  1. Wait... what about the 500 conferences we are supposed to be in by 2030??? How do we display those affiliations?
  2. It'd be nice. Time for us to earn some respect nationally.
  3. First off, I had an awesome experience these past two days- made 2 ten hour bus rides worth it. Second to the alum that was offended by the vulgarities in my cheering, I am sorry. Third, I know Flyer took some last night... can anyone post some pics of last night? Would be awesome. Hope to see everyone at the tourney game.... hoping for OKC... makes the drive from Vegas a lot easier.
  4. Let's start beating big name teams, in both football and basketball, and start making some noise in the tournament. Then people will figure our real school name out. People are ignorant by nature.
  5. Not to be a chauvenist (spelling?) or anything, but the three programs mentioned besides volleyball have improved since those hires. just sayin.
  6. Has there ever been a Sun Belt team that received that many votes? Middle Tennessee with 12 votes. Not bad.
  7. sounds like an interesting article. do you have a link?
  8. http://forums.5atexasfootball.com/showthread.php?t=58458 Interesting story about the formation of the big 12... sorry bored at work
  9. With the resources he had at Buffalo it was impressive for him to even get five wins. I havent seen five wins here since I started as a student.
  10. Depends how spoiled you are.I probably wont get anything until Friday/Saturday anyway. You'd be surprised how much worse it is to buy for christmas.
  11. I would like to thank my chosen people for being so well versed in the entertainment industry Night one starts at sundown. If any of you are interested in learning more about this holiday that so few in Denton celebrate (it took a lot to get a menorah in the Student Activities Office, which had a huge christmas tree) there is a menorah lighting in the West Village (Uptown Dallas) at 8 pm tomorrow. Free Food. Or ask me
  12. I know UNT isnt in any bowl games, but do any of you have any plans to go to any local bowl games? Cotton/Armed Forces/Texas/Sun (ok maybe El Paso isn't that local)/Alamo?
  13. *Czech Republic. Czechoslovakia isn't a country anymore.
  14. I was going to say that. Lots of positive comments about UNT from the announcers.
  15. Totally agree. As a student, sure I would like to see more home games because it gives me something to do in Denton. But if we ever want to be a great team rather than a decent one, we need to start scheduling better. It'll help us down the road in conference play. I dont care if the games are on the road. Screw this building confidence crap- this team needs to learn how to play up a level.
  16. I know you're Tiger "Mother*@&%in" Woods but how could you cheat on such a hot piece of Scandinavian gluteous maximus?
  17. Shitty night to play a home game, but should be a good game. I'll be out there.
  18. If there has been one thing thats upset me over the past two years as a student, its that Todd Dodge hasn't been able to motivate his players when positive things have come from the stadium process. I remember last year, after the hard fight with the stadium, Dodge couldn't even motivate his players and we laid a huge egg (I forgot who we were playing). This year, he couldn't motvate his players against ULM and Army. You would hope you would get a more inspired effort out of a coach- especially how so many students have criticized the need for a new stadium (which, thank god we are getting) with such monumental things that benefit primarily the football team.
  19. Our stadium experience may suck, but at least we're polite....
  20. if anyone would like to take me from near campus that would be spectacular
  21. Just wanted to say thanks to CharlieNT for allowing me and my roommate (newly minted mean green fan) to sample some of the great food in the players parents tent. My roommate definately enjoyed the Mean Green history lesson you gave us.
  22. As stated in previous posts, its simple. Win, and they will come. I've heard from many on this board that we could potentially be a sleeping giant... and we can. If you think about it, more and more people are posting on this site (we have over 3000 members), and more and more people are wearing green on this campus. Metroplex sports fans are never ones to support losing teams (unless of course its the Cowboys) and are huge bandwagon fans. The main reason I'm a longhorn fan is most of my family went there, and I was introduced to TX/OU when I was one. Do you think people would be as passionate about UT (whether they went there or not) if the team went 3-9, 2-10, 1-11 the past three years? Maybe, because of past traditions, but winning in Dallas is the biggest factor. On another note, the reason tailgating is spread out is there are so many groups with houses and other mechanisms. When my father was in a fraternity down there, he tailgated at his fraternity house. Same with my brother now. My mother said even the yearbook group had a place on campus. With UNT, its small enough to where everyone can fit in the parking lot. But once again, build a tradition of winning (10 years of winning seasons or so) and you could have full tailgating in the parking lot, clark park, etc.
