  1. What about Texas A&M Kingsville. I would love to see them have a program like in the 80's?

one would think UNT would already have a plan up and posted somewhere

seeing as TxState has theirs posted several years before they will be able to move up a division one would think UNT would have had their plan posted two or three years back since everyone is "banking" on ground being broken on a stadium and a new hotel in 2009

the reality is UNT has no plan for athletics or the university as a whole and UNT has no plan for a student fee on a progressive scale like TxState and UNT has no plan to even have a vote on one

just about every major university in Texas has a plan to move their university forward with a capital campaign or they have just completed a capital campaign and several smaller schools have a plan or just completed one

several schools also have firm published plans for athletics as well

UNT has not ever had a plan like that public or private since the "move up" from 1-AA.....and I have never even seen UNT talk about raising money for academics

  2. I think that really sums it up, at the moment it sounds to me that Riley will red shirt for sure.

I wonder what the depth chart will look like, I Understand that Tune has been moving up the ladder,

    1 Vizza

    2 Tune

    3 Meager

    4 Phillips

    5 Dodge (Red shirt)

There is another guy that is the number 6 at Qb. Who is he?

  3. I've heard the same thing about male brain development. However, by the time most human beings get to be about 10 years old they know the basic difference between right and wrong. And that includes males.

I wonder if the insurance industry knew this information about brain development long before the general public knew it. Their rates for male drivers (assuming you have no wrecks or tickets) changes at 25. It's been that way for decades.

This could be worse. He could have been involved in a murder. A former NT lineman, who played for Corkey Nelson, was involved in a murder in Dallas. I think the player in question was from Kaufman.

I don't know if he was older or younger than 25 at the time.

Obviously going to college didn't help his judgment.

How long ago was this Old Timer and did this guy last the duration of his eligability?

  4. Meager played...look over at the blog on meangreensports.com. I got to my room a few minutes ago, and was able to read about the scrimmage from that.

Great service from the boys at meangreensports.com. Thanks.

(Ian, can you believe we are communicating by gmg.com?)...love, dad

When you have the third team offensive on the field, who are these offensive linemen being that the team is real thin on the offensive line due to injuries?

  5. A Rice trip would be fine with me UNLESS I am stuck on a bus with the same driver we had last year to the OU game and back. The guy was a disaster! I do not think he ever went over 45-50 mph and we were hit by a passing car towing a triler (not the drivers fault, but caused delay), had to stop to secure the baggage compartment door (driver's fault), etc. etc. I was absolutely WORN out after taking at least one to one and a half hours longer than it would have taken by car!

Being with the MEAN GREEN NATION was, however, a blast...so bring the next trip on!

THANKS TO THE EXES FOR GETTING THIS GOING! :clapping:

Just don't get somebody like Emilio to do the driving around Houston.

  6. Van Malone coached at NT a few years ago but I do not think he stayed to long.

I wonder what it took to hire Gary back? Apples to oranges, but found this interesting........

  7. SMU and new coach June Jones have added seven commitments to the four left from the Phil Bennett regime.

The new commitments include two Texans, Lufkin OL Josh Emshoff (6-4, 270) and Cuero RB Quincy Whittington (5-7, 165).

SMU also got pledges from five out-of-state recruits: Chesapeake (Va.) Atlantic Shores Christian WR E.J. Drewery (6-6, 210), Anaheim (Calif.) Servite OL Evan Huahulu (6-1, 330), Ridgeland (Miss.) RB B.J. Lee (5-5, 160), Sheridan (Ark.) athlete Bryce Lunday (5-8, 176), and Atco (N.J.) Winslow Township RB Keith Robinson (5-9, 170)

Oral commitments are nonbinding. The first day a recruit can sign a national letter of intent is Feb. 6.

Maybe we can get somebody on our staff to go after that OL 6-4, 270 player

  8. I just happen to be flipping channels last night when Americas Most Wanted was on. It was mentioned that North Texas has some kind of forensic identification lab that can take remains and construct a face. Out of eight homicide remains two were identified.

On a smaller note I use the Interlibrary Loan Program when a book is not avialable in our library and this book arrived through the UNT library.

I am so happy that these programs create publicity for our great school.

  9. somebody else already mentioned he made $130K at UCLA and he apparently is not being retained by UCLA, so why would he not come home if offered?

That right they fired the recent coach from UCLA and that means that the new coach brings in a totally new staff. I forget those things.

  10. Can you fell me in on what OU coaches said when we played them. I didn't read it in our local newspaper.

With all due respect OT, I hope we sign a load of defensive talent. BUT, I don't expect true freshmen to come in and lead this team, and I don't know of top defensive talent that would look at our DC and be excited about playing his schemes.

It was an embarrassment to have OU coaches laughing about us at the start of the year, and I thought that would create a sense of urgency to adjust his system to our players. Didn't happen and giving up 40+ to FIU just shows the lack of adjustments he made and how over matched he is in the D1 game. I have nothing personal against the man, but this was a bad hire.
