  1. Gotta luv this attitude ! Marcus Trice The Mean Green Family is a Brotherhood like no other. This year's team will forever be dear to my heart. Can't wait to goto war August 31st!
  2. The Conference USA College Football Preview shows will air on several FOX Sports regional television networks beginning Thursday, Aug. 8. The show will be split into two episodes, one for each division. The East Division will be featured for the first time at 5 p.m. CDT Thursday on FOX Sports Southwest, followed by the West Division preview at 5:30 p.m., also on FOX Sports Southwest. Hosted by Ron Thulin, the shows feature interviews with all Conference USA coaches and a player from each team, as well as highlights and facts to get fans ready for the upcoming season. The East Division consists of East Carolina, FIU, Florida Atlantic, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Southern Miss and UAB. The West Division is made up of Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Rice, Tulane, Tulsa, UTEP and UTSA. The shows will run many times on multiple Fox Sports Regionals. 3. I've been around for a long time and paid my dues so I'll chime in on any thread I want to, thanks.
  4. The annual 'we're locked out of practice' thread. Becoming a tradition.
  5. North Texas: Experience! Returning starters arent everything, but Dan McCarney has to feel good about all the quality pieces he had coming back from last years rough season. From the glamour positions like RB Brandin Byrd and WR Brelan Chancellor, to the underappreciated spots like OL Antonio Johnson and LB Zach Orr, this is a team that will know what its doing once it hits the field on August 31 against Idaho. http://www.texasfootball.com/college-news/view/180443
  6. If we did that, you'd certainly have something to say about it.
  7. Two Mean Green Players make all conference team. North Texas: Derek Thompson returns at quarterback for the Mean Green, but might lose his starting to job to former Kansas QB Brock Berglund, who is one of nine transfers joining the squad. Whoever lines up at QB will have some pretty good weapons, including WR Brelan Chancellor (450 yards, 5 TDs) and Darnell Smith (28 catches, 379 yards). Defensively, North Texas returns eight starters, including linebacker Zachary Orr, who had 108 tackles last season. The entire secondary is back and is anchored by cornerback Zac Whitefield and safety Marcus Trice. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/blog/eye-on-college-football/22950847/cusa-preview-ecu-tulsa-seek-one-final-title-before-moving-to-aac

  9. The Excellence in Management Cup was established by the Laboratory for the Study of Intercollegiate Athletics (LSIA) at Texas A&M University in order to address the question of: Who is the most economically efficient athletic department in Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A)? The unique, yet simple, scoring system awards more points to athletic departments that win conference and national championships while efficiently allocating money to win these championships. Other championship cups do not address natural competitive advantages given to universities that have higher operating budgets and play more sports (thus, more opportunities to win championships). 11. In his three years Ramsey set NINE NCAA passing records. Was good enough to play several years in the pros with New Orleans and Denver.
  12. I'll enjoy being excited about this kid until I actually hear that he's changing his commitment.
  13. Who is in and who is out? This will be the big question, much like in realignment. But think of this potential change as similar to realignment in that for all the drastic scenarios floated, in the end it wasn't nearly as earth shaking as many had predicted. Along with the Big 5, a majority of the other major football-playing leagues would likely go with them -- Mountain West, American Athletic, Conference USA, Sun Belt and MAC. The top basketball leagues like the Big East, Atlantic-10 and perhaps the WCC would go as well. The Ivy League and Patriot League will be talked about, too. 17. We've speculated on just about everything else and I know that this is totally outrageous, but what if ................................... the Mean Green went UNDEFEATED !! 1. Where do you believe we'd be ranked in the Top 25 ? 2. What bowl would we play in ? Crazy ? Sure, but.......................
  18. I refuse to have a "Debbie Downer" or "what if" attitude before the season even starts. This team is a WINNER until it's proven otherwise !
  19. Pre-season chatter. Most fan sites are outrageously hopeful about their team and excited about the upcoming season. Another thread of why we or will we fail on gomeangreen.com.
