Can someone tell me why this girl is my profile picture whenever I post today? Granted she's cute but I had never set a profile pic and today she started showing up on my posts. Just now I've set a new profile pic but she is still showing up.

No problem Harry. I also made a post about it on the private forum. Looks like he resigned back in 2006 to pursue non coaching opportunities but maybe now is looking to get back into it. I also have found that he's friends with Mccarney on facebook...ha. Maybe he'll be the QB or TE coach?
At his initial press conference McCarney said Canales would coach the QB's but I'm sure that could change.

I heard that the SEC splits evenly amongst its 12 teams, too. If this is true, why does Texas require a deal that is different than Ohio State and Florida, two other peer institutions that have similar positions within other major conferences?
Just to be clear ... it's not just Texas. Nebraska loved it when at first when they were winning big. Oklahoma prefers the rules as they are. It's not just Texas.

Is this official? I think we've only heard that Hines was in limbo.

You counted wrong, there are 35 bowls with 70 teams getting bids.
I disagree with an 8 team playoff. If there is going to be a playoff, then every conference should get a shot which would require a 16 team playoff. Seed them however makes sense, but 8 just allows the AQs to continue to keep everyone else out.
I agree. The champion of EVERY conference should get a shot.

After hearing McCarney talk, the similarity to the late great Jim Wacker has been made by many. It got me to thinking about the man. Wacker had a weekly TV show where no matter what the score, or how bad TCU got beat, he would always be positive and pumped up. I did a search and found this gem. Keep in mind that we (at the time were NTSU) beat TCU. Also soak in how awesome the old school unis looked (both NT & TCU) and how dang big the shoulder pads were.

The highschool kid look pretty good and seemed to make some good decisions but this Granger kid has a heck of an arm. I'd say sign him!

I was wondering the same thing. I think it'll come down to whatever Canales is more comfortable with. He might be more comfortable in the box where he has a much better view of what's happening on the field.

Nelson seems like an emotional dedicated coach and given their background together; I feared he would be retained. The Gilmore, Cantly switcheroo between DT and DE just made no sense and certainly proved to be more than questionable and we saw a recurrence this year with McCoy. Maybe Nelson is better than I think, but he has made some very poor football decisions. His defensive tackles were actually good this year, but he never found the right combination at DEs. The good thing is that McCarney unlike Dodge has the knowledge to keep him in check and hopefully he will bring in an excellent Defensive Coordinator.
Not only will McCarney have a say but he's also hiring a defensive coordinator. So there will be two defensive coaches above Nelson who will have a say in personel decisions.

I agree. I like that better than SOW which is much, much better than North Texas.

It is funny, because from what I had heard and observed Nelson is one of the last I expected to be retained. I expect Hines, Gandy and Peterson, but what do I know.
Nelson coached for 10 years with Mac. He's the most likely to stay.
