  1. Please delete this thread.  If I were to make disparaging remarks about christianity (and I could) I'd be lambasted and kicked off this board.  Don't get me wrong.  I see the humor.  Part of me thinks it's funny.  But many of my muslim friends do not agree.

EagleD, not to get into a pissing contest here, but the thread starts out with "muslim terrorists". These are the fanatics that killed over 3,000 Americans on Sept. 11, 2001. Remember that?? Too many people in this country have already forgetten. I am in no way brush stroking all Muslims. Terrorists, whether Muslim or Christian, have no place in my heart and if I choose to joke about them, so be it. It's not about the good Muslim population of the world, only the fanatic muslim terrorists that want to kill Americans, Jews, and any other religion or ethnic group that stands in the way of their beliefs.

  2. Everyone seems to be wondering why Muslim terrorists are so quick to

    commit suicide.

    Let's see now.................

    No Jesus,

    No Christmas,

    No television,

    No cheerleaders,

    No baseball,

    No football,

    No basketball,

    No hockey,

    No golf,

    No tailgate parties,

    No Wal-Mart,

    No Home Depot,

    No pork BBQ,

    No hot dogs,

    No burgers,

    No chocolate chip cookies,

    No lobster,

No shellfish, or even frozen fish sticks,

    No gumbo,

    No jambalaya.

Rags for clothes and towels for hats. Constant wailing from the guy

next-door because he's sick and there are no doctors. Constant wailing

from the guy in the tower. More than one wife. You can't shave. Your

wives can't shave. You can't shower to wash off the smell of donkey

cooked over burning camel dung. The women have to wear baggy dresses

and veils at all times. Your bride is picked by someone else. She

smells just like your donkey. But your donkey has a better

disposition. Then they tell you that when you die it all gets better!

I mean, really, is there a mystery here?

  3. I wasn't saying it like it was inferior. I love going to the basketball games. And of course I think more pepole need to realize what they are missing.

What I was saying is the sad thing about North Texas is that football, which is usually the preferred sport in Texas by the majority and is our biggest force in athletics right now, could hardly pull decent crowds even with the success the team has seen recently so how can we expect good crowds for a basketball game.

    I wish it were different.

    Hopefully someday.

I think what a lot of people don't realize is the number of students who attend NT that are from the Northeastern U.S. Basketball "is" a big deal up there. When they see the type of W/L records NT has sported over the past 10 years, I doubt they will flock to the Super Pit. These people know their basketball. When I attended NT, a lot of my close friends were from the NE. Prior to college, I don't think I ever attended a basketball game...never. Not even in high school. Along comes these Yankees, and all of a sudden I go to every home game at the Snake Pit. I was hooked. The Yanks have a lot of basketball savy. Put consistant winning teams on the Super Pit floor and more fans will come out. Even some Texans. laugh.gif I think J. Jones has the team going in the right direction with their recent success.

  4. You're linked to an eyewitness-me! I just returned from the Lamar game and we definitley averted a blowout by Lamar. Other than we got back within 10 late in the game, I'd say Jones has a lot of work ahead of him.

Pre-game interview, Tubbs said that NT would be a good gauge for his squad since NT was big and physical and were a true D1 Bb team. After the game interview with Tubbs, although he was very supportive of the way NT played in th 2nd half and came back to make it interesting, he went on to say the "NT was the equivalent of a Southland Conf. team. blink.gif I didn't take that as a compliment.

Lamar has a fairly "new" team under Tubbs, but they play pretty decent basketball. Bad on free throws, otherwise it would have been a much worse loss for NT.

From my seat, NT could be in for a long season again. Are we sure Jones can recruit?
