  1. I am looking for some business plan writers for my business to do work as an Independent Contractor. It's ideal for upper-level business students or recent graduates.

Info is below. Please contact me if you are interested:

*Job Description: A Business Plan Writer will write business plans as an Independent Contractor to be used by Optimus Business Plans. Some market research will be performed as well.

Most projects will take about 15 hours to complete and will be due about 14 days later. You can perform the task on your own schedule from your home, dorm, computer lab, etc.

This is ideal for busy students in need of some extra cash and is a perfect opportunity for Entrepreneurship students to get some real world experience. *Job Requirements: You must be a good writer to receive this position. Ideal candidates will be recent graduates or those with some upper level business courses completed. Application Instructions: Send an email to brian.gilmore@optimusbusinessplans.com to apply.

In the email, include your information, such as your name, education status, major, GPA, etc. Most importantly, attach an example of your writing, whether freelance, an actual business plan, or a school project. Make sure it is something you actually wrote and was not written by a group member.

  2. The stadium is set up for WiFi but the area around the stadium is not.

To hook up the "free" WiFi network, you'd need at a minimum of a T1 connection (1.5 Mbs) and quite likely a lot more than that -- more like 6 or 7 T1's multiplexed just to get around 10 MBs of bandwidth.

Open access -- wow, that's a scary concept. People have their open wireless internet used for hacking, downloading porn, and other malicious activities. When the police (local and federal) show up at your front door because of poor or non-existent security, you have to prove it wasn't you that was downloading kitty porn or hacking some government site. The last thing NT would ever do is maintain an open WiFi network that sets up an avenue for people up to absolutely no good to perform illegal activities.

Finally, considering the area around the stadium is only used for tailgating and other activities a few times a year, it doesn't seem like it is worth the monthly expenses ($350 to $1,200 a month depending on provider and speed!) to set up a network given the extremely low frequency of use.

How is this open network concept different than anything you would see at a coffee shop or hotel that doesn't have a password?

  3. Is WiFi avalible at the Hill for tailgating and if so, is it fast enough to stream football games? With technology like Sling Box, I could basiclly watch any channel in my directv package out there, if the internet is fast enough. I'm thinking about hooking up my laptop to one of my flat screens and watching more football during tailgating next season.

We thought about doing this as well. I posed the question last year to no response (I probably should have gone to someone else). With the opening of the stadium behind us, it may be something they can look at, particularly with Apogee as the sponsor.

I don't believe any internet access is available currently on the Hill or any of the tailgate areas.

  4. On may 1st the SBC released the dates and hosts for the 2012-2013 champioships. I know there was chatter about the SBC tourney being moved, but it looks like Benson was forced to wait until after next year.

March 9-12, 2013 are the dates.

The only championships that we host are Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving...of which we only compete on the Women's side.

Good to hear it's staying one more year. That's always been a fun trip for UNT fans.

  5. Still possible we could play ULL in the SBC quarters, but they'd have to lose to ULM. I don't think it's possible for UALR to slide down to the 4, even if they lose to ASU.

In my quick checking, looks like UALR wins tiebreakers over ULL and Denver. I think UALR is the #2 seed regardless.

Again... my quick glance at the tiebreakers. Could have missed something.

  6. You'll probably want to reserve a room before you go. Seems that hotels are filling up this year faster than they have before, at least for Friday and Saturday night. We're staying at the Austin for Sunday-Tuesday, but haven't been able to get a room close to downtown/arena for Friday/Saturday yet. I like staying at the Austin because it's reasonably priced and a great location.

And if you've never been before, you are in for a real treat! It's a blast!
