Coach Berry recruited Zach and Blake Burris when he was at Army. The man impressed me and was very forthcoming and frank about the situation at Army. He was in a very tough situation there and I felt bad for him and his staff when they were fired. If it hadn’t been for the 5 yr commitment after graduation and the distance from home I know Zach would have signed with him. His successor, Ross, hasn’t faired much better. I think he is a very capable coach, runs an exciting brand of offense and is great in the homes of recruits as I can personally attest to. I think if given the opportunity he would be successful in a situation such as UNT.

You may be right but I think the universities and the NCAA keep much closer tabs on these summer jobs than most people realize. From what I understand the higher profile programs are definitely watched much closer for any type of infraction upon these lines, thus the universities do a much better job of policing themselves which is why Bomar was kicked off the team. The NCAA for all their faults made believers out of everyone when they dropped the hammer on SMU. But you are probably correct that if you look hard enough you will always find a player with their hand out and crooked alum looking to feel important.

If you are attending school on an athletic scholorship you are not allowed to have a job per NCAA regulations. Most athletes seem to get by without breaking major NCAA regulations.

At this point in the season and the way it has gone so far I can tell you for a fact that a bigger crowd regardless of the reason for being there will be appreciated. The players are young adults and totally understand that college football is a business and somebody has to be held accountable for the product on the field. The bigger the crowd the better!

99.9% of the time when the head coach is fired all of the coaches associated with the fired head coach are gone as well. Most coaches will want to pick their assistant coaches. I don't really see any of them staying.

Hey, thanks for clarifying how bad our coaching really is. However, if I was a coach and a player on his own initiative and against my instructions attempted to field a punt bouncing across the turf I would still yank that player out of the game, period. You know your post could fit well over on the other board. Food for thought. ←

Second, Muzzy is a senior. He made a supid foolish mistake at a critical point in the contest. He should have known better and yes I would have yanked him from the game, period! ←

As a parent who has attend most of these events since Zach started I will say it is great! Everyone is friendly, the atmosphere is festive and there is not anywhere we would rather be on game day. I encourage all of the parents to take advantage of this very enjoyable opportunity.
