You missed my point completely. It is very much the schools fault

UNT is generally seen and treated as a "low effort, low cost, local option" by the majority of students that attend. It's cheap, it's not particularly prestigious academically (a few program tracks are top notch but the university as a whole is not) and relatively easy to get into, and it's within an hour drive of 8+ million people

Generally speaking, people don't go to UNT for Basketball like they do Kansas, they don't go for Football like Alabama, they don't go for tradition like Texas A&M, they go because it's cheap, close, and easy to get accepted (Seen as a fallback option for many who don't get accepted to their school of choice)

With that perception, and the lack of student buy in because of said perception, it makes athletic support infinitely more difficult. Couple that with UNT's greater administration's lack to encourage/re-enforce these things in an impactful and meaningful way (something like fish camp for Texas A&M) to students and it's no wonder we have low donor numbers.

Throw in decades of losing at revenue sports, and only the diehards are left. The problem is we don't foster an environment to create/encourage diehards in the first place.

I don't know how many active users there are on GMG, but I would guess the numbers pale in comparison to something like TexAgs.

i wouldnt use internet message boards as barometers for fan support.....

I think MIles got the last 2 way contract, but jelly should already have an E10.  I think both Jelly and Miles at times played better then Hardy.  The Mavs already have enough guards, but they need a center, so I can see Hardy being part of a trade.

They aren't trading Hardy. They specifically turned down deals when teams asked for him this summer.

22 off the bench tonight. 7/12 from the field and 5/8 from 3. Also had 3 rebounds and 3 assists to 1 turnover. I believe he had 8 assists and 0 turnovers yesterday which gives him an 11/1 assist to turnover ratio which will definitely turn heads even though the sample size is small. He finished tonight with a +17 and was one of the main reasons the Mavs separated themselves from Atlanta. In my opinion, he's at least played himself onto a G league roster.

He's been fun to watch during summer league. I'm curious if he'll get a two way. Maybe an Exhibit 10. He could be a cheaper THJ

Sources have confirmed to gomeangreen.com that Jared Mosley is set to welcome a new Senior Associate AD to his team. Shannon Halbritter has joined the department as Mean Green's new Senior Associate AD for Marketing and Fan Engagement. Halbritter is currently serving as Texas Tech's Assistant AD of Promotions and Fan Engagement. She has been at Texas Tech since 2019. Shannon will be joining North Texas as the new top marketing person in athletics. The newly created position comes as North Texas looks to grow its staff with the move to the American Conference.

Interesting, so is she above Jamie Adams in the hierarchy then? Seems like a fast riser

  5. Since this is a Mean Green forum, I wanted to help other Mean Green alums out... especially since the hiring manager is a Mean Green alum

If you're a new grad, junior level professional with a little project coordination experience and want to work at a growing startup, Glass Media, a retail tech organization (they do a lot of the visual displays you see in stores, and work with a ton of top retail brands) in Farmer's Branch is looking for a Project Coordinator as they continue to grow their team

Salary is 40-45k, but lots of upside (last person that got hired got promoted within 6 months) and great opportunity for someone to learn onsite from a company whose revenue grew 4x in 2022.

If you know anyone interested, tell them to apply: https://www.indeed.com/job/junior-project-coordinator-901bbd32f3c6b1e0 If you yourself are interested, DM me and we can have a conversation (I'm the recruiter for the role)

Lol, I remember at the Denton one a few years ago Grant was chatting with me about sandwich places in Italy. It was like I met a long lost friend, and it was the first time I had met him. Then the HCs got called on stage, and he was like "oh got to go". I only met him a few times, but that guy understands it (fan engagement). Hopefully the new HCs are like that with us tonight in Frisco.

All three definitely seem that way. Burton might be the smoothest operator of the three (not a bad thing)

Community oriented, she had a great following in Ruston, retains players well, especially considering Ruston is not overly exciting. She also is good at hitting the transfer portal.

Think she will do extremely well, she is 180 degree change in demeanor from Lama, fairly soft spoken.

Kinda like that she played other sports and was in something else before coaching too- someone who gets the 360 degree picture of the collegiate experience which could help with development
