  1. Good information Coach Andy Mac. I have listened to every Tyson Helton radio show this season and here are my takeaways not covered in CAM's above post. WKU leads the nation in turnovers gained. They like to strip the football and give it back to their offense. WKU doesn't believe they can stop NT's "balanced" offense. Coach Helton believes WKU needs to score 35 to 40 points to win against. NT. Helton understands that NT has a bend don't break defense. Force NT to kick field goals and prevent TD's is one of their defensive strategies. Coach Tyson has repeatedly mentioned that WKU likes to hit their opponents QB on almost every play.
  2. Very tough two games coming up. UTSA and WKU on the road will be challenging. The remaining schedule is tough except for FIU. But even FIU has improved recently. For me, Seth should win out the remaining schedule and win the C-USA championship to get a new contract.
  3. Wondering if FAU can tie it before halftime. 9 seconds.....versus UNT....maaaayby.
  4. MTSU's upcoming schedule is tough. They play UTSA (H), UAB (A) then WKU (Homecoming) next.
  5. Good grief, this is just embarrassing now. Gunnel must really suck to leave Aune in there at this point. Aune probably lost the entire team's respect today.
  6. Aune has 2 td passes for Memphis same as the Memphis QB. If he can throw one more pick six he will not only score more passing tds for Memphis than their own QB has, but he could make AAC offensive player of the week too.
  7. Why does Aune throw into these pick six situations? He must have terrible judgement. Also, the dude is 30 years old. Time to hang it up and get a life anyway. Most of the other kids are 7 to 10 years younger.
  8. Is it lost on everyone that two of the wealthiest P5 football programs (A$M, ND) were taken down by G5 teams from Appalachia (App. State and Marshall); a region known for decades of grinding poverty? I think something bigger is being uncovered already and that is that the NIL $ may not buy wins after all. These guys are essentially yearly free agents who may have little to no loyalty to their college teams and may lose to much less talented and funded programs. They are just essentially football mercenaries. Heck why would a guy even accept a scholarship if they were making more than $100K in NIL $$. I wouldn't because then there is no contractual obligation between me and the Univ.? Even NFL teams don't let this crap happen for the same reason. NFL players typically have longer contracts. I have to admit that yesterday was one of the happiest days of my college football watching years seeing ND and the A&M lose AT HOME to two schools with not even a fraction of the funding. Very glad to see both teams season end and all the NIL $$ wasted.
  9. Very glad that you posted this because this and DentonStang's comments above are exactly what I believe to be wrong at UNT. This is nothing new and dates back to the early 1980's I believe. North Texas needs an ironclad ethics policy and enforcement level compliance program in their athletic dept. There is NO accountability and lots of Money floating around NT athletics. It's not a lack of money at NT at least not up to this point in our history. For those of you that work in the private sector, tell me you're a$$ would not be fired from a company where you were paid these kinds of salaries and you produced such mediocre results.
  10. North Texas has name recognition up here as a school and admittedly that is because of the large size of the institution and not sports success. I would say both SMU and UNT are irrelevant on this new 2022 college football landscape for sure. Although I do hope SMU cracks the top 25 this week (doubtful you will).
  11. It's doubtful that even 30% of the people where I work have even heard of SMU, much less what city it is located in (Highland Park?). They are Irrelevant here since SMU doesn't win National Titles in the modern era. So that Twitter post seems especially stupid and childish from my perspective. And I will never understand the bashing that goes on between universities in Texas (not just SMU doing it). Trashing other universities just isn't done up here so much.
  12. Such a drastic & quick improvement in talent for SMU or so it sounds. Hmmm. How can that be?
  13. Good grief. Just pathetic defense. Giving up 31 points in a game makes it difficult to win a game. But 31 points in the 1st half is devastating.
  14. Holy cow. SMU has a Bama transfer at RB. How are the Mustangs getting these guys?
  15. For those of you watching, does SMU look that good? Top 25 talent & play?
  16. I can't even type my gripes and complaints fast enough. Special Teams play sucks, Defensive backs play shaky, unnecessary trick play. Can we pull off a Houston vs UTSAcomeback? Doubtful.
  17. What in the h&)) was that? Well at least we got 3 points. Why does SL NT teams always seem to spot the opponent a couple of TD's the 1st quarter and then play from behind the rest of the game.
  18. Is it really in the 90s at the game? 69°F here in Kentucky. Hard to understand how this game is going because I can't watch it. Fumble by Siggers is a HUGE break that NT needed though.
  19. Austin Peay now leads WKU 10 - 7. Agree! North Texas should defeat teams like WKU this year. And I really think North Texas will win this year. Starting tonight in El Paso.
