  1. I would think the baseball team might help as well.
  2. In the words of Lee Corso, No so fast my friend...
  3. thats funny. Do you think A&M wants us to be on their level? USC? give me a break. No BCS team wants other teams to draw from the talent pools they are wallowing in. To say one is better than the other is a matter of preference and nothing else. A&M SHOULD be giving that effort to the 'horns, they recruit on the same level as them. What is lousy is the fact that they have similar talent levels and cant seem to do anything with it. Dont fool yourself into believing a single BCS program in Texas would enjoy us becoming competitive.
  4. Even if you cant, you can always go in over there... I have season tix and usually sit in the student section
  5. Yeah this system is brutal to learn. Much like Mike Leach's system at TT, it takes at least three years of riding the bench and studying game film to determine the precise position in which to place the ball for the maximum hand off efficiency for the always suprising draw play.
  6. Agree 100%, well put. I think this is the most important thing we can do right now to keep interest in our athletics, as well as our university as a whole.
  7. Exactly, and this is precisely why Illuvius' friend is correct. For the most part, nobody but the die hard CFB fan cares about teams in a different part of the country that are in non-bcs conferences. Toledo went 8-3 this year. Anyone care? How many of you know Nevada's record off hand? Akron? They tied for a share of their respective conferences title(or in Akrons' case, their division and a chance in the MAC champ game), but outside of their regions or respective states, they have no national appeal. In fact I had no clue Nevada even had a "decent" program this year til they beat fresno state last week. We shrug our shoulders at the aforementioned teams the same way they do us. I think that is the point his friend is trying to make. Its not an insult, its reality.
  8. Great post. I also think Fresno and Boise would leave at the first chance they got if the MWC was expanded, or raided. If the WAC lost either of those teams, it would be just as bad or worse than the belt. La Tech will be in the Sun Belt before long, whether they like it or not. I dont see them getting the invite to C-USA with no money, shoddy facilities, etc. I base that thought on little more than common sense, so if I have missed something, please elaborate.
  9. I dont either... there are now 6 bowl-eligible teams in C-USA, and they only have 5 tie-ins
  10. I think you mean Southern Miss... State went 3-8
  11. want to get rid of dickey? go 10-1 next year.
  12. Its our fault really. If we would have gotten more people to the game, the team might have wanted to win more.
  13. I dont know about talnet. Do we have the coaching to beat them? Will we be prepared? SMU beat U of H last week (a team that has alot of speed and offensive fire-power) and just wailed on UTEP. The are going in to the off season with alot of momentum. I dont think we could have kept within 21 points of Texas State this year. This is a really frustrating day for NT fans.
  14. certainly doesnt look like Terry passes on the "butter" too much these days. Who cares, his opinions flip flop from week to week anyways. If you look at the heisman list from last week you would think Vince Young was god and Reggie Bush was placed in 3rd, then you read this weeks (when Texas didnt even play) and he is acting like it is a race between Bush and Leinart and Young has alot of catching up to do "because the heisman is all about what have you done for me lately".
  15. They also didnt need Derrick Johnson when he was available and passed on him... with the defense in the shape that is is now, I would think they could use that sort of gamebreaker. I dont think you pass on guys like that when you have the chance. Of course, any of Texas' O-linemen would be a good addition. Maybe they can trade down and draft the whole line! Capers wont be there next year, IMO. I dont know how you keep a coach around that hasnt had a winning season and is currently 1-9 with no sign of improvement.
  16. whatever, Im just hoping my Texans lose the rest of the games this year and fire the coach (sounds familiar), then we can get Reggie Bush in the draft!
  17. nope. but the cancelling football comment was funny
  18. great move for TCU... they get to play in one of the hottest recruting beds in the US, and will probably roll on another Big12 team. Quite a first year in the MWC
  19. I think they were just trying to be funny about not throwing tortillas. I thought the sign was funny, as did most of the people sitting around us... and we know what funny is, so you can trust me. It was in fact funny. Dont believe me? Call TBS, they will tell you if its funny or not. Then you can laugh without wondering, "is this in fact funny"
