I know what you're talking about. Kinda like the egg the mens team laid against Denver. I didn't even see it but from the sounds of things we must have looked like crap in that game.
When you look at some of the teams that TAMU-CC has beaten this year, and the top rated teams they played but lost to, you can't help but be impressed with how far they have come in such a short period of time.

I saw them play SMU...they aren't that amazingly great....
The Tulsa Ladys stand 11-4 overall and 3-2 in the WAC. I'd say the TAMU-CC win was pretty impressive for a school that wasn't even on the basketball map prior to a year or two ago.

If there was as much fan support as there was discussion about whether Coach Slinker should stay or go ... I think we could easily go fishing for a better coach if the situation demanded it.
Good coaching and a winning ballclub creates the demand. I know that we should support the team regardless of the coach or the record. And I agree. NT fans have waited and waited for good, competitive, and consistant athletic teams for decades. We are tired of being the doormats.

I'm disappointed in the direction of the program. I remember going to the SuperPit expecting the Ladies to win every game during my last few years as a student. The fact that we've fallen off so bad is toubling. I'm not advocating firing Slinker...yet.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women knocked off Tulsa last night.

What amazes me even more than losing to UTA is what is going on down at A&M-Corpus. Those gals are beating up on some pretty good teams. Do they have a larger recruiting budget than NT, or do they simply have better coaching?

AM-Corpus has been playing basketball how many years in D1? Maybe we should go for their coach.

Tubbs retired from TCU and then Lamar hired him as the Athletic Director. He now serves as their AD and basketball coach I believe. I think he wanted to coach the team for a couple of years to get it out of the cellar so that he could bring in a good coach to move it forward. He has done a fine job so far. Tubbs is doing for Lamar what Lou Henson did for NMSU, helping out an old friend that was in trouble of losing their program's storied history... I believe that Tubbs is a Lamar alumnus.
I made the game tonight. We are about 200% better then we were two years ago. JJ is the real deal and now that he has "his" players things are really clicking. There is one true star on the team and that is Hopkins but the surrounding cast is filled with people that can take his place when he graduates. I was very proud of the team tonight.
My opinion only, but I believe Tubbs is grooming his top assistant, Steve Roccaforte, to take over the head coaching position someday. Roccaforte heads up Lamar's BB recruiting and has brought in some darn good talent. The two of them will get Lamar back on the map.

Tubbs has recruited pretty well at Lamar. If NT can pull off a win tonight I'll be very impressed with our team.

Actually they are getting $13 million bucks to go to the Fiesta Bowl to take on a very beatable #21 Boston College.
How does a #21 Boston College get into a BCS bowl game?
Also, Urban Meyer to North Texas is wishful thinking. I'll bet the University of Washington has their sites set on Meyer.

Wow! I sit about 8 or so rows up from the last row of recruits and I didn't realize this was going on down there. How embarassing for something like this to happen to kids who we are trying to get to come to NT next Fall.
On another note, we actually had a couple of very obnoxious NT fans <_< who did nothing but cut down and belittle what was going on out on the field, and the whole atmosphere in general. My wife was the first to notice it. The two men did leave after halftime. Makes you wonder if they may have been the "fans" who yelled at the recruits. Could have been plants from another university to disrupt our recruiting. Maybe SMU, TCU???? Sumbitches! <_<

Now that Washington is getting a new professional baseball team, you have to wonder what name they will choose. Personally, I still like the "Senators", a name used for the Washington team for many years prior to moving to Texas. But what other names can we come up with. Hey,
no-holds-barred on these names. Just keep it clean and not "too" political.
