  1. Ah, so I see - I looked at the most recent posts for a similar one and did not see it on the first page. That's probably a good thing as there are a lot of good things. I don't want to dwell on the hiccups, but I did want to air my issues in case others are affected. I should have known it was already well covered. Thanks Mean Green 93-98 for the link to FFR's post. I think I've decided to just eat the parking pass cost. That costs less than the hassle it would be for me to pick it up tomorrow. And no, I won't be "selling it on the road"
  2. I ordered 2 tickets by phone two weeks ago (12/16). The ticket agent offered a parking pass for $20, which sounded like a good idea to me - remove a variable. The pass is supposedly for Lot 12C by the way, so it is pretty close. I was told it would be mailed to me, so everything should be easy. By last Friday I was getting concerned that they had not arrived (some neighbors were reporting mail tampering), so I called back and was told there was a delay in mailing out the tickets (apparently they were not mailed until 12/24), and that I should not worry about it unless I did not get them by Saturday. Now that it's Monday and my tickets have not arrived, I called back and was told that the North Texas mail office shut down without telling the ticket office and that I need to either pick them up at the Omni Hotel in Dallas or at the Will Call (Gate J). Apparently I could have chosen to have them sent by FedEx for $10, but I do not remember being told that a few weeks ago. Getting to downtown tonight or tomorrow to pick them up would be difficult for me. I would rather have my tickets now, but the will call would be fine if not for my parking pass. I asked if I could just go to a cash lot and get refunded the cost of the parking pass, but they said the only thing I could do is go out to the street and sell it... I'm quite disappointed in the ticket office - why did they not at least tell me they would not be mailing it out after all? Why even give me the option to pick up my parking pass after I am already there? I suppose that should teach me not to pay for parking in advance...
  3. I have never heard anything like the end of that half. If they didn't end up scoring, I would have said it was stupid...I guess I can't really argue with it considering the results. One of the things I notice comparing this year's team to last year's, we seem to be able to absorb mistakes. Last year, any mistake was an automatic end of a drive or a TD for the other team. Now (especially last week), we can make a penalty and still convert or make a second stand.
  4. Algorithm Analysis. I get a 100 on the first test and a 97 on the second. The professor called me into his office and said that I didn't belong at UNT (that I should go somewhere better). Going into the final, I needed a 64 to get an A (I had slacked off on the homework assignments). I walked out of the final feeling better about that test than the previous two, but I got a 53 and got a B. I asked the professor if I could look at the exam, but he said he would be gone over the entire holiday break. I ended up just letting it go because it didn't really matter, but I did look at everyone's grades (he posted them all online), and the average test score on the final was 17 points lower than the previous exams. Eventhough I "should go somewhere better", I am in as good a position as any of my co-workers, and I think better prepared than the average person for real work. My feeling on Computer Science is that it does not matter much where you go for your undergrad, but this professor convinced me that I did not want to get a graduate degree at UNT (if I were to ever get one).
  5. Major: Computer Science Minors: Math, Technical Writing Occupation: Software Programmer
  6. I remember a couple of years back when OU was killing A&M and A&M couldn't hardly gain a yard. Late in the game, OU knelt at the one yard line. I thought at the time that was humiliating. I don't want another team's pity. I agree throwing deep passes or leaving in the starters in to the bitter end would be bad, but that is not what happened.
  7. Here's one who is glad he has season tickets now We may run out of seats...
  8. Section F Row 35 Seats 16, 17 First time season ticket holder. Graduated in '04 and went with my roommate last year. Now going with my wife.
  9. A Tech guy at work told me about this at lunch, and I went and bought a copy there. A UT and an A&M alum were there and both agreed that we might have the strongest backfield this year. Above the fold - I am impressed and proud.

  11. I am Kevin. My last name is given away by my nickname (spell it backwards). I am a Computer Science Senior, and I live in Maple Hall. I attended all home games this year except for South Florida - I was ill that day. I will try to not change my avatar
  12. From Official Eaglemail: A Groundbreaking Ceremony for UNT's new Residence Hall will take place on Wednesday, December 11, at 3:30 p.m. on the corner of North Texas Blvd and West Prairie (former Texas Pick-up location). A reception will be held in Santa Fe Lobby immediately following the ceremony. All students are encouraged to attend. The Residence Hall is scheduled for occupancy next fall.
  13. By the way, that's over 50 football fields.
  14. As a Computer Science major, I am not happy about moving from the college of Arts and Sciences to the college of Engineering. Personally, I would prefer splitting the college of Arts and Sciences into the college of Arts and the college of Sciences. However, I am starting to warmup to the idea. I suppose my biggest complaint about the change is having my classes in the old TI plant. I live on campus because I am too lazy to commute (and don't want to miss out on the "college experience"). With that said, I took a look at what the TI plant looks like - and it looks enourmous. I am going to have to see it in person, but these pictures give me a starting place: Pictures of the formerly TI plant now UNT Research Park
