  1. DT Charles Walker 6'4" 280 lbs (Garland, TX) - VIDEO Walker is a guy who has been very much under the radar, but has burst onto the scene recently with some very impressive senior film. The Oklahoma scholarship offer only added to the attention as they tend to do. Injuries have been the only reason Walker has not received more attention. When he has been healthy he's been absolutely dominant, which was never more evident than in his senior film. He's a guy that, if he can stay healthy, could be a real diamond in the rough for Oklahoma if they could secure his commitment. Walker discussed possibly committing at the time the Sooners offered and has said if he likes what he sees this weekend he could commit on the spot. Walker currently holds offers from Oklahoma, Houston, Iowa State, New Mexico, and North Texas among others. 2. I spent some time working the phones today to see if anything was going to move on the recruiting front. UNT could use some good news right now (the “Mean Green Morale collapse watch” is still on after a brutal few weeks). I did come up with some promising tidbits from a few recruits, but UNT did not land a commitment today after five players visited campus over the weekend. Louisiana DB Jermaine Antoine, maybe the best recruit on UNT’s board; Louisiana DE Claude George and South Garland DT Charles Walker joined UNT commits WR Turner Smiley and Keller OL Cody Nelson in UNT’s visit group. Walker is a new name at a position of need and is the closest of the three non-committed players to going with UNT. He is has good size at 6-4, 280, and also has an offer from Texas State. I am going to try to run him down tomorrow. Read more: http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/2012/12/sunday-night-recruiting-roundup.html/
  3. One of UNTs more intriguing targets still out there is headed out for his second official visit since spending a weekend in Denton. Charles Walker, a defensive tackle from South Garland, visited UNT earlier this year and then took a trip to Houston. He will be at New Mexico this weekend, South Garland head coach Mark Cox confirmed this morning. Walker is one of the more interesting stories of the recruiting season thus far. Walker is a high-end talent who didnt post a qualifying test score until late. Read more: http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/
  4. I made a few additional calls this morning and picked up some information on Charles Walker. He was the one player who came in on an official visit this weekend I had not mentioned earlier in the week. The South Garland senior was the Defensive MVP of District 11-5A this season, when he played nose tackle. Walker projects as a tackle on the college level. At 6-4, 285, he already has good size for a defensive lineman on the college level. Read more: http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/2012/12/some-additional-information-on-charles-walker.html/
