  1. I was at the Men's game! Took my grandson to see his dad. BTW, It wasn't that last shot that lost the game... it was some poor possessions down the stretch and home court advantage. My 2 cents: They are a much better team this year.
  2. She was contemplating going to the Press Conference just to give him a hug and wish him well. He came to many of her HS and AAU games. WF was in her top 5.
  3. Dino Guadio is looking for a job... WF let him go because he couldn't get past the second round in the NCAA tourney... even though he got IN every year he coached.
  4. I know Coach Pete personally.... congratulations to both UNT and Coach. Not only does he offer experience but will bring much needed stability. Raquel knows many girls from the WF team and never heard about any complaints. Great find!
  5. I just passed this on to ECHO - he's always looking for a game! Raquel is always looking for a pick-up game too. Forewarned: she has a potty mouth and she likes to pick the biggest guy in the gym to "school". Off the court, she could be a first grade teacher. On the court, she's a _______.
  6. I would be happy to help! Raquel is in. She will also reach out to the men's team and see who may be available to guest ref. She rattled off a couple names... she should have confirmations by mid-week.
  7. ECHO is in (if you'll have him) Age: 24 6'4", 235lbs Will be wearing spandex under his shorts this year Last year's BIO: Played in HS and while in the Army, for the Post team. With the post team played games and in tournaments against D1 & D2 programs as well as JUCO's. Also had tournaments on post for intramural inter-league play. Can play the 1-4. Was a slasher in HS with decent speed for size.
  8. I just saw that there was another thread conveying this - but Brelan Chancellor earned the #1 spot for ESPN's top plays today with his sideline catch. That's great promo for the school! Don't be too hard on the team you guys. They need some work but if you erase the 1st quarter problems, they actually settled in after the fumble returned for a TD. No one wants to hear that it's going to "take time". Trust me, I'm a WBB parent... I KNOW!
  9. They usually show up after 2pm - everyday except Friday.
  10. I really appreciate it. I am looking forward to being a spectator again. I like to think we raised a winner. Her spirit was close to broke, but she's getting the fire back in the spring work-outs. We're bringing her to NY to work out with her trainer for a few weeks. She needs to rub the rust off her ball handle and footwork. Along the same lines, we're also very encouraged by the hires.
  11. You're exactly right. In women's basketball it's more about skill. If you have a 5'10" post player that has been playing the post since she was a little girl opposed to a 5'10" guard that is pushed into that position as a sophomore in college, the outcome will be more productive. The typical women's basketball post player is between 5'11"-6'3". Alysha Clark (MTSU) and Chastity Reed (UALR) were effective post players. Both players were shorter than 6'. Neither were threats on the perimeter but could rebound and score the ball within 10'-15' of the basket. I know I am thrilled that there are some big bodies coming in!
  12. Hubby doesn't want to play but he would like a Shirt. 3XL (Green) Name on back: M. Cuffie (he's so original!) He would have made a good lineman. You know what Ben wants on his shirt:
  13. I can speak for mine. She's optimistic. Personally, I am relieved.
  14. You know the Athletic Dep't wasn't the only ones sold on 94' heat! Then, come to find out she only pressed in the last 2 minutes of the game and transition meant the PG trots the ball up the court. It's a new day. Now it's up to the girls to respond.
  15. I can tell you she likes an uptempo game. I have been watching her teams play for the past 4 yrs because Raquel has some old HS rivals & HS teammates on that team. Their defense has kept them in all their games.
  16. There is much speculation. I did get a message from a friend at hoopgurlz that believes Aston is the candidate of choice. I'll believe it when I see it. It is evident that some of the names being thrown around would bring a breath of fresh air, regardless. The Athletic Department must be under a gag order, no one really knows anything. Aston could very easily step in and mold this team quickly.
  17. I'm in the dark like everyone else. I am pretty confident that RV will give alot of thought and consideration into this hire though. I only know about the WBCA because when my daughter was being recruited, all the coaches that were recruiting her went to the convention.
  18. As his official "agent", ECHO would like to be apart of the FUN! We look forward to watching him dust off his mouth guard. I'm sure he'll need a pair of suspenders so he doesn't lose his shorts in this game too! He's still 6'4" He's still about 240 lbs The only thing different, he'll be 24. I was just informed he played on the Army Post's Flag Football team. Growing up he played QB, RB, Slot Back, TE, MLB and DE. If football had a utility type of player, he fit the mold. And, going against our family values... he's a Dallas Cowboys fan
  19. No hire will be announced until the WBCA convention is completed so the candidate can be present for a press conference. Tomorrow should wrap up the festivities in Indianapolis. 99% of active coaches & assistants are members of the WBCA and attend the conference during the Final 4.
  20. We actually got on her for that call at dinner. Josh & Shannon came to the house for dinner Saturday night and we were talking about Josh leaving the whistle in his pocket, Shannon counting too fast to get the ball in/ over half court and that "out of position" call Rock made. We gave you an "A" for effort on that. Plus, you baffled the refs. Normally I would be an irate parent in the stands if someone was beating up my baby, but I look at it like payback for something he did here at home and didn't get caught for. My husband wants to play next year. Warning for next year's draft picks: you don't want him and ECHO on the same team. This is ECHO:
  21. I think I would have gave Harry the "Best Defense" award. He did an awesome job guarding ECHO!! Also to whomever pulled ECHO's shorts down, the ref's weren't sure if that was supposed to be considered a foul, so great defensive prowess!! KRAM1: On behalf of Raquel, Josh, Shannon, ECHO, My hubby & myself... thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of this! I can't wait to see the pictures!
