I'd put our odds of a top 25 ranking during the season at 5%, and even that is probably optimistic.
Get through OOC with no bad losses, 2 maximum, and start off on a tear during conference season... Get to something like 22 or 23 wins against 2 losses... And then there's a chance.
And, not knowing exactly who we've sold games to, I wouldn't be too sure of our ability to start out that hot.
Here's a thread that talks about what it takes to earn a ranking and how different it is compared to being a top 25 football team. Started it up because we made it to 13-2 back in 2010-11.
Your realistic opinion sucks. I say 100% chance of top 25 ranking, 75% chance of winning the national championship, 60% chance of going undefeated, 25% chance of being able to beat whoever wins the NBA Finals

The stadium is set up for WiFi but the area around the stadium is not.
To hook up the "free" WiFi network, you'd need at a minimum of a T1 connection (1.5 Mbs) and quite likely a lot more than that -- more like 6 or 7 T1's multiplexed just to get around 10 MBs of bandwidth.
Open access -- wow, that's a scary concept. People have their open wireless internet used for hacking, downloading porn, and other malicious activities. When the police (local and federal) show up at your front door because of poor or non-existent security, you have to prove it wasn't you that was downloading kitty porn or hacking some government site. The last thing NT would ever do is maintain an open WiFi network that sets up an avenue for people up to absolutely no good to perform illegal activities.
Finally, considering the area around the stadium is only used for tailgating and other activities a few times a year, it doesn't seem like it is worth the monthly expenses ($350 to $1,200 a month depending on provider and speed!) to set up a network given the extremely low frequency of use.
How is this open network concept different than anything you would see at a coffee shop or hotel that doesn't have a password?

Is WiFi avalible at the Hill for tailgating and if so, is it fast enough to stream football games? With technology like Sling Box, I could basiclly watch any channel in my directv package out there, if the internet is fast enough. I'm thinking about hooking up my laptop to one of my flat screens and watching more football during tailgating next season.
We thought about doing this as well. I posed the question last year to no response (I probably should have gone to someone else). With the opening of the stadium behind us, it may be something they can look at, particularly with Apogee as the sponsor.
I don't believe any internet access is available currently on the Hill or any of the tailgate areas.

On may 1st the SBC released the dates and hosts for the 2012-2013 champioships. I know there was chatter about the SBC tourney being moved, but it looks like Benson was forced to wait until after next year.
March 9-12, 2013 are the dates.

The only championships that we host are Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving...of which we only compete on the Women's side.
Good to hear it's staying one more year. That's always been a fun trip for UNT fans.

We made this trip a few years ago. Highly recommended. Great atmosphere out there.

I'll be getting in to Hot Springs in time for the women's game Saturday and staying until we have declared 2 champions.

ULL Coach Bob Marlin suspended two players today and they will not travel to Hot Springs.
Raymone Andrews - 25 min, 6.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists per game
J.J. Thomas - 21 mins, 8.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists per game.

Not star players, but solid contributors. You never know how a team will react to something like that.

Game will be @ convention center court. A big crowd can make a big difference in that place.
No question. See FAU game last year as a prime example. We need the Mean Green faithful there and loud for this one!

Ok I figured it out. If UALR & ULL tie, it would go down to who has the better record vs the 3rd place team in the West. So if we beat Denver , ULL would have the tie breaker and win the WEST
I stand corrected.
-
I don't think UALR wins tiebreakers over ULL.
I think they do.
1. They split the season series. Next tiebreaker.
2. Both would have identical 7-3 division records. Next tiebreaker.
3. Both lost to MTSU. UALR beat Denver twice. ULL was 1-1.
UALR wins tiebreaker.
Again, could be wrong.
-
Still possible we could play ULL in the SBC quarters, but they'd have to lose to ULM. I don't think it's possible for UALR to slide down to the 4, even if they lose to ASU.
In my quick checking, looks like UALR wins tiebreakers over ULL and Denver. I think UALR is the #2 seed regardless.
Again... my quick glance at the tiebreakers. Could have missed something.
-
Unless I'm missing something, we just clinched a bye with that win and the FAU loss.

Great news. Interesting timing. Makes me think the Board knows something we don't.
Regardless, great to know RV will be around for a while.

Not to kill your buzz, but I think it's actually 5 AM.

You'll probably want to reserve a room before you go. Seems that hotels are filling up this year faster than they have before, at least for Friday and Saturday night. We're staying at the Austin for Sunday-Tuesday, but haven't been able to get a room close to downtown/arena for Friday/Saturday yet. I like staying at the Austin because it's reasonably priced and a great location.
And if you've never been before, you are in for a real treat! It's a blast!

Count me in....
Shirt size: XL
6'2" white guy trapped in a white man's body. Don't think I've played since last year's game, but I still got mad skillz. Undefeated all-time in GMG.com basketball contests. I've been training for a half marathon, so if there is one thing I can do, it's run up and down the court for the whole game.

Let's say we beat ULL and split the series. We both wind up w/ same record & tie for 3rd. How is the tie breaker determined ?
Tie-breaking procedures are listed here:
