That’s very true for year two. Year three was like year one. We were ‘in’ a lot of games but that’s worthless. But with year one and three he was only ‘two plays away’ from winning like 5-6 games. And that got old hearing crap like that. Hell, i even heard Mac say that once and I was like… oh man that’s always a mark of a bad team.
I remember his face after we blew the Ohio game in OT..... could've been 2-0. Was downhill from there

While I get your point… i do. Everytime i have heard this kind of line we have had a really bad team. I have heard EM say as much and it reminds me of dodge saying something similar.
difference is dodge's first couple of teams weren't remotely competitive

Talk about a couple of bounces changes the season..... 4 one possession losses.... switch those up and you're 9-1

@meanJewGreen, this is from the R1 Our Way Task Force at UNT.
Got it. So there's a plan, per se, but it seems like it's a long way off

For those in the know academically, could this be a way for us to build a long term plan to get into the AAU?

I doubt Baylor, TCU and SMU are thrilled though.
It is wild how different of a university academically we are from when I started in 06.
Our football program on the other hand.....

I personally remember that Gretchen Bataille was extremely excited about the Dodge hire. Remember that he was considered a football god at the time, albeit at the high school level.
I mean we got front page on the DMN when he got hired. "Enter the dragon" was the caption
then we lost to OU by 69 points

I see a lot of potential here.
the coaching staff just needs to realize that games start in the first half

There were a few throughout the season but no more than normal. I think starting defender was out majority of season, subbed-in forward out last 3-4 games.
This team was mentioned to be deepest roster in some time, if so, then one could say plug and play failed us.
I’d say lack of creativity more so than injuries failed us.
Hasnt this been a Hedlund issue for the past few years?
He is the winningest coach in UNT history, but we've never beaten a ranked team or scored a goal in the NCAA Tournament..... sometimes people just reach plateaus.

Part of me wants to laugh at UTSA but the other part isn't happy about this. A strong UTSA is good for us - the fans travel well.

That’s why he gained so much weight and got sifted at the fat stock show."
You've never seen a more fired up group of dudes after this speech from Morris

Disappointing, do those teams count for NET? What's worse is it took us until we were 8 days away from opening the season to get it done.
More difficult to schedule than you might think.

Right off the bat we play #98, 60, 63 and the winner of 47 vs 69.
Big opportunity in non conference to assert ourselves and not have to pray for a bid at the end of the year.

Prior to lining up those Pac 12 schools in August, Yormark had conducted realignment negotiations for several months with Gonzaga and UConn. Sources say there is no current dialogue with UConn, but over the last several weeks, Yormark has quietly continued talks with Gonzaga’s top leadership.
Sources told The Messenger that Yormark would like to see Gonzaga join the Big 12 for the 2024-25 season, but that timetable would be a best-case scenario. The Big 12 schools are still digesting the financial ramifications of adding the schools that agreed over the summer to come on board — as well as this year’s additions of Houston, Cincinnati, BYU and UCF. There are many logistical questions that would need to be answered, such as scheduling and how the conference tournament format would be adjusted to account for 17 schools with Gonzaga in the mix.

Not a bad potential top 7 for basketball. Cincy and OKst are historically good, and TCU is on the rise. Best basketball conference?

I can tell you there has never been the political level of what's going on at the Ivies, or even UT (UT has a gigantic jewish community, and a huge palestinian org) . We had some small protestors protest some Israeli speakers, but nothing like you saw at Berkley, NYU, Columbia, or yes, UT. And I was at UNT during Operation Cast Lead in 2008
There was the one-off small protest near the Union. And maybe 3-5 articles focused on Palestinians. But nothing where Jews feared for their lives. More apathy than anything.
Honestly I fear that Jews in Europe/Latin America will get the brunt of retribution when it comes to antisemitic attacks once Israel launches the planned ground invasion.
And I really fear that 1 million Palestinians are going to be completely displaced because of this

So our schedule currently has:
The NCAA TOp 10 team x2
NIT runner up
4 others receiving votes (MEM, St Johns, MSST, Boise)
A top tier A10 team (fordham)
Potential for Dayton/LSU, and Houston
Not too bad

You’d think that with the constant turn-over in students and a new “largest freshman class ever” coming in every year, we’d eventually break through and become an excited fan base that supports the team no matter what, but it just never happens. It’s like some invisible apathy torch handed down from one class to the next. The cycle never breaks.
Early season losses/poor showings kill us. We need to start 5-0 or better every year to keep fans (and students) coming out. We saw glimpses of what could be until that stupid blocked FG at the end of the LaTech game.Or just string together years of 10-2 seasons mixed with wins over big time teams

1 more game and that's it according to what others have said. I'm a little surprised that no one else finds it weird that we are still looking for games 26 days before the season starts.
We're missing UTA on there too.
Optimist in me says we're a tough team to schedule RPI - wise? or maybe Jared is playing hardball about getting us another good home game?

Are we still missing dates for late November and December? We are a month away and we still don't have a finalized schedule? I'm telling you guys this seems unusual.
when i tweeted jared a few weeks back he said they were still finalizing 2. I guess Northern Iowa was one. Curious on the second

So most of the non con games are on the schedule. They did say 11.6.2023 in the promo.... maybe that's the last game they are finalizing?

Both should be home dates but don't look for any big-name schools. Maybe UTA. We have to take what we can get at home.
if it was a big name my bet is that they want a 2 for 1
you're probably right on UTA - they havent released their schedule either
