch talent with the AAC in our pocket.

Decades? I disagree. The growth of the area surrounding UNT is second to none in the US. Put a consistent winning football team of the field and money with attendance will increase dramatically. The AAC bringing in known competition on a regular basis will help a lot. I still think BB will be a big winner with the AAC competition coming to the Pit.
