Update number 2, never played in a game. When he transferred to Duke, I wonder if he thought that he was transferring for a free education and zero playing time.

I would take a free Duke MBA, but that has to be disappointing for him to pass on UNT at the last minute to never stepping on the field at Duke.

Nothing disappointing about a grad degree from Duke.

  2. We definitely haven’t seen someone transfer in and make an immediate high-level impact if they hadn’t already been a major contributor at their previous school. Timing has also been important, with winter enrollment being a huge advantage to learn the system during spring practice. Trice, Maclin, Guyton and several others were ok players in year one but didn’t excel until their second season. And almost no summer enrollee from the JUCO ranks has done much. Guys like Cleveland and Mazin played a ton and were able to contribute significantly in year one.

GMG.com:  We should blow up this roster like Colorado/Texas State. The portal is king!

    UNT Football:  Blows up roster

Also GMG.com:  Why are we losing everyone? Something's wrong with this program. The portal is the death of college football!

Not one single person advocated for getting rid of almost every offensive starter - even me who was never convinced this offense was that special.

I was at the FSU/North Alabama game when Travis' leg broke. I figured the national championship dream was over, but I thought it would be because of a loss. Mike Norvell is a hell of a coach to get them to 13-0.

Spending so much time in Tallahassee has me biased, but Florida State got robbed. The committee kept them out because of how their third-string quarterback played, even though he would not have played a down in one month in the playoffs. Teams have won the natty with backup quarterbacks but now that's viewed as impossible? Norvell would've had a month to prepare Rodemaker.

The undefeated champion of a P5 conference has always gotten in the playoff. FSU won all their games and their defense played out of their minds after Travis went down. Louisville came in humming on offense with three 30-plus point games. FSU held them to 6.

The standard for the playoff should have been about wins and losses, not about a perception of who is going to play better in a month. People keep using TCU as the reason FSU should've been excluded, but TCU showed it belonged by beating Michigan.

It's weird that the ACC is being talked about like the G5 even though it has three national championships the past decade. Will the ACC be the next to die after the PAC-12 as ESPN and the other football powers try to form the Premier League of college football?

Well, since he’s gone… I have never seen a quarterback fumble as much or as easily as Chandler Rogers did.

He also never won a big game for us. If he had been just a little bit better, or could have beat out Stone Earle this summer, we would be in a bowl game.

Enjoy your $1M, Chandler. Remember, after taxes and agent fees that $$$ is cut in half.

Yes $500k as a college student is a total nightmare situation!

Against a 5-7 Florida and a Louisville squad that lost to 7-5 Kentucky and 3-9 Pitt.

Have you seen their defensive stats? They held the top scoring offense in the country (LSU at 46 ppg) to 24. They held those last two opponents to 6 and 15. In fact, no one has scored more than 24 in their last 10 games and 29 was the most given up all year. For the season, 16 ppg average. That’s elite.

I know we don’t understand this here anymore but there is more than one way to win that big offensive numbers. (Btw they averaged around 37 ppg on offense.)
